Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 71
“DODGE IT!”
*schink*
Marty’s silver blade sliced cleanly through, decapitating this unaware demigod. This demigod was now headless but not yet dead. With a small flash of light, a bronze-colored bow appeared in mid-air, it was a soul weapon. This bronze-colored bow tried to take off so this demigod could at least keep his soul intact but Marty was too fast. With a flick of her wrist, the blade came racing back and struck the bow, shattering it then and there.
The demigod did not even have a chance to regret anything, his body was ruined and his soul was no more, he was truly dead. All of this had happened in an instant. The one leading the rest of the Demigods was faster than the others. A light flashed and a golden gauntlet appeared and covered his left arm and hand just as Marty’s sword came slashing down atop him.
Raising his hand just in time, he caught her sword.
*BANG!*
The sound of an explosion rippled out and thousands of sparks lit up the sky from this single exchange. All three of these demigods stared at Marty in shock but again the man with a pair of horns was quick.
“I HAVE HER BLADE TRAPPED! CUT HER DOWN NOW!”
At this time, the other two demigods pulled their thumbs out of their asses and rushed forward. One had a sword and another an axe. As they swung their weapons at Marty. Marty changed her tactic. She released her sword and ducked. The two singing at her missed and she kicked both and knocked them back.
The one leading then suddenly materialized an orb of lightning in the empty space between his horns. Marty was fast but with her sword in her opponent’s hand and being attacked all at once, the horned enemy, thought he had her beat.
“DIE!”
His lightning shot forward with blinding speed and appeared right before Marty’s face but Marty was no weakling. Power gathered within and she pushed it all out with both her divine energy and ki as she roared.
“HAAAAAAAAA!”
A powerful blast of air escaped from her mouth like a godly dragon claiming its territory. The lighting in front of her face was completely destroyed and her blast continued forward. contained within it were tens of thousands of wind blades, each one capable of cutting Lower Realms into shreds.
This blast of air destroyed part of the landscape below and sent the other two demigods flying backward. As for the opponent in front, he was forced to release Marty’s blade and lift his gauntlet in front of his face. With a thought, his gauntlet suddenly expanded and became a body shield. Several scratches appeared on the surface of his gauntlet shield before a few cracks began to spread across its surface. He was knocked back but he managed to stay upright and with his power pumping through his body, the gravity around him changed and he stopped himself from being pushed any further.
All three Demigods were absolutely shocked by this brief exchange and they know things would not be so simple.
“Change of plans, you grab the brat and you help me hold this one off.”
The man with the ake soul weapon circled around Marty and took her back while the horned man stayed in front of her. At the same time, they released their auras upon her to try and slow her down. Marty in return countered with her own aura. The pressure and weight she felt were instantly cut in half and she even suppressed the weaker of the two by a fair amount.
Marty flashed a smile.
“Is this all ya got? If this is all, ya minus well cut your own necks for me, cause no matter what, today the two of ya will be dead.”
Marty’s sword gathered a torrent of wind and several tornadoes materialized and circled around her. Behind her, the axe wielder created large pillars of water and ice storms that clashed against her own power. The horned man created his own tornadoes and struck out with more lightning.
Marty chuckled before she dodged these attacks and jumped into her own of her own tornadoes. Her enemy’s lightning struck her tornado and with her own control of lightning, she managed to deflect it into the axe wielder’s ice.
The pillars and storms of ice exploded and raced across the surface of the ice before exploding further sending shards of ice in every direction. Marty then swung her sword down and the water near her was split apart and she struck the axe wielder directly in the shoulder cutting him deeply. The axe wielder bore it and tried to knock her back with all his strength but he found that he could not move her.
No, more than that. Not only could he not move her but to his dread, the woman in front of him, her strength was steadily increasing. Her blade dug deeper and deeper into his shoulder inch by inch until it was half way down his chest. He knew instantly that he could not stop her and he called out in panic.
“HELP ME! SHE”S TOO STRONG!”
The horned man wanted, he really did but he could not for the life of him get past her tornadoes. Since they were both wind users, he found Marty difficult to counter. At the same time, no matter which way he moved, another tornado would materialize in front of him, almost as if she knew all of his moves ahead of time.
At this time he heard another scream from the other demigod he sent to retrieve the boy.
“NOOOOO!”
His comrade was on the deck of the ship but there was something wrong. The man was covered head to toe in weird green needles. These needles were incredibly thin, thinner than even a strand of hair and they dug into the man’s flesh as if he were soft butter.
The man tried to force all of the needles out of his body but every time he removed one another simply took their place. He raised his aura and tried to suppress Kazuki but to his shock, Kazuki’s aura was no weaker than his. As a matter of fact, Kazuki’s aura was slightly stronger.
Covered in needles, the man knew the one responsible was Kazuki and tried to cut him down but there was a problem. Every time he tried to cut Kazuki down, Kazuki would simply move out of the way. He was too fast. The man then switched to magic but every time he had gathered a powerful magic attack. Suddenly all of his energy would vanish. It was like something was stealing it from him.
Little did this demigod know that it was Arc who was stealing his energy. To consume divine power from a weak demigod was something not out of the possibility for Arc. With this and Kazuki’s powerful soul and his ability to fold his soul into many layers, it meant that he would not be suppressed by demigods. With his body tougher than that, it meant that the only way he would be in trouble is if a Divine Soul Weapon cut him.
With his speed, all he needs to do is dodge and wait for an opening.
The man swung at Kazuki once more and Kazuki jumped to his side and with a punch, he delivered a destructive force into the demigod’s side. Several ribs exploded in the man’s side and the pain was excruciating but his bones quickly regenerated.
“You bastard. Stop moving!”
Kazuki smiled before dodging again. He squat down and rose up with all his might. His fist landed squarely on the man’s chin and part of his face was blown off. Kazuki didn’t stop there. His foot came up and delivered a kick and ripped the man’s head off entirely. He swung and kicked breaking the man repeatedly. Due to Kazuki’s blurring speed, he delivered blow after blow faster and faster. So much so that this Demigod’s regenerative abilities could not keep up with the devastation.
The needles dug deeper and began moving through the man’s flesh destroying it even faster. In only half of a second, Kazuki had punched out several million times. The man was reduced to no more than a blob of flesh. Kazuki raised a hand in front of the man and with his palm open he said a single word.
“BURN!”
A bluish-white flame with a small hint of gold in the center erupted from his palm and roared out as it reduced the man to ashes.
The demigod’s body was no more, but Kazuki wasn’t finished. The many needles flying around spun in a deadly fashion before drilling into the man’s soul weapon. Several cracks appeared on the blade before it exploded into tiny pieces and was destroyed.
Arc had helped Kazuki by consuming the demigod’s magic attacks, but besides that, Kazuki had defeated a Demigod.
