Return of the Fallen Volume 7 Chapter 91
Slowly opening his eyes, Kazuki laid still on top of a broken glacier. His body was perfectly fine but his heart throbbed in pain. Tears rolled down his cheeks as if something had been ripped from him.
(Brother.)
Kazuki hid his face from the sun using his arm to cover his face, he sobbed silently as the clouds up above floated on by.
(Every time you needed someone to protect you, I could do nothing but on the other side you saved me more times than I can count. The first time, mother took you from me and I was powerless. This time as well, even with all of this strength, it was not enough to save you. Just one time, just once and I still couldn’t help you, and now you’re gone forever.)
Kazuki slowly raised his hand up above him as if to grasp the clouds drifting by but a moment later they continued forth as if slipping from his grasp.
(With all of my power, with abilities that can shape the world around me, I still can’t manage to hold on to a damn thing. All of it slips away…every last bit of it.)
*Bam*
Kazuki slammed his fist down onto the ground next to him and shattered the glacier into thousands of pieces. With it, he fell into the cold ocean below.
As he sunk further and further into the depths of the ocean, for the briefest of moments, Kazuki wished the cold darkness would just swallow him up and take him away to someplace without such sorrow.
It was in this brief moment in time that Kazuki allowed himself to feel such things. To let it all wash over him and cry. Maybe with the passing waves, it would cover his tears he thought. The pain of losing his brother for a second time, losing someone he loved and cared for, for this brief moment he let this feeling take over and twist at his guts.
…
As he settled on the bottom of the ocean floor, the dark energy in his golden compass began to pulse. Kazuki could feel the energy moving rapidly as if an alarm clock. Zetrazz was telling him without telling him enough was enough and Kazuki agreed.
All of the pain, all of the ache within his chest, Kazuki buried it deep within. He pushed it far away and locked it as though it were a vault. In its place, a rage began to rise up within him.
He had two enemies for the longest time and for revenge he had suffered greatly, put his body in harms way time and time again, and stood at the edge of death endlessly. He had done all of that just to have his revenge on his sister and mother, now though his enemies were three.
A being called a Vazul was now added to his list of those who would suffer and die by his hand. Kazuki had been through the grinder in this life to work his way up into dealing with two enemies. Now that a third was added, even the gods above didn’t know what Kazuki would do to achieve his goals.
The rage in his chest burned more and more and his eyes snapped open.
Kicking off the ocean floor, he caused the ground to quake and crack open for miles as he jumped upward.
Taking to the skies, he wanted to immediately give chase and find Dreunz but at the same time, Dreunz had teleported away. He remembered that Garn was only at the 5th stage and could only teleport using his staff and magic circles, yet this could move him thousands of miles away in an instant. That also included taking people with him. Compare that to an Ancient beast who was equal to the 6th stage or greater and who specifically specialized in the element of space. All of these added up to Kazuki having no understanding of just how far Dreunz could teleport to.
He didn’t know if it was a few thousand miles or a few ten thousand miles.
This realization like a splash of cold water woke him from his rage. It was still there but now his mind was a little more clear. That’s when he remembered Danny and the others.
He spread out his aura and could sense a flow of magic in the distance and it was only growing further away.
(That must be them.)
Kazuki disappeared and left a streak of blue light in his wake. The moment he took off he broke the sound barrier and covered over a hundred miles in a second. This newfound speed almost made him crash but he swiftly recovered. It was only now that he noticed the changes in his body.
His body had grown ridiculously huge while he was possessed. Now that that Vazul creature was thrown back into the gate in Kazuki’s soul world and sealed, Kazuki’s body had shrunk back down a bit. Still, his body was bigger than before. With it, his muscles and physique had once again been enhanced and changed.
His height was equivalent to Glacious’s now and he could feel strength coursing through his body. Even his soul and aura had grown considerably. His soul and aura had grown several folds after consuming the Rukia fruit but had then expanded even further once he was possessed.
It seemed his aul had grown directly as a defense mechanism against the Vazul. Like a baser instinct, his soul with his control subconsciously or not had tried to fight off the intruder and grew spontaneously to do so. This however obviously wasn’t enough but now that the threat was gone, Kazuki got an added bonus.
Curiously he stretched his aura out once more. Without using its’ strength and merely relying on what he sensed, his aura unbelievably stretched out for well over a thousand miles. He could now Sense Danny and the others at this range. The moment his aura touched upon them Sasai who was carrying everyone felt Kazuki’s aura with his own and stopped in place.
“Kazuki!?”
Danny and Shaila shared a look with Sasai but Sasai said nothing and merely pointed in the distance.
A blue streak of light in only a few seconds was spotted in the distance, a second or so later, the streak of light disappeared and Kazuki appeared before them.
As soon as Sasai saw him though Kazuki didn’t exactly get a warm welcome, Instead Sasai almost jumped out of his skin, and Shaila even in her weakened state prepared to attack him.
Kazuki was of course confused by this until an artificial-like voice rang out in everyone’s ear.
“There’s no need to be so wary of him. I know what your thinking but that is indeed Kazuki. Even if he does look like shit.”
Only now did Kazuki inspect the rest of his body. His hair had grown all the way past his feet and his body bulged with unnecessary and monster-like muscles. His shoulders wide and all of his clothes had torn as his body grew and he was in the nude.
With all the disheveled and unkempt hair growing from everywhere, even covering his face. That mixed with how large he was, Kazuki appeared more like a giant ape than anything else.
Shaila’s eyes seemed to shine as she looked Kazuki over. Her husband was a rhino ape so there was no denying she was into that sort of thing but a moment later she shook such thoughts away as she showed the state Tozu was in.
“Kazuki, if that’s you then please help us. You can use the element of gordonia right!? Please help heal my husband, he’s wounded badly.”
Putting everything else aside, for now, Kazuki grabbed Tozu and sunk his aura into him. He could see every injury within, whether the wounds be as big as a large blade or as tiny as a germ, Kazuki’s senses had improved on another level and he could see everything.
Tozu’s wound though was obvious and required no such attention to detail. A large gaping wound from his back and out the front of his chest bled profusely. Inside, part of his heart was completely missing and blood flow was not circulating correctly inside him. Not only that but an entire lung was obliterated ad the other was filling with blood. If Tozu weren’t an Ancient beast, he would have been dead long ago. Though if he went much longer like this, then there was no doubt he would die.
Kazuki placed both hands out. One over his chest and one underneath the wound on his back. Kazuki’s ring shined and green emerald energy gathered around his hands. At the same time, Kazuki sent his ki directly into the wounds and he started healing from both sides right away.
The first thing he did was send his flow of ki around Tozu’s heart and began to pump in sync with the rest of Tozu’s heart to pump his blood artificially. This prevented further bleeding out. At the same time, his gordonia energy began to heal the most important parts. He used his ki to pull all of the blood from the lung filling up and drained it instantly. Then he proceeded to make Tozu a brand new lung from nothing.
Kazuki himself was surprised. He only thought about creating a new lung and his power followed his will. Before he would need the devouring technique to regrow a limb for himself but now after growing even stronger he was creating a new organ from seemingly nothing. Kazuki grew excited. In the future, he would be able to regrow limbs without relying on that Vazul bastard’s power.
Adding his ki to help heal, the wound started closing before everyone’s eyes. In mere seconds, The wound on his back was sealed shut, and only a second later so too was the front of his chest.
Shaila and the others watched in amazement. They had witnessed Kazuki’s incredible healing capability but they assumed that was only for his own body. They didn’t know he could heal others almost as fast. This healing speed, if Kazuki were to go anywhere in the world and use such abilities he’d be considered a divine saint sent by the heavens themselves.
Only a moment later…
*Cough cough cough cough*
A scourge of blood came flying out of Tozu’s mouth as he coughed up globs of it.
Inhaling deeply, fresh air was allowed in and he could breathe properly. Slowly his eyes opened.
Shaila tackled him in the air and Tozu gasped in pain…or rather surprise as he felt no pain other than from the tackle, his insides felt perfectly fine or even better than normal.
“Dear, Iw as afraid…I was so scared you were gonna die and leave me!”
Tozu recalled what happened and how he nearly dies. Seeing his wife cry for him like this, he could only softly rub her back and whisper words of comfort.
“How could I ever hope of leaving my one and only. Even if I died I still couldn’t leave you.”
Shaila continued to cry, a first showing such emotion. Usually, she would just laugh things off or tease others but she was truly afraid this time.
Hearing such a conversation about death though, Kazuki was reminded of his own loss. He gnashed his teeth and buried such feelings down. Rage and hatred took their place.
