Reya’s body fused itself back together in a matter of seconds. Her red eyes glowed with a glint of excitement.
“That was interesting. I haven’t been cleaved in half in such a long time.”
The blood that splattered around her body when Muteki sliced her open, like little bugs, they squirmed and crawled over Reya’s skin before seeping into her and rejoining her.
Muteki took a defensive stance and pointed his blade at Reya. His voice gave away how nervous he was as he spoke.
“You, you’re an Azirian.”
His statement sounded more like a question but Reya nodded.
“Of course I am, what did you think I was, a god damn turtle, hahaha.”
Only now did Byki and Varia snap out of it and raise their fist to fight. Though they both shook standing there.
“How can you be here, how can you be this strong and this intelligent? Aren’t Azirians only capable of very little speech?”
Reya overturned her hands and shrugged her shoulder.
“Who says I can’t be here.”
Her answer was met with silence. She then took her hands and stabbed them both into the ground and lifted with her terrifying strength.
“As for why I’m this strong, why should I tell you.”
*Heurh*
With a loud grunt, Reya tore at the ground and a large slab of stone weighing thousands upon thousands of pounds was pulled up into the air before it was then flung at Muteki.
*Hmph*
Muteki snorted. He didn’t know how an Azirian came to being in the land of Treia but one thing for sure, this was no longer a fight he could rn away from. He could not allow a vile creature such as an Azirian to roam these lands unimpeded. Muteki allowed his Mage core to once more be consumed and he felt power course through his body as his Magic glaive responded in kind.
*Shinck*
Muteki slashed the slab of stone in front of him and divided it into two even pieces. Right after he jumped into the sky.
(Knowing the way she moves, she’ll try and run me over as soon as I cut the stone apart.)
Muteki had been ready this time and flew into the air as soon as he sliced the stone in half.
“Nooo!”
A scream to his right drew Muteki’s attention. Reya had gone for Byki instead of him. The same way he learned from her earlier movements, Reya had learned from theirs. She had moved so quickly on the ground before she had launched herself at Byki and snatched him up by the neck. Byki already looked sickly and pale but now that his life was in the hands of this monster, his face had gone a few shades whiter.
Varia fired several fireballs at her back and Muteki rushed over and sliced at her back.
She circled around Byki’s back and the fireballs landed atop his body, setting him on fire. Muteki had better control and stopped his blade just an inch from Byki’s neck but Reya wouldn’t miss this opportunity. She pushed Byki’s head slightly forward and forced his neck on to the blade. Pulling his hair to one side she dragged his neck across the edge of the blade, sending a fountain of blood spraying all over.
Byki’s eyes widened. This had all been way too sudden. One moment he had been in a position to finally deal with a weakened Muteki and the next he was bleeding out.
Reya eld him for a moment before speaking loudly.
“It seems your friends don’t care for you too much. They killed you just to get to me.”
As his body was consumed in flame and blood continuously spilled out, Reya dropped him to the ground below.
*Thud*
Byki stared up at the three hatefully but as the flames melted his flesh and the blood flowed, his vision grew black in no time and he moved no more.
Varia didn’t feel like it was much of a loss but the way Reya did things frightened her. Muteki though was pissed. He would eventually have killed Byki in his own time but in this way, his choice was taken away. Muteki stabbed forward. Reya moved her head slightly and avoided the blade. Muteki only grew angrier and sped up his strikes.
Varia took some distance and spread both her arms out wide as she gathered the element of fire around her.
Muteki’s blade disappeared with his speed but Reya bobbed and weaved from side to side. Occasionally her wings would fold in front of her and slap the glaive away. At the same time, Muteki’s glaive was ripping into her wings, creating large holes and sending purplish-black blood to rain down. Reya still seemed unbothered by it all. Her wings would repair by the time another strike landed upon them and she would then counter with a punch.
Asuna. Shin. and Danny, on the other hand, watched this fighting in terror.
“Asuna we’ve got to get out of here. The way this fight is going, it’s obvious that large woman is going to be the winner.”
Asuna agreed with Danny.
“Yes, not only that, we don’t know what her intentions will be toward us. It’s best we get far away now while we have the chance.”
Asuna and Danny turned toward Shin but he had been unusually quiet since this whole ordeal played out. Shin noticed the two’s stares.
“Right let’s get going.”
Shin picked Sam up and threw him over his shoulder. Asuna as well grabbed Kimi, who even now was still twitching in pain while unconscious.
The three though had no clue which way they should go.
*Bang!*
Another loud crash rang out in the sky above and that lit a fire under their asses. Danny ran forward ahead of everyone and Asuna and Shin followed after him, Sam and Kimi in tow.
Reya took notice of their direction but didn’t bother giving chase. Muteki on the otherhand could care less about the other heroes at this point. Right now the only thing that mattered was slaying the monster in front of him.
Muteki thrust his glaive toward Reya’s chest but instead of dodging like usual, she allowed the long blade to pierce her. Muteki smiled in delight and went to pull his blade to try and give her a fatal blow when Reya smiled back and grabbed the body of the glaive and held it in place. As blood ran down her smiling mouth, she reached out with her other hand to grab Muteki’s shoulder. Alarm bells went off in his head and several spikes stabbed out from his armor and into her hand, filling it with holes.
Reya didn’t even wince in pain and her hand continued forward. Muteki couldn’t release the blade though. If he did, his power would reduce drastically and he would no longer be able to do any real damage. At the same time, he couldn’t allow himself to be grabbed by her. With her strength, she could potentially crush him with a single squeeze.
As his thoughts were in scrambles, Varia shouted from above.
“LET GO!”
Muteki didn’t hesitate and released his glaive, at the same time he flew backward. He felt his power and strength fall to despicably weak levels but he had no choice. As he let go though, Reya looked up in the sky and a single word escaped her lips.
“Oh.”
*FWHOOOOSH!*
With her arms spread out, Varia had gathered a torrent of blazing flames that circled into a spiral. The spiral expanded almost instantly and shot down toward Reya like a bolt of lightning. A tornado of fire alone wrapped around Reya and consumed her entirely. The heat was nasty and the high temperature of the air could melt the lungs of a normal person in seconds. Even Muteki who was a distance away felt all the sweat covering his body vaporize. These flames would have hurt him as well if he were closer. Since he used fire as his second element though, he could still deal with them somewhat.
Reya’s body fell out of the sky with a mild thump. The tornado of flame did not stop though. It continued to burn away at her. It stole her flesh and scorched her bones. Her eyes popped from the heat and her hair was gone before one could blink. The snow within a hundred-foot radius had melted and then vaporized in an instant, turning into steam. The steam expanded out in every direction and caused an explosion. This caused a force of air to spread out and rip into anything close to it.
Both Muteki and Varia was thrown backward by the force of the wind and tumbled about in the air for hundreds of feet before they could finally regain any semblance of balance. Even the village that was a few hundred feet away was affected. A few buildings on its outer edge were crushed by the explosion and sending a few buildings crashing down. Thousands of pounds of wood and stone were tossed up high into the sky before they came raining down back on the village.
Many villagers scattered and ran away in fear while screaming at the top of their lungs in panic. They had been terrified earlier and didn’t even dare peak out as the battle in the sky was happening but as their homes collapsed around them, they had no choice but to run outside to find better cover.
Varia’s tornado of dire burned for several minutes and there was no movement from within. After a few minutes more, the tornado of fire, with no more energy fueling it, burnt out and dissipated. As the smoke cleared, what was left was a glowing ground of heated rocks. Cracks had formed all over the ground and heat constantly rose from underneath. In the center of it all, a body completely charred black, with Muteki’s weapon still embedded in it, lie still and unmoving.
