Return of the Fallen Volume 8 Chapter 51
Inhaling deeply, energy gathered around this breath. Opening his mouth as wide as possible, Glacious roared outward.
“Severing Tempest!”
As he roared at the top of his lungs, a hurricane dozens of miles wide formed in front of him and rushed forward. The tearing winds, combined with this sword form energy, riped outward and destroyed another large portion of the Miasma in front of him.
Glacious’s aura spread far and wide and he could sense the biggest part of the Miasma was moving further and further south. It along with the Azirian’s was moving away from him and he could already sense the reason why.
He felt Garn’s presence thousands of miles away and he could feel the power of Garn’s floating palace destroying cities and killing millions of people. Glacious didn’t care about any of these people, why should he. That concern was not for him. Instead, his attention was split between the Miasma as well as Fera’s fake bodies.
He could sense Garn moving to other cities and doing the same thing. As he did this, Glacious could feel the Miasma changing course and heading deeper into the Patar desert. Garn was leading the Miasma away but for what purpose Glacious couldn’t comprehend.
(Just what is that bastard Garn trying to accomplish. I already have to split my focus between the Miasma and Fera. If he continues to lead it further away, I will not be able to deal with the parts that divide itself from the main source of Miasma. Every time I try and head towards the Miasma, another one of Fera’s fake bodies appears and stands in my path. These fake bodies don’t delay me for long but they do delay me. I have no time to leave from here without another body popping up out of nowhere.)
Glacious had been fighting constantly for over a year straight. Day and night. He only had rest for a few moments or a few minutes before either the Miasma or one of Fera’s fake bodies blocked his path. He didn’t suspect anything from this at first but as time passed, it grew obvious that Fera was timing her attacks in coordination with the Miasma’s.
This was strange, far too strange. To his knowledge, the Miasma was basically a mindless gob of mist that consumed energy and life and sometimes warped life creating disgusting monsters. The way it continually came at him time and time again, right as one of Fera’s fake bodies was destroyed. It left a bad feeling in the back of his mind.
(It seems as if Garn is currently leading the Miasma but if he’s figured such a thing out, could Fera have done the same but much sooner. For it to continuously come at me as soon as Fera is gone, could she be controlling it? For what reason though?)
All of this of course was speculative but it made sense to Glacioius. The Miasma’s strange movements weren’t random he thought. This though led to more questions which he neither had the time to solve nor dwell upon.
It was at this time that Glacious began to sense Garn. Glacious felt space start to tear several thousand miles away, as Garn teleported in front of another city. Glacious once again had no care for another human city that Garn was going to destroy until he felt something else.
(Nunully!!)
Glacious’s eyes went wide as he sensed not only Nunully but Asuna and, Sam, Kimi, Shin, and a few others flying above the city. All of them hovered high above this doomed city and blocked Garn’s path.
Glacious immediately grew alarmed as he soon felt Garn’s floating palace start to gather power.
(This bastard! He wouldn’t dare touch a hair on Nunully’s head!)
Glacious could feel the power within the palace reaching its apex and he understood right away.
(He’s not going to stop!)
Glacious power moved within him like a tidal wave over the ocean. One of his eyes began to glow with purple light and he clawed at the air in front of him. Space distorted right away and a small rip formed.
(He’s finally lost it! I PROMISED TO HELP FIGHT WITH YOU AS AN ALLY AND YET THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME! DIE!)
Glacious reached his hand forward and a tear in space formed above Garn’s floating palace. Just as Glacious was about to reach through and destroy Garn, Glacious sensed a tremendous power racing at his back.
A powerful energy source came raining down atop him. Glacious was not one to fret over some random power but this felt nearly as strong as his own power.
He was forced to pull his arm away from the tear in space and defend himself. Just as he pulled his arm away, a mountain as hard as a diamond crashed into him.
Glacious gathered his strength in an instance and unleashed a titanic punch upward.
*BANG!!!*
The mountain shattered in the air and scattered over nearly a hundred miles.
With a wave of his hand, all of the fragments and debris were thrown away and the skies cleared in an instant. Two figures appeared in the sky at this moment and slowly descend to the ground.
As soon as Glacious saw their appearance he was enraged.
“For what reason do the two Beast Kings attack me!”
King Azar landed softly on the ground and next to him stood a large figure, just as tall as he and just as large. Both had come from seemingly nowhere like ghosts. King Azar smiled.
“Do we need a reason to attack you? Last I checked, dropping a mountain on you is hardly an attack in the first place and is more akin to a greeting.”
Glacious snarled at the two Ancient beasts.
“You call that a greeting! Stop with the games here and now! You two have attacked me even though you know what I am currently dealing with. I’ll take this as your intention to forget all the peace we’ve had. You two have long wished me dead for no reason but you know things will not go your way.”
The Ancient beasts standing next to King Azar pointed his finger at Glacious and spit as he talked.
“You little lizard bastard. It’s that arrogance as always that knows no bounds. You’ve always acted as if we are beneath you and believed this world to be yours and yours alone. You stupid prideful lizard. It is us Beast kings who will rule over this entire world. First, we’ll kill you once and for all and claim Feya for ourselves. After that, the rest of the world will take its rightful place beneath we two Kings’ feet. Things won’t go our way, after being weakened from a Titan’s soul attack as well as fighting nonstop for more than a year, do you really believe that it is us that will lose?”
Glacious crossed his arms.
“I have no time for this shit. You wish to die so badly, I will gladly assist you both. Before we do this though, are you both so sure you can beat me? WHat will you do when one of Fera’s fake bodies shows up. Will one of you fight me while the other deals with her. You think you can take me on one on one?”
“You fucking prick! You think I’m scared to fight you by myself! I’ll
“Enough! King Berus! He’s just trying to get under your skin and make you make a mistake. We did not come here to fall for his head games but to destroy him once and for all. There is no one on ones. We are going to stick to the plan and take him together. This may be our only chance to take the continent and everything else once and for all. Look past his words and focus solely on him.”
King Berus had rage within his eyes but after hearing King Azar’s words, his ever-increasing temper fell in an instant and he regained his calmness.
Glacious was surprised by this. King Berus was King of the southern region. He and all of the Ancient beasts who served him considered everyone else as beneath them. At the same time, it was this complex oh his that showed how fragile his ego really was. He was prone to anger very easily. So when Glacious provoked him, he expected King Berus to make the first move. Glacious was prepared to counter in an instant and deal a finishing blow right from the beginning but to his shock, King Azar had claimed him.
“Hmm, It seems you two really do mean to kill me. Fine then, let us
Just as he spoke up to here, another unwelcomed guest showed up.
A large body formed out of hardened rock materialized from the ground. A familiar face was molded onto the head and a large smile appeared on this face. A booming voice echoed out from this new figure.
“So, the animals finally decided to make a move. Good, I was starting to grow bored.”
