Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 80

Kazuki was squeezing the two soul weapons with his gloved hand. Due to this, neither of the weapons could cut him allowing him to escape death. Instead, it was he who was on the verge of destroying the two. The two were screaming in agony and cursing him. Only now did Signy take a step forward.

“Wait!”

Kazuki gave the man a curious look.

(Is this where he bargains or makes threats? Shall we see.)

“So now the dog steps forward. What is it? Can’t you see I’m busy taking care of these two?”

Signy sighed.

“Look, this is a misunderstanding. I don’t know who you are but your employer, Samuel, he, and the rest of the Cortails are not worth someone of your caliber working under them. I haven’t properly introduced myself. I am called

Before he could finish Kazuki spoke for him.

“Your name is Signy. You work for Adigus, you are his right-hand man and he wants you to take good care of Samuel correct? Your boss and the head of the Cortail family are rivals. You came to deal with Samuel for Adigus. Am I right?”

Signy nodded and didn’t deny it.

“What you said is true. Can I talk with you, mind to mind? I’d rather not say some things out loud and catch the ears of those who snoop.”

Kazuki shook his head.

“Speak out loud or not at all. I have no time for games. You wish to remove my golden pearl and I wish to keep what belongs to me. Though if you can offer more…”

Signy understood and thought about what he could pull out of his master’s treasure in such emergency cases. At the same time, Samuel grew worried and thought Kazuki might really make a new deal with his enemy.

“If it’s a price then just name your terms. The amount I can use under lord Adigus’s name…You won’t be disappointed.”

Kazuki nodded with a smile.

“Good, it seems Adigus isn’t stingy. All you need to do is match what the boy offered and add 10%. You do that and I and my friend will gladly join you here and now.”

Singy was pleased and even felt like things could really work out. He would fulfill his mission for his master and deal with the brat and at the same time gain two powerful comrades. This would be a win-win for him and he could even get some merits from Adigus at this rate.

“Lord Adigus is more than generous. Just tell me what the boy offered and I will surely match it and add 10% more just as you asked.”

Kazuki nodded.

“Good, so 90% plus 10% That’s what the boy offered. Match it and we’ll join you. So…”

When everyone in the crowd heard this they were absolutely flabbergasted. Marty was doing her best to hold back her laughter and Samuel almost jumped out of his own skin. If he really offered something like that, his father would have disowned him for sure, no more than that his father would have wrung his neck.

Marty and Samuel did their best to keep a straight face during all of this while Signy and the two demigods Kazuki stared at him at a loss for words.

“Surely, you jest. There’s no way the head of the Cortail family would accept such a deal.”

“You’re right.”

Signy sighed in relief before Kazuki continued.

“The head didn’t make such a deal; it was the boy who has. His father completely entrusted all business in Gauldriss to him, and he determined to keep even a tiny bit, allowing me and my partner to take majority ownership. This way he didn’t have to look over his shoulder for every hidden dagger. So I guess in turn, Adigus’s new rival would be me and my friend over there. So is it a deal, or are you simply wasting my time? Do you even have such authority to make deals in the first place?”

Kazuki gave Signy a look up and down.

“By the looks of it, your master probably only left you in charge of a little of this and a little of that. Nothing too important; otherwise, he’d surely go out of business by now.”

Several people in the crowd laughed at Kazuki’s provocation. Signy wasn’t stupid. He knew what Kazuki was trying to do and wouldn’t take the obvious bait. He also knew that the figures Kazuki presented were most likely not real, and since Kazuki wasn’t giving the real numbers, it meant he didn’t intend to make a deal in the first place and was only stepping on toes, so to speak.

Signy looked at his two comrades and felt the jeering stares from the crowd and understood this first exchange was his loss. If he pushed things further from here, he took the risk of having Marty step forward and face him. After seeing Kazuki in action, Signy could not take the risk and draw Marty into combat. He needed to retreat and rethink things for now.

“Right, my master’s business is too important to leave to me. For today, I think it’s better if we settle things and try and reach a compromise at a later date. I have no reason to further this, so shall we call this to a close?”

“And how do you suggest we do that? At the moment, I have the life of these two in my hands. They have attacked me and according to the law, I have every right to kill them in self-defense…”

Signy was grinding his teeth as his ring flashed. Several hundred Divine crystals appeared in front of him before he stored them in a new ring and tossed it to Kazuki. Kazuki caught it and stared at it like he had no idea what it was for.

“You’ve kept my comrades alive for a reason, it was money was it not? That should be more than enough for you to let them go.”

Kazuki smiled.

“You saw right through me. Yes, I was going to just kill them but why do that when I can make a few coins off of them? This small sum though, is this really all you’re comrade’s lives are worth? If so, I’ll have to return this to you.”

Kazuki acted like he would return it and the women grew agitated and both started to curse again. Kazuki gave their soul weapons another nice squeeze and a few more cracks appeared on the surface. Their souls were being tortured and causing a massive amount of soul-shredding pain. Kazuki loosened his grip and gave them a small amount of relief. The two demigods stared at Signy with pitiful expressions and he sighed before taking out a few hundred more divine crystals.

It seemed he was really rich for a right-hand man. Signy tossed them over and Kazuki laughed before storing these and the storage ring Signy tossed him into his own ring.

“This should be more than adequate. Now it’s settled…right?”

Kazuki nodded.

“Sure. Their lives are their own, they can leave.”

The two demigods had regenerated fully after these few sentences had been exchanged and they quickly got up and tried to recall their soul weapons but Kazuki held onto them tightly and did not allow them to move even an inch.

Signy could sense what was happening and glared at Kazuki but e still calmly spoke.

“What is this? You said they could leave, why are you still holding their soul weapons hostage?”

Kazuki shook his head.

“Did I lie? I said they can leave and they are free to go.”

One of the women was enraged.

“You bastard, Signy already paid, now return our weapons right now!”

Kazuki gave the woman a confused look.

“Yes, you may leave but these already belong to me. That is the price for trying to kill me with them. If you wish to buy them back I would be more than happy to sell them to you pretty ladies. Of course, the cost will be…High.”

Once again Marty snickered and held in her laugh. She was dying inside and wanted to keel over and explode with wild laughter but she had to keep an image right now.

Hearing that they would also have to buy their weapons back, the two women were absolutely furious and could no longer take it.

“KILL HIM! AS LONG AS WE GO ALL AT ONCE, HE’LL DIE!”

The woman who owned the spear leaped forward and pounced toward Kazuki with everything she had. Signy who saw this called out in a panic.

“DON’T!”

His words though were too late. The woman appeared before Kazuki and tried to claw at him and split him down the middle. However, before she could she felt a strong sense of danger and only now noticed that no one else had attacked along with her. Her eyes suddenly met Kazuki’s and she felt a chill run down her spine. Needles covered his other hand and he raised it upward with unparalleled speed. The woman suddenly felt a strange warmth run from her pussy straight up through her stomach, and chest, and then finally her skull before her vision went black.

Before the two halves of her split body hit the ground, Kazuki used his other hand to crush her soul weapon, causing it to shatter, destroying her soul in an instant.

The world…was silent.
