Return of the Fallen Volume 8 Chapter 42
Kazuki reached forward and his hand stabbed deep into Dreunz’s torso. Grabbing his core, Kazuki pulled it out and sealed it. Next, he took a small ring off of Dreunz’s corpse. Even if he couldn’t get into it, it didn’t mean it was impossible to get inside. Glacious for example was a master of every element. Someone of his caliber could open it up and spill the continents out.
He showed Shaila the Magic Beast core, offering it to her. Out of everyone her power was strength was second to only Kazuki. If she were to consume another Ancient Beast core, her power would climb once more. Shaila though took one look at the core and passed.
She waved it away.
“This core is far too damaged. If I were to consume it, it would most likely cause more harm than good. It’s best to just dispose of it safely.”
Kazuki didn’t argue and stored both the core and ring away. He would deal with them later.
“More than that Kazuki, what did you do to Dreunz? I sensed strange energy coming from you when you touched him. I never sensed something so odd before. It was like you took different forces and jammed them together in an ugly way before unleashing chaos into the world. It felt, terrifying.”
Kazuki raised a hand in the air and gathered his ki, aura, and dark energy in his palm. The energy began to swirl around one another until they seemed to fuse together with one another. A second later Kazuki sent this strange new energy outward. Shaila and everyone else subconsciously took a step back as they watched this dark swirl of chaos flow outward. It resembled a storm of sorts. The center of this spiraling energy was calm and tranquil while the edges were chaotic and sharp.
This attack flew out for no more than an inch and a half before the energy vanished as if it were never even there.
Kazuki showed this small demonstration however before he could explain, Danny rubbed his chin in thought and spoke.
“This is similar to the weapon you designed is it not? Three different energies coming together creates something entirely new. In line with Glacious’s black flame. You fuse these energies together to make something brand new. The powers coming together amplify one another and boost each other, seemingly in a race to destroy the other. The weapon designs you gave Sid shows that when these energies come together after they boost each other they then revert and destroy not only themselves but basically anything in their way in the process. Now it makes sense to me. The core from Dreunz was damaged to a terrible degree. The moment you used this power on him, it penetrated his core and started destroying his own magical energy. This is why his movements slowed. I originally thought we would have to wait until the Blood Essence he consumed wore out but your attack sped that up drastically. This ability of yours, this is what you were working on this entire time inside your soul world, incredible.”
Danny was rambling at this point but Shaila and the others got the gist of it and they couldn’t help but be shocked.
“Kazuki is this true. Did you create a new power?”
Tozu asked this with a serious face and even Sasai and Shaila seemed to lean in in anticipation. Even though he had just given them a demonstration right in front of their very eyes, it still didn’t seem real and they needed him to actually speak the words outright.
Kazuki didn’t keep them waiting and just said it outright.
“Yes. This is indeed a new power. I had tried it before but I had no control in the beginning and nearly killed myself.”
Shaila grabbed Kazuki by the shoulders in excitement.
“Tell me everything! How does one even begin to come up with a new power. Not only that but you even made your thoughts a reality. Just how talented are you? It’s no wonder you’re on others’ wanted list. Even if we had never joined forces with you, you would have eventually had a target placed on your back from the other Ancient Beasts. Your potential is too much of a threat to those bastards.”
Tozu glared at Kazuki. Not because he was jealous of Kazuki’s power but rather because his wife showed way too much interest in Kazuki. Kazuki gently removed Shaila’s hands and stepped back.
“I’ll tell you but please calm down. If you keep acting like this, I’m afraid your husband will eat me.”
Shaila looked back and saw Tozu’s expression and she began to tease him. Clinging to his arm she joked.
“Are you really so jealous dear husband? Hmm, should I really rn off with Kazuki?”
Tozu’s eyes widened before Shaila flicked him hard on the forehead. Her strength was far above his so it really did hurt. He grabbed his head in pain and looked at Shaila with dismay before Shaila laughed and gently kissed his forehead.
“Dummy, There is no other in my heart beside you. You should know that by now my foolish husband. I may be curious about Kazuki but it is that and only that. You know this.”
Tozu really did feel a bit foolish. He and his wife had been one forever in his mind. There was nothing that could separate them, not even death.
“Sorry, Kazuki, I’m supposed to be the calm one but sometimes I’m clouded by ugly thoughts.”
Kazuki was fine and understood to some degree.
“It’s fine. I too would be upset if the one I loved…
Kazuki stopped there as Sasai was starting to roll his eyes in disgust with all the love talk. It didn’t really matter right now anyway and Kazuki changed the subject back to this ability.
“The idea is a borrowed one. Glacious’s black flame is famous as it’s the only known power that combines two types of energies or at least everyone thought this was the only power combination but as I thought deeper on it I realized there were other instances where others combined powers. My brother actually did such a thing long ago with his sword forms and Zetrazz as well combines aura and the element of darkness. These alone make three instances and I knew or learned about all three yet for some reason I could perform none of them…at first.”
Kazuki inhaled deeply before releasing a long breath. His aura and dark magic combined and spread outward from his nostrils and mouth forming a protective layer of aura breath around him. After a moment he dissipated it ad continued.
“Zetrazz’s aura breath changed everything for me. I can’t tell you the exact details as this ability is his secret and his secret alone but what I can say, is in order to learn this ability one of my number one weaknesses had to be overcome.”
Of course, Shaila couldn’t contain her curiosity.
“What weakness? Bothe your physical body, as well as your strength and speed, is superior to all of ours so it can’t be that. Your magic is weaker than ours but that is only because you are still at the 5th stage. Once you surpass the Core stage and are on even footing with us, your magic if it flows in line with the rest of your growth, should be above ours. Your Aura as well is much stronger than ours and the scariest part about you is that regenerative ability. I’ve seen you regenerate entire limbs in seconds. I can’t see any weakness’s whatsoever.”
Tozu and Sasai were both nodding along in agreement but Danny already knew the answer.
“It must be your magic control. Your knowledge when it comes to magic runs deep, deeper than most but your actual first-hand experience using magic is fairly low for someone so strong and at your age.”
Kazuki gave a slow clap.
“Ding ding ding. Danny is right on the money. The moment I first started to use magic until I was teleported to Earth was not long and I never used it all that much in my childhood. After being on earth where Magic energy is thin and beyond lacking, I again didn’t use magic for a long time and actually learned a few different things. Later on, I found a new way to use magic but that was another way from the norm. Once I finally managed to make it back to Gordonia, I still couldn’t use magic normally as my core was nonexistent. When I finally forced my Mage core, I finally came back to the magic I knew but I was beyond rusty. Since then, I mainly relied on my physical prowess and my vast knowledge and experience with hand-to-hand combat. My control over magic was disgustingly lacking, that is until I started learning Zetrazz’s Aura breath.”
Danny rubbed his chin in thought as he spread his aura outward and tried combining it with his magic, a quick failure gave him many insisghts.
“Right, in order to use this Aura breath, you would need near-perfect control over both your aura as well as magic. Gaining such control over one’s magic, as well as aura, and then being able to combine these two separate energies into one thing, this whatever was revealed to you when you learned this, along with such control allowed you to develop this new attack I’m assuming?”
Once more Danny had seen through it. Kazuki couldn’t even be surprised anymore at how intelligent Danny was and just gave him a thumbs up.
“It’s just as you say, Danny. Again, I can’t tell you every detail but what I can say for sure is, if you can master both your Aura as well as a single element at a level where it becomes like second nature…no, even beyond that. Once you can do that, fusing these powers comes with far less difficulty.”
Kazuki said that but he knew just how truly difficult it really was. Zetrazz held nothing back while Kazuki was in his soul world. For over four years, Zetrazz’s laid down training that went hand in hand with such brutality and agonizing pain that Kazuki would never forget for his entire lifetime.
He shuddered at the thought but at the same time, the control he gained over his magic was something even masters would go insane for.
Gripping his fist, Kazuki grew excited and he felt his rage building once more. He could feel it…He was starting to catch up to Fera. He knew he still had a long way to go but the gap between the two was slowly but surely closing.
