Return of the Fallen Volume 8 Chapter 46

Bozek was already left speechless due to the lack of air in his lungs. The crushing aura allowed him no words to speak but even if he could open his mouth and muster a word or two, he still felt it would be impossible under these circumstances.

Right now, in front of him, a stunning sight took place. For one thing, the girl he had traveled with, the one who constantly bragged about how big and mature she was and would allow no one to carry her. That same girl was now crying like a baby ad being held in the arms of someone as if it were only natural.

The second thing that left Bozek beyond words was the name Mei had uttered before she jumped into the man’s arms. She had called out and said Kazuki. This name was familiar to Bozek but the face was not. The only person called Kazuki that was an acquaintance of Mei’s, to Bozek’s knowledge there was only one. He had heard the story of this Kazuki fellow and it was one of tragedy.

At the end of said story, the young man called Kazuki was forced into the Abyssal trench and died. That’s what Bozek had learned of from multiple sources a while ago. Even his previous king Tobern had been there himself and witnessed it and later relayed the events to Bozek, yet here Mei was calling this name and leaping into this man’s arms.

Bozek was left both breathless and confused. Mei was still a child and could easily make a mistake. She had in fact made several as she led Bozek to Edngaul and had gotten the two lost several times on the way. It would be understandable if she made a mistake now and recognized the wrong person but seeing the tall handsome man hugging Mei in his embrace, comforting her, Bozek couldn’t believe she would misidentify someone who was like an older brother to her.

(If that man really is Kazuki then just what in the 7 realms of hell has happened. His strength was last reported at the 4th stage, the mind-body stage. This power though, he has to be at the 6th stage. How could one evolve and grow to such strength in only around a year’s time? To manage to not only survive in the Abyssal trench, one of the most dangerous if not thee most dangerous places on all of the Feya continent but to also somehow climb his way back out and with such power. Not only that but the characters behind him, I can’t sense the limits of any of their strengths. What monsters did Kazuki bring back with him from that darkness?)

Sasai was a handsome man, even more handsome than Kazuki, and held a slender frame but his looks were deceiving of the devilish strength which lies beneath. Tozu on the other hand looked just how one might figure a powerful being would be. Scruff and wide, packed with thick muscles and a bald head. Shaila on the other hand was a beautiful bronze-skinned beauty. Her curves alone could steal one’s gaze for an unnaturally long time. Still, even with such beauty, Bozek knew she was more dangerous than the other two men by a long shot.

The most mysterious of the bunch though, in Bozek’s eyes were undoubtedly Danny. A solid suit of metal armor towering more than 9 feet in height. Wider than everyone here and incredibly heavy. With ghost-like silver eyes, Danny made no sense to Bozek for the simp[le fact that Bozek could sense no breath, no signs of life whatsoever coming from Danny, yet the glowing eyes were somehow filled with undeniable sentience.

While Bozek was still panicking inside, Little Mei was unleashing everything she had stored inside her. Her tears flowed nonstop as she hugged Kazuki with all her strength and wiped rubbed her head into his chest.

Kazuki had no clue why or how Mei came to be here but he was more than thrilled.

Shaila approached and looked curiously between Mei and Kazuki.

“Kazuki, it’s obvious you know this child, but since when did you have such time to make a kid?”

Mei removed her head from Kazuki’s chest and a trial of snotty boogers stretched from his shirt to her nose. She looked up cluelessly at Shaila and the first thing she noticed was Shaila’s large bust. A little bit of anger welled up within her as she pointed at Shaila and accused her.

“Big brother Kazuki, I thought you had died and I cried every night and every day thinking you were gone for good but you were alive all this time and playing with this big titty lady, how could you?”

Shaila took a step back in surprise. She wasn’t usually around children all that much so Mei’s upfront attitude about her breast was a little much for her. Sasai on the other hand broke out into laughter.

“Hehe, Big sis, this small girl is too good. She managed to stun lock even you.”

Mei started to put after hearing Sasai.

“Hmph, Mei is not a small girl but a big big bird. You may have a nice face but your green hair was a bad choice. Next time think before you talk badly about Mei.”

This time it was Sasai’s turn to be stunned. He didn’t think he had said anything wrong and was even a near compliment but somehow the child before him took it as an attack and attacked back. Sasai couldn’t even be mad but rather was left confused.

Kazuki made a thin layer of water coat his hand like a glove and before Mei could protest, he wiped her face a few times until he cleaned all the snot and tears.

“Little Mei that isn’t very nice of you. I haven’t seen you in such a long time and the very first thing you do when you see me is accuse me of wrongdoing and then bad mouth my friends. That isn’t the smart kind Mei Mei I know. Please apologize.”

Mei looked up at Kazuki a little hurt but she knew she may have crossed a small line. Her mother had gotten on her case recently about her bluntness so underneath a few layers of hurt feelings, she understood she may have been in the wrong but still, a child is a child, and instead of apologizing she crossed her arms and refused.

“Mei did nothing wrong.”

At this time Danny walked over. His large frame towered above not just Mei but even Kazuki. Mei was a little scared of Danny at first but within a second she could tell that he was a golem and she grew excited. She had seen plenty of different golems in Glacious’s tiny world but Danny appeared to be different. The golems in the tiny world were mostly made up of rock and other similar materials but Danny was made from a strange dull white metal she had never seen before.

She was curious as to what this golem was trying to do when it suddenly opened its mouth and a familiar yet also unfamiliar, mechanical-like voice echoed out.

“Mei Mei, did your mother raise you to behave like this. Don’t you think she would be said knowing how your treating people Kazuki calls friends?”

The second Danny stopped speaking, Mei’s eyes went wide and tears started to fall from her face once more.

“Dan…Danny.”

Danny nodded.

“It’s been a long time little one. For so long I wasn’t able to be around and I missed both you and Tsura deeply. What about you?”

Once again, snot and other unsightly things leaked from Mei’s innocent face and she jumped from Kazuki’s arms and into Danny’s. Danny’s body though was incredibly hard so when she leapt into him, she banged her head really hard on him.

*CLUNK*

She then proceeded to land on her butt.

She started to cry louder yet at the same time she was smiling. She jumped right back up to her feet and hugged Danny.

“Danny! I missed you! I missed both of you so so much. Not just me but mama…mama missed you the most. She wouldn’t do it around me but I found her crying alone at night sometimes. She cries even harder and longer than even Mei and sometimes she cries so much that she falls asleep like that. I try to cheer her up, I really do but I know it’s not enough. I know she tries to hide it but mama, she always gets so sad.”

Sasai watched this all and snickered a bit in the background but eventually stopped as he was starting to get affected by Mei’s story.

Danny knelt down and wanted to caress Mei but he feared his rough hand would harm her and so he held back but still offered words of comfort.

“I’ve been sad too. Being so far away, not being able to hold either of you, play with you, or have Tsura try and teach me to cook. Even just simply being around the two of you, in your presence, I have been very lonely but you want to know something?”

Mei tilted her head in curiosity.

“We don’t have to be apart anymore. You and I are here now and later on, we can go together to meet Tsura. We can all be together. How does that sound?”

Mei hugged Danny even tighter and cried even harder while nodding as though her life depended on it.

At this time, there was a small tap on Kazuki’s shoulder. Shaila pointed at the man slowly starting to lose consciousness behind them.

Kazuki looked at the man and then back at Mei.

“Mei, who is this man?”

Bozek though was already out of it. The pressure was far too much and his eyes rolled up in his head. Darkness filled his vision and he was out cold.
