Return of the Fallen Volume 8 Chapter 39
The impact from Dreunz was still in play. A large quake split the continent and ocean waves well over a thousand feet and hundreds of miles wide came rushing toward the land. Once these waters hit, most life would be devastated and the land would be all but submerged and drowned.
King Azar was getting closer and closer to Glacious when all of this began. Even though he was long gone from the north, he could clearly sense the power in the air. He could feel a mix of his own along with Dreunz and he grew annoyed because of it.
(I didn’t warn him about the unwritten laws of this world when I gifted him some of my Blood Essence. I gave it to him just in case but to think he actually needed to use it. Don’t tell me I made a mistake. Should I return…No. To corner Glacious and end him once and for all, this may be the only chance I and the southern King get. If we don’t challenge him now and take him out, the Feya continent may never be ours or rather mine. If we don’t do this now, Glacious may turtle up inside his tiny world and it could be a lifetime before he comes out. It’s now or never, no turning back.)
King Azar steeled himself and sped up. He could already sense Glacious as well as the southern King on the move and they too could sense each other as well.
(Hmm, he’s not trying to flee, good, this will make things much easier. I can also sense Zetrazz making a move but he doesn’t seem to be confronting Dreunz, this is good. Even after all of this, the Titans are staying out of my business. It seems they are growing cowardly with age. Once Feya is mine, I’ll be sure to make these Titans who hide in the depths of the world understand my might and know their proper place beneath it.)
As chaotic forces started to gather, dark energy all across the Feya continent began to rise up from beneath the ground.
To nearly everyone, this energy was unseen and unfelt but to those who hold power, they could all sense a dangerous magic gathering around causing the hairs on the back of their neck to stand on end.
Just as massive tidal waves ripped toward the shores and prepared to sink the entire continent, A wave of dark energy just as massive arose and blocked its path. The water came crashing down as if to end all times and bring life to extinction but this amount of force, to Zetrazz, this was as much as a breeze to him and nothing more. With a thought, his power covered all of the waves as if someone tossed a huge blanket over a pitiful puddle. The swelling water that was ready to crush a continent, in less than a second was pushed back down into the ocean and suppressed into a deep calm.
Zetrazz didn’t stop there. His power had stretched under the entire continent of Feya and had weaved its way into every nook and cranny. With a slight breath, Zetrazz inhaled and the trembling and quaking, in a single moment ceased.
…
..
The continent stopped shaking but just for a moment. The very next moment, Zetrazz took in another breath, this time with a little more force. In return, the entire continent shook, this time much harder than before. People and beasts alike had all thought it was over and then this second wave of shaking hit. This time though it was slightly different.
The land that had been broken and shattered, the ground which connected one territory to the next, as if someone was rewinding time, the continent that had been split apart was reversing and being put back together. Zetrazz’s dark power reconnected the broken continent back together and he did it all in just two breaths.
The shaking stopped and the end of the world many had thought was here, was over.
While this was happening, Dreunz had carved up the land with his impact to such a degree that several mountains could fill and replace the ground below. He did this all for a single purpose and that was to kill Kazuki.
Down in such a hole, Dreunz’s suns lit the way in this darkness revealing every shadow in search of his most hated enemy. It took no time at all to find Kazuki. Most of his body was crushed and he was breathing with labored breaths but he was still alive. This somewhat surprised Dreunz but not enough to steal his focus. Once he discovered Kazuki, he immediately threw all of his remaining suns at him. However, it was at this exact moment that the Zetrazz had begun to repair the continent.
Kazuki’s body was pulled deeper into the ground as the land was pushed up in repair. Dreunz had missed Kazuki by a hairs breath. He could feel Zetrazz’s interference but he couldn’t understand why it was happening at this moment and screamed out in desperation.
“NOOOOOO!”
He tried to make his way through the ground to go after Kazuki but his body was the size of a mountain. Not only that, he was fighting against a tide he couldn’t beat. It was Zetrazz’s power that was repairing the land so he couldn’t actively destroy it at this moment.
Dreunz, not wanting Kazuki to regenerate and flee, reduced his size and transformed back into his human form. With his body shrinking from the size of a mountain to a being around 7 feet tall, he could now move much more freely and squeeze between the gaps and crevices of these reforming rocks.
“YOU CAN NOT ESCAPE FROM ME! I WILL NOT ALLOW IT!”
Kazuki was regenerating at an incredible speed. His consciousness was just barely hanging on when the world around him started to become fixed. He had barely managed to avoid a direct impact from Dreunz. The moment Dreunz came crashing down, Kazuki had gone deeper, as deep as he could possibly go in such a small time frame. At the same time, he used his power to harden all of the rocks around him until they were tougher than diamonds.
This gave Kazuki some protection. Not only that but Kazuki also fired a large Aura shot upward. His aura was incredibly powerful, stronger than Dreunz by a large margin. With this Aura shot, he wished to shatter Dreunz soul in a single bout. Unfortunately, Kazuki’s understanding of Blood Essence was not full. He didn’t have every memory of Glacious and only parts of certain things so the information he had about the Blood Essence Dreunz consumed was limited.
The Blood Essence didn’t just increase Dreunz’s power temporarily but also made his soul stronger more durable.
When Kazuki fired this Aura shot it did damage Dreunz’s barrier and enter his soul world but when it met his soul tree, it rattled it slightly. This did not break his soul but it did shake his consciousness for a split second. At that moment, Kazuki managed to move even further beneath the world.
When Dreunz crashed down, the land he hit was not normal Gordonia. The ground was so tough that Dreunz’s barrier had, after enduring the poisonous rain, Kazuki’s Aura shot as well as hitting the diamond-like ground, burst apart. In his madness though, Dreunz either didn’t know or didn’t seem to care as he gave chase after Kazuki.
Kazuki though, after all of those layers of protection, still almost lost his life. The impact from Dreunz was devastating and nearly all of Kazuki was crushed. The diamond proofing he had done in order to save his life, actually became a double-edged sword and he was squished beneath it. Arms, legs, stomach, chest, his head as well was nearly turned into meat paste. Thankfully his reaction was god-like.
The moment he saw things were going wrong, he changed the hard diamond-like rocks around his head into something soft like sand, and before his head was crushed he removed everything above his head and stored it inside his ring. At the same time, he covered his head and the rest of his body with his Aura breath. The moment anything came near his head, it was dissolved by his dark energy and stored in his ring. At the same time, he continued to supply his brain and pump his own blood manually with his ki.
In this way, he just managed to survive in such an agonizing state.
The moment Dreunz transformed back into his human form and gave chase, Kazuki truly felt fear. His body was broken and immovable by his own limbs and he was dead in the water. It was then that he felt a pulse of dark energy in his golden compass and the land all around him began to move.
At first, he thought Zetrazz was saving him but it was apparent right away that it wasn’t the case. The reason being was because just as he disappeared beneath the land, Dreunz still made his move and appeared in front of Kazuki right away.
“You think I need my suns to kill you. With the power of my King’s Blood Essence, my body is near the 7th stage. My grip is more than enough to crush your head.”
Dreunz hand shot forward as fast as lightning and he grabbed Kazuki’s head.
