Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 127

Stasha forced her ship upward at a new angle causing the Gardius’s deadly attack to go flying past the ship and crash into the ground below.

*BOOOOOOOOOOM!*

This world was already actively collapsing and was held together with Gardius’s seal. When his attack hit the now-barren planet, the explosive force caused a ripple effect through the world. From the place of impact, molten lava ascended upward from beneath the surface of the world while the planet itself, all of the land was turned into dust.

The free-flowing magma that had been beneath the surface was now flying and spraying all over. The entire world had been shattered within the seal barrier and now everything was flying all around in a swirling sea of hot red.

Stasha was forced to continuously pump energy into her barrier and she demanded everyone else do the same. Normally she would not give a shit about the temperatures of lava. After all, her ship was an Artifact. However, after it had received such heavy damage, her ship would struggle to maintain flight with a world’s worth of lava crushing down from every direction.

Supplying the energy for the barrier around her ship was also problematic. It was sapping away energy and putting only a fraction of it back into the barrier. Everything else was being drained away and going to waste.

All of this jostling around and tumbling within the storm of red caused Jinkin to bolt awake in fright.

He basically screamed asking what was going on and generally freaking out but no one had time to calm him down with rational action. Brella simply slapped the shit out of him and told him to feed Stasha’s ship with energy. He of course quickly snapped out of hysterics and did as he was told.

While things were chaotic on their end, Gardius was simply bathing in flames and lava. His hand reached out once more.

“Now there is nowhere left to hide but just to be sure let’s do this the right way.”

A large sphere of fused energy appeared above his open palm. He sent an ungodly amount of energy into increasing its size by leaps and bounds. In an instant, it went from something the size of a fist to the size of a small mountain.

As soon as it became the size of a mountain, Gardius left it alone and stepped forward in the air. A long thick blade, more akin to a large fan than a blade appeared in his hands.

Without another word, he shot forward faster than light.

The mountain of energy he left behind suddenly splintered and fractured into smaller orbs the size of heads. The entire mountain of energy became billions of orbs of fused magic. All of these magical orbs radiated intense pressure. It was so strong that everyone aboard could feel it to the point that it became difficult to breathe.

These billions of orbs shot out becoming beams of dense plasmatic energy. All of them were launched and spread out in every direction like an infinite net. Some aimed directly for Stasha and the others while some circled the world to come from behind.

Everyone shuddered seeing this. Their impending death was mere seconds away.

Stasha felt completely hopeless and felt terrified. So much so that she actually froze under this incoming threat.

It didn’t just affect her but everyone else was affected as well and a panic set in. Jinkin who had just awoken didn’t hesitate to jump from the ship and try and escape. He already knew there was no way out with the world being sealed but in his panicked state, he was no longer thinking rationally. He didn’t even aim for the seal but instead just flew in a random direction but this only caused his death to arrive before everyone else.

He was struck in the back, side, and head all at once. His Divine Soul weapon appeared and tried to flee but was immediately destroyed by another passing bolt of plasma.

As disaster surrounded them all, Kazuki sighed inwardly and he gave them a way out.

(Everyone…I’ll open one of my small worlds. You can hide inside and leave the rest to me.)

All eyes found Kazuki and were shocked, surprised, and confused. Too many thoughts came and went but the way he said it, his confidence actually gave them a small semblance of hope.

Stasha who was the weakest among them didn’t even dare put up a front as she grabbed his hand.

“Please.”

Kazuki opened his ring and Stasha along with her ship didn’t hesitate to enter one of Kazuki’s small worlds inside his storage ring.

Those that had been on edge, when Stasha jumped inside, their resistance and questions flew out the window. They did not know if this would actually bring them safety but right now it was this option or face certain death. Cainen saw that Kazuki could access storage rings and promptly took off his own and tossed it to him.

“Take whatever you need. Use every single bit if it gets us out alive!”

He then followed Stasha inside and so too did Carta the dragonborn. Kazuki found it funny how Cainen gave him basically all of his possessions for a chance at survival but Carta simply took refuge without offering anything. He wasn’t asking for anything it was just funny to him.

Brella was next. She, just like Cainen gave her ring to Kazuki before entering one of his small worlds. The last one was Dredinkar.

“I barely know you yet you’ve saved me multiple times.”

Dredinkar held his blank white card in his hand but refused to relinquish it. He squeezed it tighter as if he had contemplated something before placing a hand on Kauzki’s shoulder.

“For now, I will say thank you. Save us and you will not regret it, that I can promise.”

Dredinkar kept his blank card and jumped into one of the small worlds.

Kazuki shook his head before taking something out on one of his small worlds.

As soon as he took this out, Gardius narrowed his eyes as he saw a gigantic form in front of him. This thing took up a third of the space in this place and had a set of jewel-like eyes.

Gardius laughed.

“Again, you are too mysterious yet at the same time so odd. This thing you just took out, this is a Golem is it not but how can a Golem be so ridiculously humongous? Don’t tell me, is this where your strange confidence comes from? All this time I thought you were hiding a better card but this is what I get for expecting something from another weakling.”

Gardius couldn’t understand why Kazuki had brought out a Golem of all things. All he needed to do was destroy the core of this Golem and just like everything else, it would crumble before him.

Now that Kazuki had placed the others inside his ring, it now became a one on one once more. All he needed to do was destroy Kazuki and his reputation would remain intact. First, he would break Kazuki’s cocky demeanor.

Gardius redirected his power to take aim at the Golem. He wanted Kazuki to see his last line of hope shatter before him.

While all of this power went straight at Kazuki’s Golem, Kazuki turned around and flew to the border of the barrier. Gardius smiled thinking Kauzki just like the others wished to flee.

Gardius’s fused attack struck the Golem from many different angles. The Golem could not handle such pure dense energy and exploded then and there. As soon as it was destroyed, Gardius looked up to see Kazuki at the edge of the barrier. Kazuki though did not look like he was trying to flee. Instead, Gardius saw him simply flying around the barrier.

At the same time, Gardius heard an odd sound behind him. Something similar to metal grating against metal. Looking back, he was surprised to see the Golem was repairing itself, rather it was almost entirely repaired already.

“What…I just destroyed the entire thing just now. Is this an illusion?”

Gardius flew over to the gigantic Golem. He felt it was made from real material. Cocking his hand back he threw a simple punch and smashed the Golem. The Golem again exploded into seemingly nothing but only a fraction of a second later, tiny pieces connected and formed with other pieces until the Golem had once more been repaired.

Gardius held up a hand and covered a dark flame that covered the entire Golem from head to toe. This flame burned the Golem until there was nothing left. With that, it should have been solved but once more, the Golem returned, repaired in full.

“WHAT!”

Gardius cocked his head in Kazuki’s direction and Kazuki smiled and shrugged.

“You little imp bastard what trickery is this? A mere Golem should have been destroyed a million times over by now.”

Kazuki laughed.

“True. With the amount of power you’ve displayed, a mere Golem should have been destroyed countless times already but who says this is a mere Golem? Allow me to introduce you to my Titan Golem.”
