Return of the Fallen Volume 13 Chapter 17
The first exercise or practice to be implemented to gain better control over aura was actually pretty simple in most regards.
Kazuki had Monsuta pick up a piece of burning bone.
Mosnuta lifted a bone as thick as a log into the air.
“Is this all Kazuki?”
“No. Now I want you to break the bone.”
Monsuta looked at Kauzki as if he were joking. He could shatter this burning bone into a million pieces if he so wished. Just as he was about to make it explode, Kazuki stopped him.
“One moment. There’s a rule I’d like to add.”
Kazuki bit his thumb allowing a small amount of blood to drip out. With a bit of his fire magic, he prevented it from drying up and burning away. With a flick of his finger, a few drops of blood flew forward and hit the burning piece of bone in three separate spots. With a thought, the blood spilled down and drew three separate lines. In doing so, the burning bone was marked so that the burning bone was measured into fourths. The space between each line on the burning bone was exactly the same.
Monsuta looked on curiously.
“Kazuki, what are these lines of blood for?”
“Simple. The rule I have for you is to break the bone in anyplace except for the two middle spots. The far left side of the bone as well as the far right, destroy it to your heart’s content but leave the center part alone and undamaged.”
Monsuta felt that this was too easy.
“No problem just watch me.”
He was confident but that confidence immediately fell after his very first attempt.
*Crack Snap*
With a thought, his aura used so much force that the entire left side of the bone was blown to smithereens. From the right side, all the way to the dead center, several dozen cracks stretched across the bone in an ugly fashion.
Monuta looked shocked at first and then embarrassed. Kazuki shook his head. His aura took over and he easily put every single piece of bone fragment back together like a child’s puzzle. The control he had compared to Monsuta’s was just far too different. Monsuta watched with both envy and admiration.
“So easily.”
Kazuki nodded before allowing Monsuta to hold the burning bone once more.
“Again.”
Monsuta tried it again but the exact same result played out. Once more Kauzki repaired the burning bone and gave it back to Monsuta.
“Monsuta you are using way too much power. In order to make small adjustments, you must learn to make small movements. I want you to set the bone down. We’re going to try something more physical.”
“More physical?”
“Yes. You see, you’ve never used your soul for the small side of things and only know big movements and brute force. Trying to just change everything at once may be too much. For now, we’ll start with something easier.”
Monsuta set the bone down with a loud thud. Knowing now how loud and big everything he did was, he became even more embarrassed. it was as if only now did he realize just how big he was. Since he just had a growth spurt on top of that, it made his large frame ever more noticeable to himself.
“Now then. I want you to step on this bone with enough pressure to put a single crack in it.”
Monsuta looked at Kazuki with a confused expression.
“What does this have to do with aura?”
“Simple. Aura is an extension of one’s soul. With it, you can feel and sense many things. It is another sense in a sense. Just as touch is a sense. You can physically feel the bone beneath your foot and when you learn to control your strength and weight with each step, where it becomes as natural as breathing. Well, that is when you be able to recall that same feeling with your soul. Afterward, it will be a feeling your soul remembers and you should be able to extend that same feeling to your aura. Does that make sense?”
Monsuta was still kind of confused but he seemed to get it for the most part.
“Look, just give it a try. When the time comes you can place a single crack in this burning bone without fully breaking it, that is when you will see. Trust me.”
Monsuta did not believe Kauzki would lead him astray and decided to at least try what his friend suggested.
Like that, Monsuta began stepping on the burning bone. Instantly he crushed it with ease. With a quick repair from Kazuki, Monsuta went right back at it.
*SNAP!*
Kazuki could see this would take a while. He still had other things he wished to try so he did not wish to keep on repairing broken bones for Monsuta.
Grabbing a boulder, Kazuki’s aura moved with swiftness as he created a small rolling orb. Well, saying small was a bit of a lie when compared to Kazuki. This perfect sphere was almost as big as Kazuki and weighed as much as a few Lower realms. With some simple inscriptions, Kauzki turned this rolling ball into a Golem. Its one and only purpose was to repair the burning bone after Monsuta broke it.
Monsuta watched with bright eyes as the rolling boulder sent out a wave of power and put the burning bone back together piece by piece. If his motivation was already at the sky, it rose to the heavens seeing this interesting golem. It dreamed of making a perfectly shaped sphere like Kazuki.
The sound of repeated smashing rang out as Monsuta began to step on and crush bone on repeat.
While Monsuta was lost in the sauce, Kazuki had his own ideas.
(Now that he’s busy, I can focus on my primordial flame.)
Kazuki sat down, crossed his legs, and shut his eyes. Entering his soul world, he observed the calmness that was his primordial flame.
The very first thought that came to mind was his devouring technique. The dark spinning void at the base of his soul tree.
(Absorbing energy from the outside world and turning it into pure fire element and feeding it to my soul tree is a multi-step process. After fusing with the primordial flame, my body would undergo and do this process automatically after I eat creatures from this world but after a few of the same species, my body would stop producing the pure fire element I need in order to grow. When it comes to physical enhancements, my devouring technique has a masterclass in the evolution of the body. I can skip the soul growth and go straight to growing my strength by using my spinning void.)
Kazuki had far surpassed the so-called physical limits of a Demigod. So much so that he was physically stronger and even tougher than many Gods. With a simple thought, he activated his devouring void and prepared to take in an abundance of energy.
The moment he activated his spinning void and energy had just barely begun to flow toward him. Something completely unexpected happened.
The primordial flame had been a sea of calm one moment and seemed almost as if it were asleep. The moment Kazuki activated his devouring void, the primordial flame became a blazing inferno and thrashed around violently within his soul tree.
The primordial flame burned bright and to Kazuki’s shock, the flame came crashing into his spinning void like a godly hammer.
*BOOOOOOOOM!*
Kazuki felt an explosion erupt within his soul world and he was physically lifted from his ass and thrown into the side of the mountain.
Kazuki’s eyes snapped open as fresh blood poured from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. He felt all of his internal organs had been crushed and his every bone was smashed into a powdery substance. His body was akin to a bag of skin that contained his now liquified insides.
Monsuta rushed over in a shocked state. One second he was practicing, the very next, Kauzki was thrown against the mountain as if he were a rag doll.
“KAZUKI KAZUKI!!!”
Monsuta arrived next to Kazuki and had to peel him from the rock wall where he was embedded. Gently setting him down, he could see that Kazuki was on the verge of death. Monsuta had no clue what to do and was afraid his one and only friend was really about to die.
“KAZUKI WHAT HAPPENED WHAT DO I DO!?”
Monsuta’s words could not penetrate the ear or the mind. Kazuki was completely out of it. If not for his body’s incredible recovery rate, Kazuki would have already died.
If the outside wasn’t bad enough, the inside of his soul world was far worse. Monsuta did not wish to invade Kazuki’s privacy but this was a dire situation. His aura sank into Kauzki’s soul world and he was immediately shocked by what he found.
(What could have caused this!?)
Kazuki’s eyes swirled and his vision went white and then black. Just as his conscious mind began to fade, he heard a cold somber voice from within the flame.
This voice that seemed to hold the power of the universe within, spoke a single word.
“VAZULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.”
