Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 89
“Very well Kai. I will save your brother. If you’re wrong though, and Kazuki doesn’t entertain. I will use everything in my power to bring you back, just to torture your soul til the end of time.”
Kai nodded in agreement.
“As long as you save my brother I would gladly suffer for all time if it means he lives.”
Zetrazz felt slightly annoyed hearing Kai’s declaration. Lifting his hand, he began to fill Kazuki’s soul world with his power.
“Zetrazz, before I go, can you help me stay for just a moment longer. I wish to say my goodbyes.”
“Will that help fuel your brother?”
Kai didn’t believe it would but it couldn’t hurt.
“Whether they help or not, me saying goodbye to him couldn’t hurt any.”
Zetrazz didn’t answer and simply sent his energy towards the dark being. His energy became like a giant claw and it swiftly grabbed this large being by the back of its neck and pulled it away from Kazuki’s soul tree.
In the real world, Kazuki had caught Dreunz and was about to bite his head directly off. Just before he could though, Kazuki’s entire body spasmed and his grip loosened from Dreunz.
Dreunz didn’t know what this was or what was happening but this was an opportunity he couldn’t let pass him by.
The element of space gathered around his body and before Kazuki could react, a bright purple light flashed around Dreunz and he teleported far away in an instant.
At the same time, Kazuki grabbed his head as a splitting pain filled his body. The dark entity knew something was wrong and its mind rendered Kazuki’s soul world.
The soul world was filled with dark energy. However, this dark energy didn’t belong to it rather another.
It saw Zetrazz’s dark claw dragging it away from Kazuki’s soul tree and it snapped. It reached behind it and grabbed Zetrazz’s claw and Zetrazz in return was halted.
This dark being sniffed its surroundings and chuckled.
“A mere Titan stuck in a lower realm dares interfere with me!”
This dark entity opened its mouth and a haze of black shot forth to rip Zetrazz’s claw apart. Zetrazz could feel his hand being torn apart and his fury took over.
In the outside world, beneath the deep ocean, the ground split open in retaliation, and dark energy flooded out like a broken dam. This dark energy contained rage and absolute malice as it rushed from the depths of the ocean floor and directly into Kazuki’s body.
The small tear in Kazuki’s soul world expanded several times over and More of Zetrazz poured into Kazuki’s soul world like an avalanche. This amount of dark energy could melt mountains yet all of it was perfectly under control and contained. The moment it entered this place, it covered the sky in the soul world and stretched to the farthest reaches of Kazuki’s soul world.
This caused Kazuki’s actual body to start to split open and rupture. At the same time though his regenerative ability kicked in and he healed at an accelerated rate. Just containing a small fraction of Zetrazz’s power caused Kazukis’ body to enter a loop between life and death. His body was constantly breaking down while at the same time healing.
Zetazz extended his energy and wrapped it around the entire dark entity in a single bound. The dark entity instantly realized that this titan before it was not normal.
“You dare try and hold me! Release me or you will suffer when my power is complete!”
Zetrazz did not take kindly to such threats.
His power formed a container and he started to squeeze it tighter and tighter and tighter around this dark entity.
“A mere Titan you called me. Stuck in a lower realm you say? That’s rich coming from a Vazul. Your kind is stuck in one of the hell realms where you have no resources, no room to grow, no room to even breath. I’d much rather be in a lower realm where I have sway than the places where even bugs wouldn’t shit. I don’t know how long you’ve been in such a place but it seems you’ve forgotten. Your kind can not beat my kind, not in a lower realm where your powers are restricted and you where you have to borrow a weak human. You pathetic wretch.”
The dark entity grew enraged and roared.
“YOU BASTARD TITAN! COME FACE ME IN
Before this dark entity could finish its sentence, Zetrazz waved a hand and shouted.
“BE GONE!”
The dark container shrunk and crushed the dark entity as if it were nothing. However, this did not fully kill it. The dark energy that was still inside of Kazuki’s soul tree caught Zetrazz’s attention. The moment he moved, the dark energy in the soul tree instinctively jumped out of it and dove into the black hole at the base of the soul tree.
The dark entity had survived and was now inside of the black hole.
“You…I have not been defeated. I will return one day and you will face your end by my hands. Count yourself, fortunate Titan. If I had my full power, it would be you that was crushed today and not I.”
Zetrazz pointed at the black hole and became composed.
“You talk far too much. Try and come and next time make sure you have a real body. That way I can kill you for real at that time.”
Zetrazz then fired a beam of dark energy at the black hole and sealed the black hole entirely. Every crack and fissure, every bit of damage was repaired by Zetrazz in an instant. After that, he drew several ancient symbols with dark magic in the air and they rushed forward before landing on top of this black hole. A sealing mark was left behind.
“That should hold for a while.”
In the outside world, the dark lines of the ancient language made a hissing noise as they burned away like hot steam. His body as well shrunk down slightly. He was still bigger than normal but not quite as big after devouring all of that energy. At the same time, his eyes returned to their natural color, no longer a pitch-black before he fell out of the sky. With his consciousness gone at this time and no more dark entity controlling his body, Kazuki could only fall toward the frozen ocean.
*Splshhh*
His body sinking toward the infinite dark, Zetrazz rolled his eyes slightly before dark energy surrounded him and placed him on a glacier.
Kazuki’s mind at this moment freely entered his soul world where he saw his brother. As well as a dark hazy figure. He couldn’t make out the appearance of this figure but the being was unmistakable, that energy that released what felt like an endless pressure and could steal your breath from your body, Kazuki knew it was Zetrazz. It only took him a moment longer to look around his soul world. Seeing the seal on the black hole, Kazuki put a few things together and understood that it was Zetrazz that saved him but he couldn’t understand why.
“Kazuki.”
Kai called out to him. His body was incredibly small and he was nearly completely see-through.
“Big brother!?”
Kazuki took a single look at his big brother and knew something was wrong.
“Kazuki, we both knew it was coming. I’m out of time.”
Kai could feel everything he ever wanted to say coming up at this moment. He would tell Kazuki everything. How much he meant to him and so much more. Finally, he could let it all go.
Kai’s face became serious before he opened his mouth and
…
Nothing came out.
Kai tried to speak but there was no sound. He tried to speak and say what he needed to say. He needed to have no regrets but nothing came out when he moved his mouth. It was at this moment that Kai looked over toward Zetrazz and saw a devious smile and Kai heard Zetrazz speak directly to him so that Kazuki couldn’t hear.
(Kai, thinking about it now. I wonder just how much more potential I can squeeze out of Kazuki if you were to die just before you could say everything you wanted to. How much fuel would that put on the fire we call Kazuki. The words you always wished to say, the words that have nearly burned a hole in your chest. It will always leave Kazuki wondering, it will become one more obsession for him and it will make him grow. All for my entertainment.”
Kai’s eyes went wide in shock. He mouthed the word bastard at Zetrazz but again no sound escaped from his lips. Zetrazz at this moment waved his hand, and his power no longer kept Kai’s soul stable. Kai tried to grab Kazuki and say something, anything but before he could, whatever was holding him in this existence, in this moment, it broke.
The moment his hand tried to grab Kazuki’s shoulder, his entire body passed through him and he turned into tiny particles that disappeared in his hands, like grains of sand. Kai…Had vanished into nothingness.
Kazuki froze seeing this before he collapsed to his knees.
…There was rage, no roar that shook the mountains, and no scream that echoed throughout the world, just silence. A shocking soul-sucking silence, which gutted him to his very core.
At this moment, Kazuki whispered only two words as if to confirm that this was in fact reality.
“He’s…gone.”
