*GSSSHK!*
Purplish black blood sprayed out from Abura’s hand as a large gash was carved out by an unknown blade.
Abura was in no pain but muscle had been clearly sliced apart and his grip on Sam’s side had weakened considerably. The tide changed and Sam felt some relief but he and the others were still struggling.
Danny at this moment appeared behind Shin a clear blade in his hand.
“Behind you!”
Shin got the hint and let go of Abura’s arm before leaping out of the way. Danny dashed into Shin’s previous spot and brought the sword down in a decent curve.
*Gssshk*
With this second strike, Danny cut Abura’s hand even deeper but it still wasn’t quite enough. Danny brought the blade up and swung once more with everything he had.
*Crack*
This strike was the one and Danny severed Abura’s hand from his wrist. Asuna saw this and reacted right away.
“Shin get back in and help Danny! Let’s get this fat bastard out of here!”
Shin didn’t hesitate and grabbed the rest of Abura’s arm and Danny’s clear sword vanished as he grappled Abura’s side.
Asuna yelled out.
“Push push push!”
Everyone gathered their strength and like a well-oiled machine they pushed Abura step by step toward the exit. Kimi dropped the rock she had been using to repeatedly bash out Abura’s eyes. She as well began to push with everything she had.
Sam dug his heels into the ground and lifted. As the momentum built, Abura was once more lifted off of his feet. Building on that, everyone pushed Abura onto his back and literally rolled him out of the cave in one go.
As soon as they had made it out of the cave Asuna jumped back and ordered.
“Everyone back up and surround him!”
A circle formed around Abura. Everyone stood just out of his reach as he slowly made it back to his feet.
Shin yelled at Asuna.
“Now what!?”
Asuna had no clue. Her main objective was to get Abura out of the cave so they could get out. Otherwise, they would not have been able to beat Abura in such close quarters and they would have died by his hands. Eaten by the monster. Once outside, she knew they needed to do something fast but she didn’t have any sort of real plan.
Abura took a step forward and Danny made a quick suggestion.
“We have to kill him, Garn mentioned the removal of the head long ago, and Reya herself put Abura in a sleep-like state when she would break his neck. We need to decapitate him!”
Asuna didn’t even have to think after hearing that.
“His limbs, he can regenerate quickly so we’ll have to pin him instead of hacking away one at a time. Hold him down and…”
Asuna looked at Danny.
“That weird blade, can you bring it out again?”
Danny was already sweating. He wasn’t sure himself if he had what it took but going over it in his head it should work.
“If I have time…I believe I can do it again.”
Asuna took his words to heart and believed them before she gave out her orders.
“Sam you take the legs! Don’t let him build momentum. Kimi, you take his left arm, and Shin you take the right. I’ll try to keep him off balance. GO!!”
Sam sprinted at Abura, leaving a trail of blood after each of his steps, his side aching and his exhausted muscles screaming at him.
Sam grabbed both of his legs but he could no longer lift him after using nearly everything in his tank. Abura swung down his clawed fist on top of Sam’s back, Knocking Sam down to his knees but Sam refused to let go. As Abura swung down once more, Shin appeared like a ghost and kicked Abura’s fist with everyything he had.
(I may not be able to use my Viper Whip in its entirety but this much should help.)
A small blade of wind burst out from his kick. It was nowhere near the three feet long wind blade Shin could muster up with a magic tool but it was still effective. It was only 2 inches long but it severed through three of Abura’s fingers. This wasn’t enough though and Shin finished by delivering his kick into Abura’s arm.
Abura’s blow was slightly diverted and missed Sam by a thin margin. At the same time, Kimi appeared on Abura’s other side and grabbed his arm. This time the objective wasn’t to push but to pin him. Kimi pulled down with all her strength using her only arm. She wasn’t strong compared to the others but she was still well above the average person of this world. She pulled Abura’s arm with hundreds of pounds of force. At the same time, Abura’s hand was healing rapidly, Kimi dug her nails into the wound and tore away at it. The new flesh wasn’t as tough as the rest of his body and so she just managed to slow it down.
Asuna circled around Abura’s back and began delivering punches and kicks at his weak spots. Back of the knee, lower back, and waist. She delivered blow after blow but Abura’s body was truly tough and she was barely doing anything.
She yelled at Danny.
“Are you there yet!?”
Danny’s concentration was ruined at that moment and the power he felt gathering vanished. He screamed back in retort.
“SHUT THE HELL UP I NEED NO DISTRACTIONS!”
Asuna had no time to be angry and focused on Abura’s every movement. At the same time, Danny’s eyes closed and he concentrated deeply on one image and one image alone.
(Concentrate, remember exactly how he did it. Kazuki did it like this.)
A memory played out in Danny’s head repeatedly and as it did, his hand and fingers began to slowly move and shape in odd fashions. A small power began to gather in his hands.
(Kazuki made this sign and then that one as well. Remember how he used it and copy it.)
Sam recovered to his feet and stomped as hard as he could on Abura’s foot.
*Pop*
The sound was small but they all heard it clear as day. Sam had broken a bone. Samed heaved as he took in air and he proceeded to stomp down on Abura’s other foot. Again a small sound resounded out.
*Pop*
It wasn’t just a coincidence. The thought following this would be that Abura was growing weaker but that would be incorrect. How could a creature such as Abura weaken out of nowhere? No, it was the opposite. If Abura wasn’t weakening then instead it was Sam who was growing stronger.
Sam took in another deep breath. He himself wasn’t aware but every breath he inhaled came with the tiniest amount of earth energy.
No one knew what was going on but they knew Sam’s attacks were effective. Sam changed his grip right after he broke a few bones in Abura’s foot and he, concentrated on one leg instead of two. He lifted Abura’s leg slightly and Asuna grew excited.
“Good, keep that up, Sam!”
Asuna backed up nearly 20 feet.
(If I cant use more strength then I’ll just have to add speed to strength.)
Asuna ran forward as fast as she could. Instead of delivering punches and simple kicks, she would add momentum to her attacks. Leaping into the air, Asuna put her feet together and came crashing down with a dropkick. She aimed for the back of his knee once more.
Something in Abura’s eyes flashed.
(Devour!)
Just as Asuna was about to connect…
*Schink schink schink schink schink schink schink schink schink*
All at once, dozens upon dozens of fleshy spikes protruded out of Abura’s body all at once. Asuna who was coming in for a dropkick was stabbed all the way through one of her feet and into her shin bone. She fell to the ground and rolled a few times. Kimi as well was stabbed but she faired far worse then Asuna. Several holes appeared on her chest and a few on her lower half as well. Sam was the worst off and was stabbed almost 10 times. If shin didn’t pull Sam away at that moment, Sam would have been swiss cheese.
Shin as well had been stabbed but his reaction and speed were truly above the others. He was stabbed twice but both wounds were quite shallow and superficial.
With everyone off of him, Abura turned to the nearby Kimi and grabbed her by the ankle.
“AHHHHHH!”
Kimi began to scream immediately as Abura picked her up and opened his mouth wide in anticipation. The thought of having another limb ripped off and eaten sent Kimi’s mind spiraling uncontrollably as her trama was dug up. She hated Abura with everything she had but at the same time, she feared such a monster even more.
Asuna struggled to her feet but fell over as her she felt the bone in her leg was broken.
“KIMI!!”
Sam screamed out Kimi’s name in desperation and rage and knocked Shin off of him. Shin didn’t expect this and was sent flying 10 feet into the air. Before Abura could take a bite, Sam came forward with a punch.
“LET HER GO!”
Abura said nothing and extended another fleshy spike towards Sam’s fist. Sam saw this but he didn’t care. His rage, hate, anger, love joy, sadness, every emotion was running wild within him and his fist didn’t slow at the sight of this sharp spike but instead accelerated.
“AHHHHHH!”
Sam screamed as his punch connected with the metal-like fleshy spike.
*BAM!*
As Sam’s fist connected with the armor-like spike the resulted scene of Sam’s fist being torn apart didn’t come to pass. The opposite happened instead. Abura’s spike was crushed in one blow but Sam’s fist didn’t stop. It landed upon Abura’s chest.
*Crack pop pop snap*
Several bones were shattered as Abura’s chest sunk inwardly by six inches. Even as Sam got in this close, the spikes that should have torn into him were all bending out of the way. Abura stumbled back a few steps from this blow and Sam took the opportunity to grab Abura’s arm with one hand and grabbed his newly grown fingers that gripped Kimi. Holding Abura’s arm for leverage, Sam proceeded to exert a never before seen strength and folded all of Abura’s fingers back in one go. All of them broke at once and Kimi was released from Abura’s grip.
Shin ran in and scooped Kimi up, catching her before she hit the ground and retreated backward before yelling back.
“Do it Sam!”
