Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 164

Scattered shots tore the sky asunder as magic clashed and exploded nonstop. Space tore and devoured these powers almost as soon as they echoed out into the world but this was no reprieve for Viz. Even as he moved with astonishing speed, his powers were being suppressed by his enemies. Mainly the wound on his shoulder that was filled with dark energy and the torrent of storms Adigus threw at him with all his might.

Viz held his shoulder in pain. With the constant attacks, he had no time to rid himself of this dark power and could not release the black poison of his foe. This degrading power inflicted constant pain and he had to keep it in check with a portion of his own power, otherwise, it would spread and bring him to his doom.

His momentum was constantly stolen as Adigus’s tornadoes pushed and pulled at him from every direction. He couldn’t even fully enclose himself in a barrier and catch his breath. No, he was constantly on the defensive and had to run and dodge in an ugly manner. Even his blade was separated from him and he could not retrieve it without the attacks worsening by leaps and bounds.

(These bastards won’t let up for even a moment. It was foolish to toss my weapon away so easily but it’s too late to think about that now. I need my weapon or I need to kill this unruly bitch before her dark powers cause me more problems.)

The woman he referred to, controlled dark energy. She was of average height and build but wore a devilish grin. Like Adigus she was smart and refused to close in. Why get close when your power affects the enemy anyway.

As the pain throbbed in his shoulder he wished to simply cut his flesh from his body and be rid of it forever but he knew this would not work. It was precisely this thought that stumped him momentarily.

(Why won’t it work!?)

His thoughts ran wild as he began to come up with something.

(I need to think outside of the box. What would the mortal do in this situation?)

Viz felt odd thinking about Kazuki at this moment. For a God to acknowledge that a mortal had more capabilities in a certain regard over themselves was something every God would look down upon and never recognize as fact but Viz knew this odd feeling was simply useless pride.

(What in the fuck is pride if I am to die. NO! I HAVE FAR TOO MUCH I WISH TO DO! FUCK PRIDE FUCK SUCH USELESS PROPS THAT HOLD NO MERIT!)

Viz had already used tricky moves earlier, moves he’d never had done in the past but he was still holding back somewhat. Now all reservation was tossed aside.

Viz stopped dead in his tracks and rushed down toward the surface of the world. Adigus roared believing he was trying to find another way to escape.

“He’s trying to drill into the world, don’t let him get away!”

Everyone dove down to match Viz and some even sped up and passed him and waited on the ground below. Viz didn’t care nor did he stop. His eyes glowed with bright light as wind moving at hundreds of thousands of miles an hour gathered around his body and millions of wind blades came rushing out. These blades came slashing and cutting as they spun and chopped out.

The Gods around Viz held no fear as they still had their own barriers intact. With the addition of their weapons, they could deflect all of these wind blades.

For some reason though, more than half of these wind blades never even came close to them. Instead, they flew past them and the air hacked away at the great expanding forests all around. These blades stretched outward and spread across the surface of this planet for tens of millions of miles and left a deep scar on the world itself.

The surrounding Gods had no clue why Viz had done this and continued their attack. Viz still had no time to raise a barrier and did his best to dodge but he was bombarded by many attacks. Thousands of cuts, burns, and frozen wounds spread across his body. Viz grit his teeth as he took these attacks and endured.

He slapped at the air with his only good arm and once again millions of wind blades came flying out. The other Gods were cautious but still dealt with them with ease but again, most of these attacks missed them.

This was again weird but since it did not affect them they paid no attention to it. At the same time, these wind blades tore at the world and devastated the long-expanding forests that covered the area.

As he dodged here and there he still took small injuries left and right but he continued to endure. As his enemies grew excited and laid in more and more, Again Viz sent out waves of wind blades. This time they completely ignored the attack and just fought with slight laziness.

It was at this time that a slight vibration could be felt in the dirt beneath them. To those who were on the attack and were only focusing on Viz in front of them, this vibration slipped past them. Along with the many tears of Chaotic space, they had opened all around them, they did not sense what was coming.

The shaking tremble in the ground very quickly grew and grew until it was no longer subtle nor something one could miss. The world itself began to feel as if it was falling apart as the ground started to split.

Not just the ground but both Viz and Adigus could feel a shift in the air. A strong scent spread on the wind and the air itself started to vibrate as well. Adigus could smell and taste what was on the horizon and now the other Gods noticed something in the distance. A cloud of dust or smoke rising from far away.

They wanted to ask what it was but didn’t dare take their attention off Viz.

Instead, it was Adigus who warned.

“BEASTS! A HOARD OF THEM! HURRY! WE MUST KILL VIZ BEFORE THEY ARRIVE AND RUIN EVERYTHING!”

Viz chuckled before sending out another wave of wind blades. This time it was directed straight at the oncoming hoard of Beasts. Not only that but it was now that both Adigus and the dark user noticed something strange about these blades. Each one contained a tiny fragment of dark energy. It was surrounded by Viz’s power but it was indistinguishably this woman’s power that was flying out with Viz’s wind blades. Not just fragments of her power but also contained fragments of Adigus’s power as well.

The two stared blankly for a moment before their expressions twisted into something horrid as they realized what this meant.

“VIZ YOU VICOUS BASTARD! THESE WILD BEASTS WILL COME FOR NOT JUST US BUT YOU AS WELL. ARE YOU ACTUALLY INSANE!!!!”

To Adigus’s roar, Viz smiled with a demonic grin and spoke only two words.

“I am.”

Both the dark energy user and Adigus were stunned. The woman especially could not believe her eyes or ears and reality began to set in.

She roared at the top of her lungs.

“KILL HIM!!!”

She began to swing her sword as if there was no tomorrow. A beam of highly focused dark energy shot forward as she tried to end Viz in a single shot. This was something Viz did not wish to take head-on. Even if he was powerful and incredibly tough, he could sense this dark energy beam contained all of this God’s strength. In his weakened state, he had no doubt this attack would destroy his body in its entirety if he took it.

To counter this attack he did not face it directly. Instead, he was already standing close to a Chaotic space tear. He could feel the mighty pull on his body already. His crimson lightning shot forward as well and became a dark red beam of light.

Not just him but everyone attacked full-on.

With a thought, Viz tried to summon his blade to his side once more but Adigus was already on top of it. With a wave of his fan, a terrible air pressure kicked up and pushed the blade outside of Viz’s range but Viz wanted this. Viz did not stop nor try and resist this wind from Adigus, instead, he added his own wind to it and increased the momentum and speed of his own blade.

His blade flew off to the side just outside of Adigu’s range. At the same time, the moment his crimson lightning was about to hit the dark user’s beam of degrading energy. His lightning changed direction and moved out of the way of the black beam and instead slammed directly into the side of the black beam. This impact along with the pull of Chaotic space, it became just enough to deflect the dark beam away from Viz.

The dark user was shocked but her expression quickly changed and she smiled as the other Gods’ attacks hit Viz with their full force.
