Laying in the open darkness, danger could appear from nowhere. With heavy and exasperated breaths, Kazuki was still recovering from suffering the aura that came crashing down on him moments before. With a body full of broken bones and torn muscles, right now, Kazuki should be filled with fear and desperation from being so vulnerable out in the open. However, at this moment, a large grin stretched across his face as he inspected his Mage core and soul world.

A small energy seemed to swirl in the center of his soul. Coming from deep within, a sliver of energy started to grow from inside him.

(This is…Aura.)

Kazuki grew excited as he carefully inspected this new energy within him.

(How did this happen? What was the catalyst?)

Kazuki ran through Glacious’s memories and knew that in order for one to create their very own aura, one needed to have a very powerful soul, one that was equivalent to at the very least 5th stage. He who was only at the 4th stage was perplexed until he thought about it deeper.

Grabbing the golden compass around his neck, he squeezed it tightly.

(I’ve been manipulating the godly aura every single day and it’s basically become second nature to control it. Not only that, I’ve noticed that every time I’ve circulated the godly aura within me, it’s allowed my soul to strengthen slightly each time. It was at such a small level though that I never thought my soul would have been improved so much that I could form my own aura. My soul has been growing and steadily improving every single day but that alone shouldn’t be enough for me to create my own aura.)

Kazuki delved deeper into Glacious’s memories and recalled how one was supposed to make an aura. Only after having a powerful enough soul as well as being able to control one’s soul would they have the initial starter to create their own aura. Kazuki accidentally met the requirements. By practicing control over the godly aura every single day he knew how to use it and also enhanced his soul at the same time. Not only that, but he’s also had first-hand experience with not only his soul but with his brothers and Danny’s as well.

The only thing left was the spark to jumpstart everything. The first time he took control over the godly aura was when he was falling to his doom in this very trench. Just when he was on the brink of slamming into the ground and dying, a desperate will to survive came from the very depths of his being and exploded forth allowing him to control the godly aura and force it into his broken black ruler.

Once again he had that same desperation, that same unwillingness to give up, roll over and die. Something almost instinctual clawed its way out while he was being crushed to death, and the result was a tiny seed of aura in his core.

Kazuki curiously willed the small seed of energy forward. However, as soon as it came to the edge of the inside of his Mage core, it stopped in its tracks. It could go no further. Looking into it, Kazuki quickly found the reason. In the end, the simple fact was, that his aura was still too small. Just stretching it from the center of his Mage core to its surface nearly made it fall apart.

(There’s not enough of it yet. I’ll need to train with it. Glacious has many ways to strengthen it and allow it to grow so I shouldn’t have trouble but the main concern is time. As it currently is, my own aura does not compare to the godly one and this godly one is already fairly weak compared to the creature inside the cave or Glacious’s…Maybe…)

A small idea popped into Kazuki’s head.

(My Mage core has absorbed the godly aura on multiple occasions and so has my soul. This has helped increase my physicality as well as been a benefit to my senses. After circulating the godly aura, my senses and strength have improved continuously, what about if my aura directly absorbs the godly aura coming from my compass?)

*WHOOOSH*

(NOOOOOO!)

Kazuki had been lost in thought and laid there and now the wind once again shot out of the cave.

Kazuki knew he had no time but tried to get up and flee but his body was still jacked up from the first crushing aura. He tried to sit up but found the pain to be excruciating and he fell right back down on his back. The very next moment, a dangerous aura followed the wind and came crashing down over every square inch of Kazuki’s body.

Kazuki felt his bones creaking and his organs being squeezed. The air in his lungs was forced out of his diaphragm and he couldn’t breathe.

(Why did it come back!?)

Several layers of ki covered Kazuki followed immediately by several layers of the godly aura. A tiny relief but not enough to allow Kazuki to move or return his breath.

(The last time this happened, the wind and aura lasted for at least half a minute. Does that mean it will last once more for that long. No, that’s assuming too much, and I can’t last that long anyway. Have to get away from here.)

Kazuki cut a small portion from protecting his mind and sent it to the broken ruler around his waist.

(Like a pole volt, I’ll increase the size of this and it will push me away from the range of this damn aura.)

Kazuki sent some of the godly aura to his black ruler and called out in his mind.

(Expand!)

The black ruler slowly started to expand from his waist and pushed against his side. Kazuki stiffened his stomach by flexing his abs. This way the ruler would push his whole body away and not just sink into his gut. At the same time, he aimed the other end of the ruler into the ground so it would have a solid surface to push him away. This was a good idea, it really was but a problem quickly occurred. The amount of godly aura he used wasn’t enough. The broken ruler extended but only by about a foot. It was still in its bottle form and therefore expanded awkwardly.

Kazuki had to use more energy on his ruler but to take more away from his mind and the azirian blood would quickly replicate.

(That doesn’t matter. I’ll isolate it as soon as I’m free but the main objective is to get free and worry about the damned blood later.)

Kazuki was just about to do that when a nagging feeling itched at the back of his head. The idea from before popped up but Kazuki quickly threw the idea away.

(Now’s not the time, survival comes first.)

Kazuki took the godly aura away from his mind and tried to stuff it into the broken black ruler all at once, however, the godly aura had a mind of its own. As soon as Kazuki pulled it away from his head, the godly aura changed direction and raced toward his Mage core. Kazuki didn’t even have time to be shocked as the godly aura drove directly into his Mage core and disappeared.

*Crack crunch crack*

Several bones broke all over Kazuki’s body and he snapped back to reality. He had no clue what happened to the godly aura protecting his mind and had no time to worry about it. His attention was on the crushing aura. A million thoughts ran through his mind all at once and he became more than desperate but sadly no miracles were there for him.

As his mind started to go black, flashes of his brother and Danny sparring appeared in his mind. Not just that, Kazuki also recalled Glacious’s use of Kai’s sword technique. Kazuki had never used any of Kai’s moves before but he understood the basic concept.

(Big brother uses energy to cut energy. When he draws his blade, he puts everything into a single stroke. The power to separate, the power to cut everything. The 3rd form.)

Kazuki desperately gathered ki into his fingertip and tried to copy Kai’s sword technique.

(3rd form, Severing Tempest!)

He felt an odd sensation at the tip of his finger but he could move it whatsoever under the crushing weight of the aura leaking from the cave. Not even a second later, he started to lose the feeling and his vision blurred.

BOOM

Kazuki didn’t know where it came from but it sounded like a volcano erupted right next to his head as his consciousness shook. This snapped him awake and he felt it… Deep within, his own aura was expanded at a terrifying rate. First, it was the size of a seed, and the very next instant it was the size of a fist, then a head, then a boulder, and so on. Bigger and bigger and bigger. His aura was expanding outward from his body now. As it came into contact with the aura crushing him, it started to get pushed back. Kazuki instinctually called out in his mind.

(FOLD!)

His aura suddenly folded over itself and made a second layer and then folded again making two more. Again and again, it folded until it was 8 layers thick. The aura pressing down on Kazuki at this moment was reduced by half. Kazuki finally could breathe again and took in a heavy yet a fresh breath of air.

Finally, his aura made two more layers before it could make no more. With the suppressing aura reduced by more than half, Kazuki gathered his strength and kicked away from the ground. He sent himself flying nearly 20 feet where he crashed into the floor but he was no longer under the crushing aura, he had escaped its death grip.

Kazuki wanted to roar out in triumph at this moment, but not even 2 seconds later.

*WHOOOSH*

The flow of air changed entirely and the wind along with the aura once more reversed and was sucked back up into the cave. Kazuki watched this in utter disbelief before a single tear fell down his cheek.

(What…the…fuck!?!?!?!?!?)
