Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 155

Codex had been captured and was on the verge of being destroyed. Kazuki and Arc, even knowing it was dumb, could not turn their back on Codex. They could not abandon their friend. With the exit closing behind them, they took the most dangerous path and dove deeper into Chaotic space.

Just as Chaotic space was about to close, Dredinkar threw a tiny object into the void.

Not with a bang but instead a silence. With it, the tear closed and Kazuki was gone.

Brella and everyone else stood there with stunned expressions. In the end, after everything, Kazuki was lost somewhere within Chaotic space and they did not know his fate.

Fleck and Nala were both at a loss as to what to do. They still had slave marks within but they could feel it growing ever weaker as time passed. So long as it existed, it meant Kazuki was still alive but for how long could he last? Not only that but they had no way of ever finding him in the depths of Chaotic space.

Brella automatically turned to them and began demanding answers but the two had none to give.

Bitterness filled her chest. Not only was the Universe still at stake and she could no longer help but she had also lost her precious armor and her entire faction. A sense of defeat was one that could be felt by all. Cainen lost his war drum and much of his clan, Jinkin lost his life and entire faction, and Stasha her powerful Vajra ship.

Looking around, there were barely a handful of Gods left. From well over 100 million to this dismal few.

Brella gripped her fist tightly until her nails drew blood from her palm.

(DAMN THE HEAVENS!)

Brella reached forward and was about to tear open Chaotic space in a desperate hope she could do something, anything to be of aid but Cainen and Stasha quickly held onto her.

(Let me go! we have to do something! Not just Kazuki but the Universe itself is on the line!)

Cainen was knocked backward and Stasha was thrown off. Brella once more attempted to tear open Chaotic space when Dredinkar roared at her.

(STOP THIS MADNESS! OR ARE YOU SO FOOLISH TO NOT SEE WHAT LIES AHEAD!)

Brella paused and looked toward the dissenting voice.

(What…Madness!)

Carta who was right next to Dredinkar felt fear as Brella’s gaze fell onto both Dredinkar and her. She quietly elbowed Dredinkar in his side and whispered in his head.

(Fool, even without her Artifact, Brella is still the most powerful among us. Are you trying to get yourself killed and me in the process!?)

Dredinkar ignored Carta and flew forward. All six of his hands pointed several fingers at Brella.

(Yes, I’m not muddling words. If you enter the fray you will only be in the way. More than that, everyone knows that you cannot simply find someone inside of CHaotc space by simply searching. Even if you open at the exact point it closed, it could lead you to a place trillions of Realms away. Chaotic space is too mysterious and no one has ever figured it out. If you go in there, how will you escape? Once a tear closes one can not simply open a new one. You will risk your life and do nothing but be a burden or worse case a liability. Kazuki’s future is in his own hands now and no others.)

Brella understood all of this but she still did not like the feeling of doing nothing.

(There has to be some way. The Universe is at stake. I will not sit back and just disappear into the void. Not as long as my soul exists and not as long as I have a raging fire in my stomach!)

Dredinkar shook his head.

(I’m not saying to do nothing but going into Chaotic space solves nothing and helps no one. Kazuki, Belux, Arc, that fight is theirs and theirs alone. Meanwhile, ours shall be out here.)

(What do you mean?)

(Belux is many things. One thing for certain is he is very talkative. We already know what his plans are and we now know what he needs to achieve his goals. He needs to kill Kazuki and extract a fragment of Artifact from him and he needs Arc to fuse with him to gain Arc’s abilities. After he achieves these two things, he then needs his Dark energy, enough of it to wipe out the entire Universe and then enough to recreate in his own image.)

(We already know that. This is why Kazuki needs our help more than ever.)

Dredinkar nodded.

(Right, he certainly needs help but we have done all we can for him. Whatever happens within Chaotic space, we have no control over it. Instead, we must control what we can. We must control what happens out here.)

Carta couldn’t help but ask.

(How, what can we do?)

Dredinkar sighed before he answered.

(We must work together. We need to inform everyone, every faction, every clan. Everyone must be aware of what has taken place on this day. Following that, we must gather all of our forces and prepare for a fight unlike any other. We shall gather a force unlike anyone has ever seen and with this army, we shall crush Belux and destroy him permanently so that he may never rise again.)

Brella and everyone else looked around at one another.

(Dredinkar, even with all of this proof, an alliance you speak of will never happen. Gods are too selfish, too egotistical. Above all, they are greedy beyond measure. Once they know what we do, people will gather in their own groups as always but instead of fighting to destroy Belux, they will fall as we did and fight to obtain Belux as a weapon to rule over all.)

Dredinkar shut his eyes in thought and nodded along.

(You’re right. Us Gods are not ones who work well together. Just by this battle alone the evidence of our incompetence is overwhelming but…It does not mean we cannot try. Even if we can not gather enough forces, it does not mean all of our cards are gone. There is still a play we can make. Though what I propose will guarantee to make us enemies of every major power in the Universe. The question is, can you do evil to save the Universe or is it too much for you to bear?)

Brella laughed out loud.

(Since when has a God not performed evil deeds? Just the fact that we’ve reached this level of power shows who and what we truly are. You can not reach Godhood by taking the innocent path, every knows this. If your plan really can save us all, I would sacrifice a Higher Realm or two and everyone within them without hesitation. Now tell me, how are we going to become enemies of this Universe?)

Brella’s words send shivers down everyone’s spine. They did not know what Dreidnkar had in mind but if it meant becoming enemies of all, it could only mean terrible and horrendous things.

—————————————————————————-

Deep inside of Chaotic space, Kazuki and Arc flew straight toward Belux.

(Arc, I can only take one more attack before this armor breaks completely. I’ll take the first attack, and you use that opportunity to snatch Codex away from Belux. We can then use our powers together and flee as fast as possible.)

(After we get Codex then what. I don’t think we’re going to stumble upon another random tear like we did for our last escape.)

Kazuki shook his head.

(I haven’t thought that far. Let’s get Codex and think of a plan after we’re away from Belux.)

Arc couldn’t argue with that, not now.

The two flew as fast as Chaotic space allowed them. As they approached Belux and Codex, they were immediately intercepted by thousands of dark daggers. Arc raised a shield made from Chaotic energy and Kazuki did the same while also using the Artifact wire.

He used the wires like thousands of free-flowing tentacles. At the end of each of these metallic tentacles, there was a coating of Chaotic energy. Kazuki moved these tentacles with a thought. His attention was divided among every single one of them yet he was still perfectly in control and focused.

He whipped away every single dark dagger while Arc fired off countless shots of energy.

In front of them, Belux held Codex captive. His suppressive powers were actually preventing Codex from using its full power. At the same time, Belux had no use for Codex. With everyone now trapped within this nightmarish place, Belux decided to simply get rid of Codex.

His powers began to crush Codex from all sides.

(Kazuki, Codex isn’t going to make it!)

(I KNOW!)

(We have to move faster FASTER!)

Kazuki looked around but had no clue what to do. It was then that something small came flying at him from behind. Kazukiw as about to knock it away with one of the many tentacles when he instantly recognized it and caught it.

(Dredinkar’s card!)

Instantly some information poured into Kazuki’s head and he did not prevent it. New thoughts appeared one after another as he knew what this card was and how to use it.

(Damn Dreindkar! You were holding onto this the whole time!)
