Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 124

Gardius came back to his senses and roared at the top of his lungs. This not only shook the entire world but it also contained a soul attack within. It caused Kazuki to be shaken to the core and he bled from every opening on his face but he still managed to hold onto not only his conscious but also the wire tied to Gardius’s ring.

Not just Kazuki but Cainene, Brella, and Jinkin had all been affected as well. Some more heavily than others.

Cainen had been sent flying backward as he had been hit directly by Gardius’s roaring shockwave. His body was covered in blood and he was worse off than Kazuki but he was still a God and held on. Brella as well had been affected but was by far doing the best out of everyone as she was covered from head to toe in her golden black Artifact armor.

The one who drew the short straw, Jinkin, had completely lost consciousness and was falling out of the sky. His metallic rope that was leashed around Brella and Gardius, loosened because of this. Gardius grew excited as he flexed his muscles.

His flesh began to bulge and swell and the wires loosened further. He had little concern for Kazuki trying to rip the ring from his finger as it was not coming loose in the least bit.

Cainen had been pushed back several thousand miles and he could see Gardius was on the verge of escaping. He shouted in the open air with a hint of desperation.

“STASHA!”

He had just finished his word when Stasha swooped in with her Vajra ship. She instantly picked Cainen up with her ship and sped back in Gardius’s direction.

With her ship’s speed, she should have been able to arrive near Gardius almost instantly. Unfortunately, Gardiu’s had damaged er ship heavily and its speed was reduced by more than a little. If she wanted to arrive instantly, she would now need to use up the last bit of her ship’s Origin energy.

Stasha’s Vajra ship was her lifeline. She was not a powerful mighty Supreme God like the others. She had little strength and was more cowardly. Because of this cowardice, she hesitated for but a fraction of a second as she contemplated using the last of her lifeline just to get Cainen up close and personal.

She flew with just her ship’s regular speed and kept her Origin energy just in case. With just Divine energy, her damaged ship was still faster than most others but it was this initial hesitation that was costly.

Cainene jumped from Stasha’s ship and lifted his drum next to Gardius’s head once again. He knew this would further affect Kazuki and the already unconscious Jinkin but he had no choice.

Just as he attempted to hammer away at his hefty drum and produce another amplified wave of sound, Gardius chuckled.

“Too late!”

Gardiu’s body had repaired the inner damage from Cainen’s previous attack. With his body restored in full, Gardius unleashed a strength never before seen, The metallic wires wrapping him up, with a loud screeching crunch, he ripped them off of his body with his only free hand.

Then with this thick piece of wire, he whipped it toward Cainen just as his hands were coming down atop his drum.

Cainenes eyes widened and he tried to react but he was slow. He could only try and retreat backward as fast as he possibly could but it was too late.

The metal wire was swung with a terrifying speed. With Gardius’s strength and the wire’s small yet flexible material. It moved faster than light and contained a dangerous and brutal nature. It whipped Cainen directly in the face and took the top part of his head completely off, destroying it with a single blow.

At the same time, Cainene’s drum had already been struck but because he tried to retreat and flenched when Gardius broke free. The direction of his attack had changed to some degree.

The attack now no longer had Gardius’s head in sight but rather focused on his chest and Kazuki who was at chest level.

As the vibrations from the sound wave hit Gardius and Kazuki, it was Kazuki who was worse off. His eyes exploded instantly and his brain turned to mush. His organs were shredded and mangled to bits. He felt his blood burst all over the inside of his body causing serious damage. If it was another Demigod, they would have died instantly from such an attack as this attack had enough energy to destroy not only their body but their Divine Soul weapon as well.

Gardius grabbed Cainen’s body and a blast of energy shot from his palm. Cainens entire body exploded and there was nothing left.

As soon as his body was destroyed, a sword took off in a certain direction along with his drum. It was his Divine Soul weapon.

Gardius found this to be absolutely pathetic.

“You disgusting mouse. Trying to flee from a fight with me. I let you escape once, never again!”

Gardius pointed a single finger at Cainen’s fleeing soul weapon but just before he fired another bolt of magic, Kazuki kicked upward with everything he had. He landed a direct hit on Gardius’s elbow causing his aim to slip by a few degrees. His bolt of plasma shot off and just barely missed Cainens soul weapon. Instead, it went far away into the distance and destroyed several mountains in a row before finally hitting the seal surrounding this world.

Gardius felt a sense of rage. He had never missed an opponent he set out to destroy, not until this day. He had missed killing Kazuki’s allies and Kazuki was able to store them away in one of his tiny worlds. During that short exchange he had also missed Kazuki multiple times and now once again, because of Kazuki, he had missed finishing off an enemy.

At first, he had simply wanted to kill Kazuki and claim the treasure but then Kazuki piqued his curiosity by not dying from his first attack. Then he grew annoyed by the fact that Kazuki was able to just barely avoid his attacks each and every time. This annoyance then flipped between annoyance and interest as Kazuki mentioned spreading rumors. He had met only a handful of people that showed no signs of fear of him and also spoke of threatening him.

This was normal in a universe filled with powerhouses and hidden experts. There would always be some who grew too confident and challenged him and it cost them their lives. These were beings close to him in power or at least those who thought they were. There were always folks like that and he enjoyed proving them wrong time and time again. BUT…Never in his entire life had he met someone that was clearly weaker them him and someone who he could kill if he landed a single attack whilst also showing a hint of fear and to top it off threatening him.

To Gardius, Kauzki was an enigma true in true. He simply could not understand Kauzki but now after Kauzki saved Cainen’s life, all he could feel is disgust.

(A weakling saving another weakling. In the end, he’s just another existence that does not belong in my presence.)

There was no longer any curiosity or intrigue. Kazuki was an enemy and enemies do not live. They are not allowed to live. So long as he lives so to will his seal and Kazuki will have no way of escaping. He thought there might have been a chance Kazuki could escape when space was disrupted and fluctuated but the fact that Kazuki remains told Gardius all he needed to know.

Gardius’s eyes began to glow as he spoke coldly.

“Just another ant for my boot.”

Kazuki was still holding onto Gardius’s hand and Gardius filled his ring hand with power.

“DIE!”

Kazuki could already sense what was coming. He instantly released Gardius but instead of just straight up retreating as Cainen did, Kazuki pulled himself toward Gardius.

A beam of several fused energies came straight at Kazuki’s chest. Kazuki did not avoid it and instead took it head-on. At the same time, he raised both his knees up and planted them directly in Gardius’s face.

Kazuki felt his body being destroyed by this power and he instantly activated his spinning void within his Soul world.

He wanted to absorb all of this energy and turn it into his own but just like in the beginning when he faced the dark energy from the black pyramid, these fused energies were not so simple and he could not comprehend nor devour them all.

He only managed to eat some of this energy and grow while the rest was simply too violent, too chaotic to take.

Kazuki felt his body breaking down cell by cell at an accelerated speed. He knew what would happen next and made his move.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

His entire body exploded in the air.
