Kazuki looked over at Tilly curiously but before he could ask why Tsura had already taken off her simple dress and stood there nude for all to see. Tilly almost fell over from this and threw her hands up.
“Lady I was kidding, why would I need you naked to remove something from your wrist?”
She then slapped Kazuki on the back and smiled.
“Boy, you sure have her trained well, didn’t ya?”
Tsura didn’t quite get what was going on but the main thing was she didn’t need to be naked any longer. Picking up her dress, she casually and calmly put it back on.
Kazuki wanted to explain but found it didn’t really matter as Tilly was already set in her thinking. At least she didn’t seem to think less of him, rather she looked impressed that he had tamed a woman so well. Kazuki could only shake his head.
“Can you stop with that look Tilly, I can feel your judgment.”
“Hehe, no judgment no judgment. Your woman, your rules.”
Tsura and Mei were a little confused by the whole situation. They couldn’t comprehend why it was bothersome to be naked. Being Mangshi, their bodies were naturally naked, only when they walked around in their human form did it seem to be problematic for them to be constantly naked.
A moment later and old Sid walked in carrying a small jade box. He could tell that the atmosphere was odd but he didn’t really care. Handing the box to Tilly he barked a few words at her before he left.
“Be careful with that. If you break it, the cost will be 1,000 Zeni and not a single gold coin less.”
“Yea yea yea I got it. Have I ever broke something of yours before?”
Sid shut the door behind him and ignored Tilly’s trailing words as he had other customers to attend to.
“Tilly, what’s in the box that would cost 1,000 Zeni were it to break?”
Tilly didn’t answer and instead opened the box for everyone to see.
Inside, a small glove sat undisturbed. The part that fits the palm was made entirely of gold while each of the fingers was made of different colored crystals. The thumb was a half white and half black crystal combined. Another finger was a dull grey color mixed with purple. One was part silver and part emerald green. One was an orangish-red and last but least one was sapphire blue.
Kazuki could tell with one look that these colors represented the elements.
(Light, Dark, Time, Space, Wind, Earth, Fire, Water. This glove uses all of the elements or rather is it simply manipulation?)
“Young Tsura, please lie down on the table.”
Tilly’s attitude seemed to change as she spoke calmly.
“Young Ryuta, this is a Sozo glove, Its name means creation and it’s quite the magic tool. There are not too many of these in Treia and the number of people that can actually use them is even less. This tool’s purpose is used to lay down some inscriptions but it can also be used to remove them. The only thing is when I start to use this I will need absolute silence as a mistake could cost your beautiful girlfriend here an arm. I’ll need to concentrate and focus 100% if this is to work, do you get me?”
Hearing that she could lose an arm Tsura sat up in a hurry but Tilly laughed it off.
“Hahaha, it was a joke, maybe a hand but that’s the most extreme side.”
Tsura looked at Kazuki with pleading eyes.
“Hmm, maybe on second thought this isn’t the way we’ll go. I would love to have another card up my sleeve but if she loses a body part, that will impact Mei as well. Thanks anyway Tilly but it looks like I’ll have to find someone else. Tsura, Mei, let’s go.”
Tsura released a sigh of relief and prepared to get off the table. As soon as she was about to get off though, Tilly suddenly jumped on top of her and roared.
“ACTIVATE!”
The entire golden table shined in an instant as did the glove. Tilly grabbed Tsura’s wrist and Tsura immediately felt a burning sensation on her wrist.
*AHHHHH!*
Out of reflex, Tsura kicked with all her strength.
*Boom!*
Tilly was launched backward at an incredible speed and slammed into the door leading into the rest of the shop. The door though was made from simple wood and stood no chance and exploded into dozens of chunks and hundreds of splinters.
Kazuki wasn’t expecting Tilly to out of nowhere pounce on Tsura and had actually momentarily not known what to do. He had seen Tilly as someone a little wild but not dangerous and hurting her didn’t even come across his mind. This pause from him gave Tilly the fraction of a second she needed to grab Tsura.
The light from the golden table faded quickly and Tsura got up in an apologetic panic.
“I’m sorry i’m sorry I didn’t mean to…”
Tsura felt a sense of dizziness take her senses and she fell forward. However, before she hit the ground she grabbed at the only part of the door frame that remained and caught herself. Pausing for a moment she felt an odd sensation between her hands. The wooden door frame for some reason felt more akin to hardened clay instead of regular wood. Looking at her hand she curiously tried to grip it.
*Snap crunch*
The door frame splintered and broke apart under her hand’s strength. Looking at her hand, Tsura’s eyes went wide as she found no wound nor even a single scratch of any kind. It was then that she noticed the Limiter tattoo on her wrist had been scorched away and fresh skin was healing over where her Limiter tattoo used to reside.
(This is, amazing.)
Tsura could feel a continuous rush of energy fill her body. Her strength had increased by several-fold but not just that. Her bones had become denser, her lean muscle had become more toned and compacted. Her skin had become smoother and more supple. Her sight, hearing, etc, had all improved drastically. She found it a little overwhelming as a sudden rush of footsteps came running over, sounded more like a stampede with her new and improved hearing.
Tsura gripped her head in pain as her eardrums pounded. Even looking around at the light was too intense to take and she had to shut her eyes as they continuously felt like needles were stabbing into them. Tsura began to thrash around and howl in pain, as everything seemed to rip apart within her and repair itself stronger then before.
“AHHHHHH!”
Mei became terrified something horrible had happened to her mom and ran over tearfully.
“Mama, what’s wrong? Mama…Mama?”
Several customers as well as old Sid came around a corner and rushed over.
Seeing the broken door, Sid was left with too many questions. Looking over he found Tilly staring at Tsura with a face full of intrigue.
“Tilly what happened, what went wrong?”
Tilly ignored Sid and walked over to Tsura’s side.
(This is interesting. I had seen many Limiter tattoos before but this woman’s tattoo was quite unique. Whoever placed it on her didn’t just suppress her strength but her growth as well and now that I’ve removed her Limiter Tattoo it seems everything within her has improved all at once. I wonder if her body can even handle all of this sensation overload.)
Just as she thought about that, Kazuki walked over and placed a hand on Tsura’s shoulder. Taking in a deep breath, he pulled ki from within him and transferred it over to Tsura. He could feel her muscles tearing and her nerves becoming inflamed and worn thin. Sensing that they were repairing themselves he simply used his ki to speed up the process as well as reduce the pain.
Tilly wondered what he was trying to do but only a moment after he placed a hand upon her shoulder, Tsura’s thrashing settled. She suddenly went limp and lay still. Her howling in agony became a hoarse cry and then a whimper and then nothing. Her chest rose and fell in rhythm and her breathing calmed. Another moment and Tsura slowly opened her eyes and sat up.
Looking around she seemed slightly confused and then embarrassed before Mei jumped in her arms and began to cry. She looked at Kazuki and whispered.
“Thank you.”
No one else heard it but Tilly had read her lips.
(Thank you, what exactly did he do?)
Sid seeing that everyone was fine began to look around at his shop. The door had exploded outward and damaged numerous items. Sid turned to Tilly and shaking his tiny toddler-sized fist at her roared in anger.
“Goddammit, Tilly you old witch. Didn’t I just get done telling you to be careful? Who the hell is gonna pay for all this?”
Tilly went quiet and looked over at Kazuki. Kazuki in return stared Tilly down until she looked away and started to whistle as though she wasn’t involved.
Seeing that no one was willing to step up, Sid lost his patience.
“Someone better pay or I swear to the gods I’ll call the guards and have them send the two of you to the 7th lower realm of hell.”
Sid looked at Tilly and continued.
“Even if your son is the lord of Edngaul, I’m sure he’ll find this the perfect opportunity to finally take that house from under you. So whistle all you want Tilly but it will be I who has the last laugh.”
Tilly’s eyes went wide.
(Damn this little shrimp. Knowing my son, he certainly would be tempted to toss me in a cell. Once he does that he can execute his power as lord of Edngaul and confiscate my house. He’d probably put it up for auction and say the money earned would be paid as compensation to Sid for the damage. With his scheming mind though he’d probably purchase my home for himself and since he’s the lord here, no one would dare to outbid him. Fuck, do I really have to pay for all this shit. This is the last time I’m doing a stranger any favors.)
Tilly reached for her bag at her side and was just about to pay when Kazuki called out.
“Sid the invincible, I will take care of the cost.”
