Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 25

Walking up to the counter, A young woman with brown hair styled in a pigtail stood shaking behind the counter. Seeing Kazuki’s approach after he just shook the entire building, the woman felt her knees go weak and she steadily backed away from the counter in fright.

Kazuki scratched his cheek awkwardly.

He just wanted to shake those assholes up a little. He didn’t intend to scare everyone else but of course, their fear was natural. Someone that could cause an entire building to tremble with a single fist was a person they could never contend with.

Just as Kazuki was contemplating how he should speak with the woman turtling up in front of him someone came down the stairs from one of the upper floors with a booming shout.

“WHICH MAGGOT BASTARD DARES TO TRY AND BREAK MY GUILDHALL!”

The man was slightly smaller than Kazuki with dark brown skin. He had half of his head shaved bald with a large tattoo covering the bald half and a scar in the center of his forehead. This isn’t what made the man stand out though. Kazuki could sense the power of the man’s Mage core and knew the man was at the 4th stage. Not only him, but there were also a few men and women that were following behind him. Several of them were several mages and other fighters.

Without taking a look, Kazuki could sense each of the mages were all at the 3rd stage with one of them besides the large man, also being at the fourth stage. The fighters as well all had inscription tattoos enhancing their strength to different degrees.

Kazuki was slightly surprised to see not just one but a second 4th stage among this new group.

When the large man with bronze skin shouted at the top of his lungs, everyone in the guild all pointed in one direction. Kazuki could feel their fingers aimed at him and turned around. The man leading these other members came over huffing and puffing but the moment he couldn’t sense Kazuki’s strength, he slowed down, and his attitude began to change as he recalled something.

“You…Could you perhaps be the one called Kazuki?”

Everyone started to murmur and whisper when they saw the guild leaders change in attitude. He quickly turned and roared at them.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP OF YOU DON’T WANT ME TO REMOVE YOUR LOUSY SKULLS FROM YOUR MAGGOT BODIES!”

A chill ran down these adventurer’s spines as they knew the guild leader was absolutely serious in his threats. Just to make sure though, the followers behind the guild leader, all drew their blades or staffs and aimed in the other adventurer’s direction.

Many people weren’t built for this type of tension. Even if they were supposed to be brave adventurers who face life and death challenges often, they knew when they were outmatched. They understood just how strong the guild leader along with his loyalist was and they took his threat as fact. Quite a few of them couldn’t help but turn tail and run out of the building at that exact moment leaving the guildhall half full in mere seconds.

Kazuki was curious as to how this man knew his identity. At the same time, there was no reason to deny anything and so with a nod, he answered back.

“That’s me but how were you aware of who I was?”

The man’s smiled.

“I’m called Tsahmen and I preside over this guildhall. I am in contact with the lord of Edngaul, lord Jool and he has already told me about the incident that occurred last night. He has told me exactly who you are and described you to me so as soon as I saw you I was able to recognize you.”

Kazuki now understood. He just didn’t expect Jool to spread word of him so soon. He eyed Tsahmen up and down and Tsahmen as well was curious about Kazuki.

“So you know who I am, now what? Does this mean I’m still a bastard maggot since I broke your floor?”

Kazuki’s gaze went cold as he stared Tsahmen down.

Tsahmen on the other hand became nervous and he casually laughed it away.

*hahaha*

“That was then and this is now. I thought it was some ruffian fool purposely causing trouble but seeing that it was a great master such as yourself, you must have had some reason for it right?”

Kazuki gave a nod.

“True, a couple of people had no eyes and couldn’t see. So I showed them. I’m curious though since you know of the incident, why aren’t you trying to take me in?”

Tsahmen took a step back, as he felt a threat in Kazuki’s words. He again laughed nervously.

*haha*

“Who…Which dumb fuck would dare and try and arrest you. The lord’s words are law and he said that no matter what you weren’t to be fucked with, otherwise the consequences and responsibility and so on and so on.”

Kazuki was a little surprised.

(So Tilly’s son isn’t a complete fool. He knows I let him off lightly by just taking the mansion. He understands what I’m capable of and believes that messing with me is pointless to his side. Most people with his level of reputation, influence, wealth, and authority, can’t handle such humiliation and would try everything in their power to find a way to take me down but Jool is different. He seems to somewhat have a good head on his shoulders. Maybe he really is Tilly’s son.)

One of the fighters following along Tsahmen walked up and whispered a few things into Tsahmen’s ear while pointing at the man dressed entirely in red and the rest of his group. Kazuki overheard everything, as the fighter described that he had just gone around the room and gathered quick testimonials from everyone about what went down.

Tsahmen looked at the group who were still too terrified to move from their seat with bloodshot eyes. It seemed as if he would order them dead at any moment.

Kazuki’s ring lit up at this time and a large bag of gold Zeni appeared in his hand. Before Tsahmen could say anything, Kazuki tossed t over to him before pointing at the floor.

“This should cover the expenses to fix the floor. As for others, it no longer matters. This should settle things, right?”

Tsahmen understood what Kazuki meant. Even though the others may have started things, with this it would be settled and Tsahmen shouldn’t press matters any further.

Kazuki also felt slightly guilty. He was being trashed talked and he wanted to shut them up. He didn’t want to be a hypocrite like Zetrazz and simply beat some fools just because they were talking shit. So instead he took his anger out on the building while at the same time putting some fear into that group. This though was a bit over the top in his opinion.

(Next time I’ll simply goad them into a fight and then give them a simple beating. There’s no need for me to ruin buildings because of those roaches.)

Kazuki had decided what to do next time and turned his attention back to Tsahmen.

“With that over, the reason I came here.”

Tsahmen snapped out of it. Things seemed to have come to an abrupt ending out of nowhere. Tsahmen had expected someone with Kazuki’s power to be haughty and act superior. He thought Kazuki would want a grand apology and some crazy gesture from him since he was in charge but surprisingly, Kazuki would pay to fix the damage he caused and wished to settle things so simply. This made Tsahmen confused for a few brief seconds and he had to process this real quick.

“So, the reason you’ve come here. Could it be something we can not know? Is it something secretive or one of the highest missions we have, you wish to accept one or…

Before Tsahmen rattled away for too long Kazuki interrupted him.

“No, nothing like that. I’ve only come here to hear about the latest news. I was wondering if there was anything about senior Glacious or something like that.”

When Tsahmen heard senior Glacious his eyes widened.

“Senior Glacious, could you be talking about Glacious the dragon slayer?”

Kazuki remembered Glacious’s title he had gotten after slaughtering most of his clan long ago.

(If this man knows about that lizard then does that mean there really is news of him?)

“Yes, Glacious the dragon slayer, is there any news of him. I’m looking for his current whereabouts. If there is any sighting in any areas then I would like to hear about it.”

Tsahmen as well as all the others in the guild began to look around at each other. Kazuki didn’t like the weird stares he was getting. It was as if everyone was aware of his senior but him.

“Why is everyone looking at me like this, is there a problem?”

Tsahmen shook his head.

“No, it’s just odd, everyone here knows where the dragon slayer is, as a matter of fact most people on the continent know his whereabouts. It would be hard to find someone who didn’t. You are a rarity among rarity sir Kazuki. Have you been living under a stone?”

Kazuki shook his head.

“I don’t understand. How is it that everyone can know where senior is? Did something happen?”

This time everyone seemed shocked by Kazuki’s question. Tsahmen was dumbfounded as well but he could tell that Kazuki was serious.

“Sir Kazuki…the dragon slayer is on the front lines currently. The continent of Feya…all of us are at war.”
