Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 44
A wild wave of laughter broke out after these Ancient beasts heard what Kazuki said.
A big beast shaped like a bear with four wings sprouting from its large back walked over and placed a paw on top of Kazuki’s head. While still laughing the weird creature spoke.
“Hahaha, I’m in a good mood. First I don’t have to risk my life and then I’m rewarded with treasure as well as a generous piece of territory from this place and now there’s you. Your words are bold small human as well as funny. I’ve decided, I’ll take you as a pet.”
The four-winged bear looked at the other Ancient beasts and announced.
“No one has a problem with that right. This human is a weird one but I like its attitude. Humans are so weak and tend to die just from the sight of us but this one seems to have no fear and is very interesting. Does anyone have any objections?”
The other Ancient beasts joined in on the laugh as well. A few even complimenting the four-winged bear.
“Hehe, that thing will make a fine servant. Look at its stubborn expression. It looks like it thinks it has a choice in the manner. Maybe you should teach your new plaything a little lesson and show it who’s master.”
The bear nodded in agreement. A small bit of aura leaked outward from the bear and with this pressure, it pressed down on Kazuki’s shoulders.
“Kneel my pet.”
The pressure fell upon Kazuki and immediately made his hair flatten a bit. Besides that though, there was no effect.
The bear found this odd but the others didn’t know what was happening as of yet. Increasing the pressure to twice as much as before, the bear spoke again.
“I said kneel.”
The pressure double and pressed Kazuki harder but Kazuki didn’t budge an inch.
The other beast saw that it was taking a while and one joking laughed out and said.
“Heha, what’s wrong, can’t even make a single human kneel before you. I think we’ll have to start calling you the pansy bear at this rate.”
The bear began to grow impatient and to save its reputation it suddenly increased its aura by ten times. The icy beneath Kazuki cracked and a fissure spread out in every direction but again, there was zero effect on Kazuki. It was now that a few of the Ancient beast could tell that something odd was going on. The Bear as well was losing face in front of everyone else. It released all of its aura at once. Only then did Kazuki’s shoulders sink down a mere inch. After a second though, he stood back upright and his eyes turned upward and met the four-winged bears.
The moment the two’s eyes met, a chill ran down the bear’s spine and it felt the imminent threat of death. For a split second, it felt fear. This made the bear enraged and with it, it lifted its large front paw into the air and swung down with everything it had.
“I SAID KNEELLLLLLL!”
*Bang!*
Shards, as well as large chunks of ice, flew up into the air for hundreds of feet followed by a plume of mist that clouded everyone’s vision for a brief second.
The large snake whipped its tail forward and shot out a wall of wind which blew all of the mist away in an instant.
Once the mist cleared, all of the Ancient beasts went silent. The bear was confused why everyone was quiet.
Beneath its feet, a large gaping hole stretched downward into the ice.
“What? This human was too defiant and wouldn’t listen. I don’t need such an ill though pet so I killed it. Do any of you have a problem with what Ido with my own property?”
No one answered him and instead, they continued to stare in his direction in confusion.
The world was filled with a weird silence until a cold voice rang out behind the bear.
“I wanted to see how much I’ve grown and so I let you use your aura on me but damn, to think your actually so weak.”
The bear slowly turned around to see Kazuki, perfectly fine, staring up at him.
“You…I missed…How?”
Kazuki shook his head.
“Unimportant how, instead, what was it you wanted from me. Oh yeah, you wished for me to kneel right? Instead of me kneeling, you kneel.”
Everyone felt as if they had fuzz in their ears. There was no way they were hearing this human say this to an Ancient beast.
The bear felt that rage boiling inside again.
“You want this great being to kneel before a mere human?”
Kazuki nodded.
“Yes. Kneel down right here and now and beg me not to kill you. Otherwise…Death is the only thing that awaits you.”
The bear’s eyes widened, a stunned expression on its face, which quickly turned red in anger.
“You…You want me to kneel?”
The four-winged bear felt all eyes on him. Everyone watched as the small human humiliated him. If this lasted any longer, its reputation would be beneath the ocean itself. The Bear roared out and came swiping down with its large front paw.
“OBLITERATE!”
A silver light gathered around the bear’s front paw and three large wind blades slashed forward. These blades of wind formed in an instant and stretched from end to end for several hundred feet. The blades came flying forward and struck Kazuki in the chest, waist, and legs all at once.
*CLANG CLANG CLANG*
Three distinct metallic rings rang out as Kazuki was struck. After the wind blades hit his body, part of them continued flying off into the distance behind him. The wind blades struck the ice and dissected it before striking the water.
*SPLSSSSHHHHHH!*
Three waves of water, each over 100 feet tall rose up and continued forward into the distance, disappearing from sight.
When the waves rose up, the bear’s paw was still swiping downward before Kazuki casually lifted his own hand.
*BAM!*
Another loud smack resounding metal crashing into metal tore through the air as Kazuki easily caught this beast’s paw.
The other Ancient beast couldn’t believe their eyes as Kazuki held the bear’s paw. The sight of him being cut to ribbons, shredded into oblivion, never took place. From head to toe, there wasn’t a mark on Kazuki’s entire body.
Before any of the creatures had time to question what they were seeing, Kazuki filled his lungs with ki and changed the shape of his vocal cords before perfectly mimicking the bear’s own voice back at him as he roared.
“I SAID KNEELLLLLLL!”
Kazuki gripped the Bears palm with all of his strength and crushed the paw, breaking all of the bones in its hand. Then before the bear could make a move, Kazuki threw his fully regenerated fist into the bear’s stomach.
*Crack Snap Crunch!*
The sound of many bones breaking resounded outward and the bear bent forward from the punch. Kazuki leaped off the ground and delivered a knee directly into the bear’s jaw, shattering it to pieces. As he came back down, he delivered an elbow to the creatures back.
*BAM!*
The bear was now kneeling on the ground, broken bones and blood gushing from its wounds. Kazuki landed atop its broken back and wrapped his arms around all four wings at once. Pushing his right foot into the bear’s back for leverage, Kazuki pulled the wings with a heavy grunting noise.
*ERrrr*
*Ripppppp*
All four wings were torn away with a splatter of blood and tendons. All of this had happened in less than a second. The bear had no time to fight back, no time to utter a single cry or resist in any way shape, or form. As soon as the wings were torn away, the bear’s eyes rolled up into its head and it actually lost consciousness.
The ring on Kazuki’s finger glowed with a dim purple light and all four wings were stored away in an instant. Once more the world was filled with silence. All those watching felt something indescribable in the pit of their stomachs. What they just witnessed was something completely unnatural. It was something that should not be possible and yet it was. A mere human, in a fraction of a second, had defeated an Ancient beast.
None had even thought about trying to sense Kazuki’s strength before because he was a human. As soon as he took down the bear though, all of them sensed his Mage core which only brought more shock. They could tell right away Kazuki was at the Core stage but that just made things even more confusing. Humans were known for their magic but just then, Kazuki hadn’t used any magic at all and instead had only relied on his physicality.
This made absolutely no sense to them. A human with such strength and was only at the 5th stage. A mere human had this much strength that it was capable of overwhelming an Ancient beast.
All at once, their defenses were raised as they stared at the anomaly before them. Before any of them could even begin to contemplate as to what to do, Kazuki waved them over, his voice just as cold as before.
“Who’s next?”
