Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 76
Flying through the sky, a problem occurred immediately. Danny who had just recently received this new body was still not quite used to using the magic he had gotten from the Motozu core and was using mainly wind aura to fly. Now he had two main elements of wind and water but it was obviously a challenge for him to use the wind to fly. The five stopped briefly and it was decided that Tozu Sasai would carry Danny along. The reason being was simple. Sasai used the element of wind. Traveling with him, Danny would quickly pick up how to use wind properly.
At the same time, they needed a plan before they entered the battle.
“Kazuki, why do we even need a plan. We just defeated four of them with ease. If there is only another four, we should be able to take them out just as quickly right?”
Sasai said this so matter of factly, it seemed like he truly believed it but Tozu was right there and he corrected Sasai with a strained expression.
“Little brother stop spouting nonsense and look at reality. My wife is the strongest among us with Kazuki second. They were able to finish they were the ones who finished their opponents with ease, while it was you and I who struggled against a single enemy.”
“But brother, we had him on the defensive the entire time. If it was just a little bit longer, I’m sure we could have taken him out. We didn’t even get a chance to use all of our power. How can you say we struggled?”
Shaila was disappointed hearing the way Sasai almost bragged.
“You idiot! You and my husband could only push that fellow back because it was two on one. Whether you used magic or not would have made no difference. Once you used magic so would he and then what? You barely push the enemy back and you dare say it wasn’t a struggle. Not only that but we surprised the enemy. They thought Kazuki was the only one with power around here and so their guards were at their lowest point. After the surprise attack, the boy still thought he was in control even until I killed him. Do you really think our opponents will be caught off guard when we are literally flying straight at them? They’ll spot us from miles away.”
“Enough of this! We must continue forward. We’ll come up with something on the way.”
Kazuki’s commanding tone made the Ancient beasts snap out of it. With it, the five continued on their way.
Tozu flew next to Kazuki.
“Kazuki, what is it you suggest we do, what’s the plan?”
Kazuki began to wrack his brain but nothing was really coming to mind. He really had considered using Alodeus, the young Ancient beast as a hostage but Shaila had killed him without a second thought. Though he realized it was naive to expect that taking a hostage would change anything, he still felt some regret over it. At the same time, nothing was coming to mind.
Kazuki looked over toward Danny.
“Danny, do you have anything?”
Tozu and the rest still thought Danny was just a mere Golem and couldn’t understand why Kazuki had asked this.
“Kazuki, why ask a doll. This thing is nothing more than a puppet you control right?”
Tozu’s question was turned upside down immediately when Danny’s artificial mechanical voice rang out.
“I am no doll…Tozu. You and the rest can call me Danny. As for a plan, I think we should start with Alodeus.”
Shaila and the rest were stupefied hearing Danny speak but Kazuki ignored them and focused on Danny’s suggestion.
“Alodeus is gone. There’s no way to use him anymore.”
Danny rubbed his metal chin in thought.
“That’s not necessarily true. As I recall, Kazuki, you can change your appearance quite well.”
The moment Danny said this, it was like a bolt of lightning had echoed through Kazuki’s head. A plan started to form and Kazuki immediately started to change the shape of his body.
Dark energy began to spread through him and shaved away at his muscle tissue.
*Crack Snap Crunch*
Kazuki’s bones began to break all over his body and he used ki to suppress his healing. He healed certain parts and for others, he circulated a steady supply of dark energy to keep some things degraded and prevent them from being repaired. Like this, his body which stood around 7 feet tall started to shrink. His frame became smaller and smaller and even the bones in his face started to crack under his power.
Tozu, Sasai, and Shaila had no clue what was happening and were bewildered. In barely a few seconds, Kazuki had gone from around 7 feet tall to just barely over 5 feet. His arms shrank along with his legs and his face became youthful and child-like. A few seconds, that was all it took for Kazuki’s body and face to look exactly like Alodeus’s.
Tozu, Sasai, and Shaila all stopped mid-flight and took some distance from Kazuki.
Sasai was the first to burst out with the question on everyone’s mind.
“What type of sorcery is this!?”
Kazuki chuckled.
“Heha, You haven’t seen anything yet!”
He stretched and folded his vocal cords in a certain way before slowly speaking.
“GrAnDPa.”
Shaila and the others were once more dumbfounded. Kazuki’s voice wasn’t an exact replica of Alodeus’s but it was close.
Kazuki could feel his voice wasn’t quite right. arranging his vocal cords once more, he cleared his throat before speaking with deadly accuracy.
“Grandpa, help me, they’re trying to kill me!”
The three Ancient beasts subconsciously took a step back. They had never witnessed such a sight in all of their lives. They had seen many who were masters and geniuses at manipulating the elements but never in such a way. They began to wonder if they were under some sort of strange speel brought on by a Tiant or a god but they didn’t feel that this was so.
Shaila was incredibly curious and her eyes were almost shining with interest.
“Kazuki, how are you capable of that!?”
Kazuki smirked with Alodeus’s face and spoke with Alodeus’s voice.
“This is something my Granny master taught me long ago. If you are interested maybe I can teach it to you.”
Shaila noded as if there was something wrong with her neck. Seeing his wife’s attention on Kazuki like that, Tozu grew jealous.
“Kazuki, could you stop flirting with my wife.”
Kazuki raised a brow and Shaila flew over to Tozu.
“Why are you being so jealous? I like it when you are a little bit jealous but too much makes you seem insecure. There has to be balance honey, balance.”
“I…I wasn’t being jealous. I just…I just.”
Shaila booped Tozu’s nose with her finger.
“Now this part of you is rather cute. Stay like this dear.”
Sasai rolled his eyes in annoyance at the insufferable couple.
“Kazuki you look and sound like him but what about the hair. The boys were light and fair while yours is dark.”
Kazuki looked up, his hair was also a good deal longer than the boys. With a swipe of his hand, he cut his hair to the same length and matched the boy’s style. Afterward, Kazuki Ran a fingernail across his arm and allowed a good deal of blood to flow. Using his aura like a bowl, he caught the blood and poured it over his head like a pitcher.
Shaila grew more interested as she watched Kazuki’s ideas unfold right before her.
“Ah, your going to soak your hair in blood so the color doesn’t matter, right?”
Kazuki nodded. All of his hair was now soaked until it was crimson and crimson only. He didn’t stop there. Kazuki tore his clothes in several spots and made fresh wounds all over his body. His clothes looked nothing like what Alodeus had worn but with them torn to shreds like this and covered in red, no one would be able to tell what they originally were in the first place.
“If it’s this appearance, I should be able to get close as possible to the old man. I’ll pretend as if I am Alodeus and act injured and pretend as if you all were trying to kill me. You can be in the distance giving chase. I’ll close the gap with the old man and take his back. He’ll be on guard from you all while trying to protect me at the same time. That will be the perfect opportunity for me to strike. I’ll take his life in a single move and the odds will be in our favor right from the get-go.”
Everyone grew excited hearing his plan. They tried to imagine if they could have come up with something similar but Tozu and Sasai drew a blank. Shaila on the other hand had a few thoughts but none of them seemed to come close to Kazuki’s.
Danny rubbed his chin before adding on.
“Your plan is good but there’s something I believe your overlooking.”
Danny’s chest began to open as he came up with something quite interesting. Hearing his thoughts, Shaila and the rest were again left without words.
