Return of the Fallen Volume 12 Chapter 88
After witnessing Carta’s companion regenerate his hand. One of Dredinkar’s subordinates laughed under their breath. There was no way it would go unnoticed amongst Gods. They all turned and looked at a short male tree folk that stood by Dredinkar’s side. Carta felt she had held in her anger earlier and was not going to let this blatant disrespect stand.
“A bunch of branches dares laugh at one of my men. I guess you would like to be my kindling. I’ll reduce you to ash in one breath if you don’t wipe that ugly grin off your face at once.”
The short tree folk swallowed hard before he actually whispered.
“He got what he deserved.”
Again, everyone here had heightened senses. They all heard this low whisper with ease. Carta could not just stand around without defending her clan’s reputation. A gauntlet formed over her right hand and she launched herself forward like a coiled spring. A terrifying force followed her fist as she aimed directly for this tree folk’s head.
The tree folk tried to retreat backward in a panic but Carta’s movements were far too fast for him. Dredinkar was forced to make his move. Two sets of his arms unfolded from his side and he just got in front of her and caught her fist.
*BAM!*
He was forced backward several dozen feet. Digging his heels into the ground, he dug up the land around him and even this was not enough to keep him stable. His back hit his companion and only then did he have a chance to rebalance himself and finally after using up a good deal of power did he come to a stop.
(Damn this immature brat is quite powerful. I didn’t use my other set of arms but it was close. To think I was almost forced to by a brat less than a few thousand years old. Just how much of a monster did the patriarchs of the Blake clan raise?)
“Dredinkar, is this how you teach your subordinates? They constantly mock and laugh at my side and you don’t reprimand them. Get out of the way so that I can show your maggot-infested trees what it means to laugh at a Blake!”
Dredinkar shook his head.
“I won’t move because if I do you will kill him. Instead, we will both apologize to you and bury this now before it gets out of hand. Please accept our apology.”
Dredinkar grabbed his subordinate’s head and forced him to bow along with him and the two both expressed their apologies. Carta felt a rush of blood and was not satisfied with a simple bow.
“After getting me this worked up you think it will end without some blood being spilled? I don’t want sorry’s I want you to feel some pain. Only when you have suffered physically will you know my humiliation. After that, then we can talk about you bowing your head.”
Dredinkar could see Carta really wouldn’t listen to reason.
(Damn the Divine energy in this place is quite scattered. Do I really have to waste a card or two here for this immature little imp?)
Carta began gathering power in her gauntlet. A white flame coated her fist. Dredinkar looked to Specxzu, and even if his expectations were low he thought maybe, just maybe the damn wasp would give a helping hand. In the end, though Specxzu just watched on with interest.
Dredinkar sighed inwardly before he too began to gather the power of water on one hand, the power of wind in another, and the power of stone in a third arm. The three arms with power formed a triangle-like shape in front of him and he accepted that they would have to settle this dispute before going forward.
Carta smiled seeing Dredinkar prepare to fight and could wait no longer. She kicked off the ground and sped forward. Her fist came rushing forward like an uncontrollable tidal wave and Dredinkar’s three hands seemed to fuse for a split second as a different kind of energy erupted forth.
Just as these two powers were about to collide, a hand reached forward and caught Carta’s fist, stopping her dead in her tracks. At the same time, another hand came flying faster than anyone could see and parried Dredinkar’s fused attack. His grey arms flew to the side and the strange power he had gathered shot out like a beam of plasma before it struck a mountain in the distance.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOM!*
The entire mountain exploded and disappeared without a trace. A powerful shockwave came flashing toward them and contained enough force to destroy several billion Lower Realms.
After a moment the shockwave subsided and silence permeated the area.
Kazuki stood directly in front of a confused and shocked Dredinkar and Carta. Not just those two but everyone there besides Specxzu was shocked. One could not tell what expression Specxzu had with his wasp-like features.
Carta knew how strong her own punch was and the devastation it could cause. The number of Gods who could walk away from her blow was incredibly small. At the very least they would suffer a grave injury. For proof of that one would not have to look far as just a second ago she had KNocked back Dredinkar with a weaker blow. This one though contained a large portion of her power and strength.
Yet, to her shock, Kazuki her seemingly with ease. This though was only the first shock she and the others would experience. Dredinkar had destroyed a mountain in the distance with his shot. They had seen earlier just how difficult it was to damage the landscape around here. It had taken a soul weapon just to scratch the surface of the ground. Yet Dredinkar had completely destroyed a mountain.
This already was insane to comprehend but the layers only went deeper when one considered Kauzki had deflected this attack with a single arm. At the same time, he dealt with Carta. The fact that he was fast enough to intervene at all and the fact that none of them could feel an ounce of Divine energy from him when he did it.
They all wondered just how powerful Kauzki actually was.
Kazuki stood between the two and he held their hands in his grip. They had been so shocked from a second ago that only now did they realize he was still holding onto them.
Carta tried to pull her hand free but Kauzki’s vice-like grip clamped down and held her tight. SHe could not remove her hand from his even with all her strength.
“Let me go right now, you bastard. Otherwise
Before she could finish her sentence Kazuki roared at her.
“OTHERWISE WHAT!”
This sent a chill down her spine and she felt genuine fear. Her feeling fear made no sense. She was a Dragonborn, she was set to become the next patriarch and leader of her clan. She didn’t even fear her grandparents and they were the strongest she knew of. Her eyes widened and she couldn’t form any words. Her comrades were about to rush in but Fleck and Nala drew their weapons, creating a standoff.
Dredinkar also tried to remove his three hands from Kazuki’s grip but found out that even he could not beat Kazuki’s pure raw strength. Kazuki glanced at him and he smiled as if he hadn’t just tried to pull away.
Far off into the distance. The previously destroyed mountain quickly began to repair itself.
“What do you think you’re doing Carta?”
Carta looked up at Kazuki with a confused look.
“Ever since we got here, no, even before that you have been reckless. Diving into the tunnel before anyone knew of the danger. Your comrade attacking the wall and then you using enough force to destroy not only his hand but to also hit the wall behind him. Because of these actions, we were all put in danger. Then when we get here you and the Speckxzu both not listening to Dredinkar when we all agreed for him to lead. To top it all off you start a fight in this weird place with limited Divine energy because someone pointed out your faults. I’m not saying no one else has made mistakes but you by far are the worst. We don’t know where this place is exactly nor what lies ahead and you want to do this. If you wish to complain about someone or something, first you best look inside.”
Kazuki then let both of them go and walked over to Fleck and Nala.
“If you all can’t control yourselves, I think it’s best we go our separate ways here and now. Lest we drag one another to our inevitable dooms before we ever reach the treasure.”
Carta stood there stunned with a blank expression. Her comrades rushed over to her to check on her. Dredinkar as well was slightly stunned. Looking down at his wrists, he had marks on all three of them. Very quickly they healed though but still, seeing bruising on his wrist was something he never thought he would ever experience as a God.
Kazuki, Fleck, and Nala began to walk away when Specxzu blocked their path.
