Return of the Fallen Volume 13 Chapter 5
(If this doesn’t work, nothing else will. NOW BURNNNN!!!)
The tornado spinning around him expanded as Kazuki forced all of his fire energy out of him. It collided with the tornado and accelerated the burning like fuel to the flame. The tornado became a fire tornado and the fire energy inside of him was now connected and was drawn directly from inside of him.
The tornado grew rapidly and soon was nearly six hundred feet tall and a hundred feet in diameter. The flames were bright white and blinding. The ash-covered ground was blown apart and the ground began to glow from the heat and melt.
The tornado was like a furnace and Kazuki was the fuel source. As the tornado grew hotter and hotter, the fire energy in Kazuki was almost instantly depleted, well at least his own fire energy was depleted. He still had to deal with the pure fire energy from the hunk of meat he ate.
Without his own fire energy, the energy in the meat had to find a new source. The temperature in Kazuki began to gradually fall and Kazuki sighed in relief but this relief did not last. The t-rex had been watching along curiously and had not left. because of this, when Kazuki’s fire tornado expanded, it also hit the t-rex.
The t-rex took a step forward causing the ground to split. With a light stomp on the ground, the tornado actually rose off the ground.
Kauzki watched this in shock. He did not know what the t-rex was doing but he got an ominous feeling from its bizarre actions. The moment the tornado was lifted off the ground, the t-rex wrapped it entirely within its aura before sending it directly into Kazuki.
Kazuki tried to raise a barrier but it was already too late. This had just happened too suddenly.
His own fire tornado was forcibly pushed into his own soul world. Kazuki felt his soul begin to burn. The pain was beyond comprehension.
Kazuki couldn’t help but stare in disbelief and wonder why the beast had done this. At the same time, the t-rex looked on as if it were enjoying the show.
(Is this all just entertainment for this bastard? Am I merely a toy to this thing?)
Kazuki’s thoughts could only come here. The pain was too much. Any useless thought about the t-rex’s intentions was wasted in this dire situation. The temperature of his body was slowly going down but it was still not enough for his healing ability to keep up with the damage. Now he also had to contend with his soul burning.
(The body is one thing. I can recreate it so long as I have my soul but I cannot recreate my soul. Once it fully disappears it’s gone.)
Kazuki could see his hand was almost down to the bone but ignored it. Slamming his eyes shut, he forced his thoughts into his soul world.
Inside the tornado had fully engulfed his soul tree and the branches were burning away with the ever-flickering tongue of flame.
Kazuki immediately forced everything important into the depths of his soul tree while these branches began to turn into ashen particles and vanish.
(How is my own energy burning my soul? This makes no sense.)
The answer hit him as soon as he thought about it. This energy was not just his own but contained aura from the t-rex still.
(This beast, it used my own energy to disguise its energy to enter my soul world.)
Kazuki found that the t-rex’s aura had hidden inside his own energy to basically sneak inside his soul world. He found this to be pretty clever as well as incredibly dangerous. This was not something one would normally come up with.
(I have to deal with its aura first. Only then will my tornado come back under my control.)
Dealing with the t-rex’s aura to deal with his own tornado, to deal with the fire energy from the meat he ate. So many steps to get to his goal but he was not discouraged. Now that he knew the problem, he already had a solution.
(Once I deal with this dinosaur’s aura and have control over my energy, I’ll simply rip the flying reptilian’s meat from my guts and be done with it.)
Kazuki’s plan was a simple one but for this situation, simple was the best method.
Just as Kazuki was going to deal with the enemy’s aura, the aura made a move. Out of nowhere it separated from the fire tornado and connected directly to the fire energy inside the meat in his gut. This time the aura wrapped around the dangerous pure fire energy and brought it directly into Kauzki’s soul world shocking him.
(It’s trying to kill me with this fire!)
Now that the aura had separated on its own from the fire tornado, Kauzki immediately regained control over this attack. the burning of his soul ceased and he was trying to raise a barrier over his soul tree when the t-rex’s aura basically shot directly into his soul tree while carrying the prue fire energy with it. Kazuki had reacted too slowly.
He expected to die instantly but to his surprise, his soul tree did not explode or break or burn. No, instead, the t-rex’s aura spread out evenly and distributed the fire energy along with it.
The burning sensation from his gut vanished and inside his soul tree, a new sensation replaced the pain.
A warmth spread through his soul tree and into his soul world. It was as if he was being embraced in a cozy warm blanket.
The feeling was similar to ki spreading through one’s body. Only now did Kazuki realize the dinosaur was not trying to burn his soul but was instead trying to help him.
Kazuki’s soul tree began to glow brighter and brighter and also started to grow and expand. It seemed to pierce the sky in one shot as this pure fire energy became a part of him. The energy was fusing with his soul and with it, new knowledge and understanding followed.
Kazuki felt his soul tremble in delight as it harmonized with this new energy.
Within a breath of time, Kazuki’s soul tree had absorbed the pure fire energy and the part of him that was Artifact resonated with this energy.
(Can…Can I use this energy like Origin energy?)
The reason why this energy felt so familiar, he now realized why.
(This fire energy, it’s almost like Belux’s artificial dark energy. It’s not a replacement for Origin energy but just like Belux’s power, it’s above nearly all other energies.)
Kazuki couldn’t believe this was real. Belux was a being that had been alive longer than everything else in all the universe besides the Supreme being aka Arc. In his lifetime, he had managed to create Artifical Origin energy with his dark energy. This was a power that could suppress Gods and dominate one’s soul.
Kazuki had now encountered this new energy that was just as potent as Belux’s own power.
(What in the 7 Realms of hell is going on? To encounter such a powerful energy, just where am I?)
Kazuki found the new changes in his soul were just like coming home. They were natural and comfortable as if they always were a part of him.
*RAAAAAAAAAAA!*
Kazuki wanted to check on this new part of him but before he could get too deep into it, the t-rex roared. The dinosaur’s aura then shot out of Kauzki’s soul tree and out of his soul world, returning to the source.
Kazuki returned to the real world where he was face to face with the beast. Now that he had experienced the beast’s aura, he could notice subtle changes and micro-expressions. If before he could get the general feel of what the beast wanted, now it was almost like he could understand it clearly.
Not only that but now that the fire energy of this world was a part of him and the very same energy was flowing through the dinosaur, Kazuki’s soul-reading ability could better sense and read the dinosaur’s soul.
It smiled at him and to Kazuki it seemed as if the dinosaur was saying.
“Good, looks like you’re ok now.”
Kazuki did not know what to make of that.
(This beast, it helped me but why?)
Kazuki did not know if the dinosaur would understand its words but he was still grateful, even if it was the t-rex that pushed the food onto him in the first place.
“I don’t know if you can understand me but thank you for saving me.”
Kazuki clasped his hand overtop his fist and gave a slight bow. Only now did he notice that his body had already recovered and he was no more half a skeleton man.
The dinosaur gave a nod and smiled showing its rows and rows of razor-sharp teeth. the stone statue Kazuki made floated over as the beast was playing with it.
“Heh, I like you. I never received a gift before but you gave me one. Give me more since I saved you.”
The dinosaur did not say this out loud but again, Kazuki’s soul-reading ability was picking this up.
“You want more gifts? Sure, that’s not a problem but if I give you something else can you give me something.”
The dinosaur was slightly taken aback.
It roared softly, and again Kazuki picked up what it was trying to express.
“You can understand me, little creature?”
Kazuki nodded with a smile.
This caused the dinosaur to stomp and roar with excitement.
