Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 21
Kazuki had returned from the void of Chaotic space. A place deemed impossible to escape from but he had done it. Not alone of course but still, he and the other Artifacts had done what was thought to be impossible.
Arc and Codex celebrated and cheered loudly through telepathy while Sword danced and slashed around Kazuki like an excited dog wagging its tail. Kazuki as well smiled brightly. Taking in a deep breath, he smelled the fresh cold mountain air and felt his body come alive.
“Finally…I made it.”
After a few moments, Arc’s curiosity got the best of it and it wandered.
“Kazuki, now that we’ve left that awful place, you have to tell me, What in the 7 Realms of Hell happened? How did you acquire control of this Gauntlet?”
Kazuki now wore the golden gauntlet artifact on his left hand. The silver wings fluttered no more but that took none of its brilliance away. Just as he was about to explain, the sound of air whistling and howling echoed in the sky above them.
(It looks like we have company. I don’t wish to bother these beings any more than I have.)
With a thought, the light around Kazuki bent and he vanished from sight. Not only that but his scent disappeared and he became so quiet that nothing in this Realm could possibly sense him. He observed in silence as the natives arrived. A handful of them flew over and stopped in the sky.
These people all had red skin and pointed ears. Besides that though, they resembled humans. The moment they arrived, they began to speak in an odd language but this language was easily discernable for anyone at the 7th stage, let alone a Demigod like Kazuki.
“Master, the Disturbance came from this spot. There was an incredibly powerful energy source that impacted this exact spot but there doesn’t seem to be anything here.”
After one spoke another responded.
“That’s impossible. The entire world trembled just now. Whatever caused it has to be here. Find it at once!”
Kazuki did not care about this conversation or these creatures. With a simple step, his body accelerated upward faster than light and he appeared in space.
He did well to hold his power back, otherwise, even the slightest breath of his could destroy this entire Lower Realm.
(This place is far too fragile. I’ll return to the Higher Realms at once and find the kids. Arc, can you give me a location?)
Arc was still out of Origin energy so he could not open a rift strong enough to take Kazuki to one of the Higher Realms. Kazuki though no longer needed Arc to do this for him. A regular Demigod could ascend to one of the three Higher Realms just by becoming a Demigod and holding Divine energy within them.
The only problem though is that one would not know where they would end up. With Arc’s power, it could share its senses and Kazuki could look for the kid’s exact location.
Arc did just that. It allowed Kazuki to tap into its senses and it did not take long for Kazuki to find Kosaru’s whereabouts. Because of the strange power inside of Kosaru, he was the one that stood out the most and was the easiest to trace.
Once he found the location though, there was a problem. The distance from here to there was far too great. With Arc’s ability to teleport temporarily out of commission due to lack of Origin energy, it would be Kazuki that would have to tear open a rift but he was a Demigod, he could only go so far.
His mind connected with the Gauntlet and he tried to see how far it could travel but it was still extremely weak at the moment. It had been divided into three pieces and was still only a third of its former self so to speak. Not only that but its main ability was to travel forward at great speed, not open up rifts to exact locations.
(The Gauntlet’s main ability is to travel in a straight line at high speeds. One can not simply pick a direction and change and pivot in an instant. It can’t teleport as Arc can. I’ll have to rely on my own ability to travel.)
(Kazuki, you may not be able to go as far as I can but you won’t need to. You just need to make it to a city in the Higher Realms. Once you arrive at a city, you can take the Star Gate at said city and travel to whatever city the brats are in. Simple.)
This made sense. So long as he got to a city in the Higher Realm it would just cost him a good deal of wealth to travel to another city using one of the Star Gates. For that, he already had a solution.
(Right, since I can’t go directly to where the kids are, I’ll just have to get as close as possible and go with your idea Arc. For now, use your abilities and take my power into account. Show me the furthest I can go with the energy I currently have.)
Arc quickly did some calculations and discovered a location in one of the Higher Realms that best fit Kazuki’s description. The moment it was done, these same calculations flashed directly into Kazuki’s mind and Arc showed Kazuki the way.
Kazuki’s eyes began to glow with purple light. The fragment he had fused with was showing him what to do. Kazuki slowly reached out in front of himself and with it the power of space began to bend as a rift opened before him.
Kazuki did not even look behind him as he stepped through and to the other side.
The moment he stepped out, it was strange.
He had clearly reached one of the Higher Realms but the suppression one would normally feel in the Higher Realms, Kazuki could tell it was greatly reduced on him. He lifted his hand and closed it tightly into a fist. He felt an unbelievable amount of power.
The amount of energy in a Lower Realm compared to a Higher one was literally Realms apart. He had already felt more powerful than ever the instant he had escaped Chaotic space and was freed from those burdens. Now that he was in a Higher Realm where the energy was millions of times purer. He was reaching a new level with every breath.
Not only was he improving but the normal suppression of a Higher Realm was drastically lower. He wondered if this was also a benefit of fusing with an Artifact.
Kazuki felt a surge of power and couldn’t help but punch at the air in front of him. Immediately a tear in Chaotic space formed. Arc, Sword, and Codex were all shocked and wondered what in the 7 Realms of Hell Kazuki was doing but another shocking revelation happened right in front of them. Kazuki punched out once more and the tear in front of him was forcefully closed.
(I knew it. Something is different?)
Kazuki had felt it, he knew it whether from instinct or something else entirely that something had changed…no, it was he who had changed.
Now that he knew about seemingly every energy in the known universe, it was simple to close a tear of Chaotic space. It would be different if he were in Chaotic space itself but being in the Higher Realm, having absolute control over these different energies, he could manipulate them without Chaotic space interfering and devouring his power.
So long as he was not inside Chaotic Space itself, it would no longer be a threat to his existence.
Kazuki could tell everyone was curious and he quickly gave an explanation. They all understood. They had manipulated these energies as well and it made sense. Inside Chaotic space, you were incredibly limited as to what you could do. In an actual Realm though things were different. The only limit within reason was what you yourself were capable of.
Sword flew around for a moment before slashing at its surroundings. a few tears of Chaotic Space opened all around it. With another swing, it slashed out several different energies that all slammed into the tears which forcibly closed them.
Codex became angry and scolded Sword as if it were a bad dog.
(Sword stop that. Even if you can do it don’t mess around with something just because you heard it explained one time!)
Sword slumped over and quietly began flying back down when Arc transformed back into a ring and began opening up its own Chaotic space tears. A second later, a bolt of purple lightning shot forward and slammed into the tears closing them.
“Hmm, even your brother’s sword forms work on this side Kazuki. Out here we can gather enough power that it is unaffected by Chaotic space and with it, we can sever the tears. There are no explosions of Chaotic energy on this side, so it makes it that much easier.”
Kazuki was pleasantly surprised but not shocked this worked so well. He too began to play and test this out. Sword saw this as a go-ahead and excitedly began cutting open more tears and closing them. Codex sighed inwardly before it joined in as well.
