Return of the Fallen Volume 11 Chapter 93

After witnessing Kazuki’s single killing blow. Many people were at a loss for words. They had thought he had pulled some kind of trick but the recording crystal held by a God, who could say it was a lie? Not only that but the fact that there were a few other Gods in the crowd who had watched the fight from beginning to end and said nothing, basically confirmed there was no cheating. Otherwise, they would have surely stepped up and dealt with the matter.

The three Gods looked over the crowd in disappointment. Storing the recording crystal, the man who appeared with bright flames shook his head.

“To throw around false accusations, disgusting. When you dot hat you sully not only my allies good name but mine as well. Tell me, have I, Lestirius, ever spoken a single lie to any of you? If so, call it out, let it be known here and now!”

There was a long silence.

“Not just me but has my faction ever done anything to garner such slander? Anyone! Has my Gatrion Faction ever been dirty and cheated like thieves in the night?”

Once again there was an awkward silence. Even if every word from Lestirius’s mouth right now were true, the way he spoke, to argue with him would only invite trouble. Especially since he did not stand alone. Beside him were two other Gods, to provoke him would be to provoke two more Gods and their Factions. Who would dare?

Lestirius then turned his attention to Kazuki and he landed directly in front of him in an instant. This man was huge and he towered over Kazuki. of course, Kazuki right now was in his Jentson disguise so he wasn’t at his tallest but even if he were in his natural form, the man would still be a head taller than Kazuki.

“You are the one called Jentson?”

Kazuki did not know what this God wanted but he knew not to anger him. With a nod, he replied.

“It is an honor to meet a real God. Yes. I am called Jentson.”

“Your speed is far too fast for a normal being at the Convergence stage. Not only that but the weapon you used is abnormal as well, yet you did not use the sword’s effect and just swung it with your strength. Even with just your strength though, you were still this skilled to split an opponent at the same level without using any magic at all. Strength and speed beyond a Convergence stage. Rumor has already spread of a 7th stage who defeated not one but two Demigods. To believe such rumors, I thought the story was absolutely ridiculous but witnessing your powers firsthand, it’s indeed true.”

Lestirius held out a hand.

“Become my servant. Promise to follow me obediently and I will give you wealth beyond your wildest dreams and I’ll help you become a Demigod here and now and later I’ll even help you to become a true God. What say you?”

The offer was enticing for sure. To step half a foot into Godhood and achieve a power he’s never touched upon before. Kazuki did not know how much longer it would take to fully heal his damaged soul and then transform it. Once that was done, with his mastery over fire, he would be able to step into the Demigod stage immediately. Getting to that point though, Kazuki did not know if it would take ten years or a hundred thousand.

Kazuki shook his head.

“Sorry, it would be a privilege for me to follow you but I have other plans. Forgive my rudeness.”

(You’re not going to take him up on his offer Kazuki.)

(How can I? Even if I agree to it once I join him, besides knowing my secrets he would also see that my soul is damaged. As far as I can tell, the only thing capable of fixing my soul, is me and the soul reading ability I obtained from Nevius. Once he sees that I am damaged, he would throw me away in an instant. To step into the Demigod stage instantly…that is truly tempting but it is not something he can actually do.)

(Hmph, and here I was thinking you refused because you had already agreed to help Samuel. Turns out you just see no benefits from this Lestirius fellow.)

(Not true. If I did join him, I would have reliable and powerful backing along with wealth. With it I would be one step closer to my goal and revenge would come sooner than expected. Samuel, he can’t offer that right away but in time…It may be possible. If I build a stable base with him and Marty and we create our own Faction, things will go smoother.)

(So it’s more like you no longer wish to rush in head first. You wish to take your time and go at a reasonable pace.)

(Exactly. I’ve learned something ever since arriving in the Higher Realm. Going at it alone is not the easiest. There is far too much danger around every corner. I need something more, something sustainable, something I can rely on. That is until I secure the strength I need to do what I must.)

(So Samuel and everyone else, they are simply tools until you can achieve this all mighty strength. A bit cold don’t you think?)

(Arc, you’re one to talk.)

(Hehe, it seems we have more similarities than I initially first thought.)

Everyone in the audience just heard Kazuki turn down Lestirius’s offer. Many of them saw this as a slap to the face and wondered what Lestirius would do. Even if murder was illegal in Gauldriss, right now they were in the arena of all places. Lestirius along with the other two Gods owned this place. What they said and did inside of the arena, who would go against it?

When he turned down Lestirisu’s offer the woman God suddenly took an interest in Kazuki and appeared next to him in a puff of black smoke. She looked him over head to toe.

“Lestirius, this little old man actually dared to turn you down. Heh, he’s braver than he looks.”

“Sasha, why are you budding in on my affairs? This does not concern you.”

Sasha nodded with a pleasant yet teasing smile. She grabbed Kazuki’s chin and lifted it slightly. Looking into his eyes, she loved the expression he held.

“Hmmm, he’s a hidden dragon. He pretends to appear weak one moment but really there is constant danger lying beneath the surface ready to explode the very next. Such youthful vigor in an old man, how rare. I’ve decided, Lestirius, I will be taking this man off of your hands, he shall become mine.”

Lestirius was starting to grow annoyed.

“You vixen, how many men must you devour before you are satisfied?”

“How many, I wonder that myself sometimes. Men…women, no matter how many…they just never seem to be enough. Heheha.”

The crowd was starting to grow restless now. Not one but two Gods were scouting him. Sometimes Gods would do this for fighters in the arena but that was a rarity and it only usually happened with a single God trying to recruit someone but here two Gods were both trying to pull Kazuki to their side. The third God and owner of the arena just watched in silent curiosity, he was not one to bud in when it came to Lestirius and Sasha.

Lestirus took a step forward. Ignoring the growing noise in the crowd. He pushed Sasha’s hand away from Kazuki’s face and his expression turned serious.

“Child, you do not recognize the situation you are in. I made an offer out of politeness. Today, you will either be beneath my boot or beneath Sasha’s. At least under mine, I will not use you as a toy. Sasha on the other hand, you’ll be lucky to be alive after a day or two. This bitch will wring you dry and toss you aside like a used-up filthy rag. As long as you swear to follow me loyally from henceforth, you will be free from this vixen.”

Sasha glared at Lestirius but she didn’t refute a word he said.

“I won’t mistreat you. More like you will experience pleasure beyond anything you’ve had so far. If you go with Lestirius, you will be worked to the bone and forced to fight his enemies. With me, you’ll need to fight no one and at least on my side, you’ll get to have a taste of me. So which shall it be, this war dog over here or my loving and undying beauty?”

The two slowly began to release their aura’s and Kazuki instantly couldn’t breathe. he raised his own aura and folded it thousands upon thousands of times to try and resist but it was completely useless against the two. Like a flea standing up to a planet, no, a flea standing up to a God. No matter the scenario, it would be the weakest possible thing compared to a God. That’s how far apart they were.

Even in this situation though, Kazuki’s strange folding technique did not go unnoticed. Lestirus and Sasha’s interest grew further and the two now wished to know what that was. Without hesitation, their aura’s shot forward toward Kazuki.
