There was no time to waste. Kori’s aura became like a blade of turbulent wind, as it flew around his ever-dying soul tree. Just as the decaying spread through one of the nearby branches of his soul tree, the blade of aura slashed out with a cold swiftness that could sweep up the average god were they caught off guard.

The branch was severed, and the response was immediate. Kori’s soul tree trembled from top to bottom, and with it, his soul went out of order for a split second.
