Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 157

(Sword, let’s crush him!)

Sword began to glow as Kazuki manipulated Gardius’s body and the magic within. Four elements swirled and gathered at the tip of each blade. The element of Darkness, Fire, Light and Wind all fused into one.

The six Gardius’s were about to launch this combined attack at Belux when Belux transformed. He once more returned to his Artifact form and shrank out of the wires holding him down. With a smaller body, Belux shot away as fast as light in the opposite direction.

(I have to retreat. I need space so I can counter properly.)

Belux realized he could not fight all six Gardius’s up close, not without suffering a potential loss of epic proportions.

As soon as he tried to create some distance, however, the six Gardius’s Swung Sword without hesitation. The fused magic shot out from six different Swords and chased after Belux as if these attacks were alive.

Belux immediately had to take evasive maneuvers to dodge all of this power.

He zoomed away and flew near a Realm-sized meteor as a few of the attacks just barely slipped by and landed heavily on this meteor.

*BANG BANG BANG!*

A quick succession of booming explosions echoed out as the meteor was destroyed instantly. The homing magic didn’t stop and continued to give chase. Its speed was barely reduced and it ripped through Chaotic space almost entirely unimpeded.

Belux’s fury rose. The dark hand shrank and became incredibly dense and concentrated like an undying star. It became the size of a boulder as it moved through space like a force of nature. This dark boulder quickly intercepted all six fused attacks causing mass destruction.

The fused attacks and the dark boulder erupted simultaneously. The dark boulder blew up and spread a mass of debris in every direction, clouding everyone’s vision.

Belux’s angry shout’s seemed to come from every direction.

“YOU THINK YOU ARE JUSTIFIED IN THIS FIGHT! YOU ARE MERELY A SELFISH SPOILED BRAT! TWO LIVES TO MAKE THE UNIVERSE A PLACE OF PEACE AND PROSPERITY, YET YOU’D RATHER PURSUE YOUR PETTY REVENGE!”

Kazuki could not tell from which direction Belux’s voice came. Using the six Gardius’s he swept the dark debris away with a swing of the Swords. As soon as he did this, he felt a terrible pain in his soul as a dark blade protruded from one of the Gardius’s heads.

Belux had moved like a snake in the grass and struck down one of the Gardius’s. In a single move, he destroyed the souls that resided inside that body but did not destroy the body entirely. Instead, he absorbed the corpse restoring a bit of his power.

The remaining five Gardius’s all raced forward to try and take on Belux but he moved the dark energy around like a cloak of mist and hide himself once more. Only a fool would not see what Belux was trying to do and Kazuki quickly had his remaining selves retreat from the dark mist.

Escaping the mist, they all changed tactics at once. Just as they were about to launch another attack, the exploding meteor in the distance suddenly reversed and put itself back together. A large suction force pulled all of them back into the mist they just escaped from.

(BARRIERS! RAISE YOUR BARRIERS!)

A single command saved another Gardius as a dark blade was deflected off of his barrier.

*Tch*

(Little shits!)

“Kazuki you puppet these fools extremely well. All you can do is manipulate bodies all in an attempt to what? Delay the impending, the inescapable path I have laid out. Tell me, what is your future? You find this woman Spehra and take her head or she takes yours. What is the point of it all, huh? You want to kill her because of what she did to you and yours. GROW UP! EVERYONE HAS LOST SOMEONE!”

Kazuki did not try and locate Belux through his voice but instead followed the flow of dark energy. Yes, the mist covered this entire area and contained dark energy but the biggest source was still Belux himself. Kazuki just needed to follow the largest amount.

The remaining five Gardius’s moved in a random route as they dodged incoming attacks. At the same time, they launched several attacks of their own and let this magic float around the battlefield. Belux naturally moved away from these magic attacks and focused on the offensive while Kauzki continued to lay these mine-like attacks out all around.

“Belux isn’t your entire reason for trying to restart the Universe because you lost someone. You act like your goal is what others wish for but in the end, you are just as selfish as me…No, even more so than I. I seek one person to finish it. Yes, there will be more that get in the way but in the end, only a few will be eliminated when I am done. You on the other hand, you are flexing and imposing your will not over a handful but overall. What’s worse is that you think, no you believe you are doing the right thing. At least I know what I aim to do is not good but what I will do is necessary, at least for me it is.”

Belux created thousands of dark daggers and controlled them with his thoughts. At the same time, he made more dark lightning and began raining them down upon all the defensive barriers.

*HAH!*

“Such drivel and yet you spout it oh so well Kazuki. You cannot turn this around on me. I will purify this Universe and remake it so that there is no disease, no hunger… Don’t you dare compare your fucking revenge to my situation. It only makes you look stupid beyond reason.”

Kazuki moved the Gardius’s in place before they all raised the Swords all at once. As their barriers were struck repeatedly, the four elements gathered once again, this time things were slightly different. Not only did they each other and fuse four different elements but they also all contained the severing sword forms and these magic attacks were all wrapped in Chaotic energy.

“Even if I don’t compare them, the fact remains, you are trying to control everything and every one as if they are your toys. Tell me Belux, is this what your wife and child would have wanted? I know exactly what it’s like to suffer such losses but it does not mean I have the rule or authority to destroy everything. In a Universe with rules, you may bend them but never break them. What you are suggesting goes entirely against the natural order. I know this and so do you. You can see it… where this path leads. What makes life, life, and death, death, if you play with them so carelessly, then they shall be worthless. When they become worthless in your hands, whatever noble intentions you started with become warped, and in doing so, you become the thing you hate most, the Supreme Being.”

Belux became silent for a moment. Kazuki knew he had tapped the root of something but he did not know that it was actually an unending fury.

The mist began to vibrate and shake as if it were on the verge of rupturing. Kazuki was not going to wait around for whatever came next and with a thought the remaining five Gardius’s launched the 3 layered magic attack all at once.

The power of the fused four elements, the severing sword forms buried deep within, and Chaotic energy wrapped around all of it. This attack was on an entirely different level. Just controlling it was a challenge in itself and took Kauzki’s full focus and concentration. He could feel an emptiness unlike any other once this attack was launched.

Chaotic space around the surrounding area was tearing at the fabric of reality and the Universal Laws were warping as the Universe itself was suffering from this attack.

Just as Kauzki launched all five of these attacks at once, Belux spoke coldly.

“What would you know of my loss? You lost two women and one child, a handful of friends, a mother, a father, a brother, and a master. I have had countless lives. So many that some even seem to run together. You lost one mother…I lost an infinite amount. You lost a single unborn child, I have held the cold corpses of billions of my children, the ashes of hundreds of millions of wives. The blood of my brothers and sisters could fill enough Realms to drown any God. You do not know what true loss is. I now have a new goal. I will do everything in my power to keep your soul from deteriorating. After I reset the Universe, I will personally make sure you understand what loss really means. You will suffer for an eternity and I will be there to WATCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCH!”

Belux roared with all his might. The dark mist became like sharpened shrapnel as it all launched outward in every direction as if countless Lower Realms exploded all at once.
