Return of the Fallen Volume 8 Chapter 76
(Hmm, It seems the mutt has defeated my other fake body.)
Fera flew through the air with little resistance. Behind her, more than a dozen Ancient beasts were on her tail. They wished to stop her and delay her as long as possible while their King Berus, along with King Azar fight and kill Glacious.
Fera originally intended to play with the flies for a bit but she still did need to remove Etora from the equation. If he were to give back up to Glacious, then the battle between the Glacious and the two kings would be drawn out for more than she intended. Now that Etora destroyed one of her fake bodies she needed to create another fake body.
She understood her strength in this form. In order to take on Etora, she knew that in order to take Etora out, she would need at least two fake bodies to take him out. Up to this point, she could only send one to Etora and one to Glacious and this could only delay them. Now that Glacious was fighting the two kings, she could finally send two after Etora and end him once and for all.
As she sensed Etora’s movements, she felt some urgency. She thought for sure he would head directly to Glacious’s side to help him but to her surprise, Etora headed deeper south.
(He went south? I don’t know why he chose to go further into the Patar desert but this is good. I’ll remove these annoyances behind me and then two of me will intercept Etora before he heads to Glacious. I’ll kill the mutt and then both of my fake bodies will head to the kings and the lizard. With all three of them weak, their fates will be sealed.)
Fera’s plan was set. She suddenly and without warning stopped in mid-air.
All of the Ancient beasts from the south had caught up to her at this moment.
A large-looking man pointed a heavy spear at her and shouted.
“Surround her. We cannot allow her to destroy Etora and must by his majesty lord Berus as much time as possible to destroy Glacious!”
As soon as he said this the other Ancient beasts formed a large circle around Fera’s fake body. It was rare for Ancient beasts to have weapons. After all most weapons were inferior to an Ancient beast’s body and therefore were unnecessary. Right now though things were different. Each Ancient beast drew a specialized weapon of sorts. Each of these weapons was crafted to near perfection and made from the finest materials. Even their bodies could not compare to these weapons.
They had prepared these weapons specifically for Fera’s fake body, which spoke volumes. An Ancient Beasts preparing a weapon to use against a foe said what needed to be said. They took this as seriously as possible and moved cautiously.
Fera watched them surround her with a vicious smile. She slowly turned around in mid-air to confront the one who just shouted. Her body right now was made from a variety of simple rocks she gathered from the ground. Opening her mouth produced a loud boom as she spoke.
“You all! Do you really not see how foolish you truly are!”
As she spoke, the simple rocks that made up her body started to change. The turned dark and blackened before condensing down. As they did they changed from rock into black crystals.
The Ancient beasts saw this change and knew what it meant. Her body was becoming harder and denser. If they waited any longer, the weapons that they received specifically to deal with her would become useless.
The one leading them roared at the top of his lungs before lunging forward.
“KILL HER NOW!!”
Charging forward more than a dozen Ancient beasts swung, slashed, hammered, and struck down upon her with everything they had. At the same time, to prevent her from dodging their attacks they all sent out their aura to crush down atop her.
The weight and pressure alone from all of these combined auras was enough to crack the crystal-like flesh she had just created. The attacks came immediately afterward from many different angles. Fera though didn’t even try and move. The crystal gems in her eyes, in a flash they lit up with fiendish green light.
“Gravity.”
The word was simple but the moment it slipped from her lips, the weapons collapsing atop her froze in the air and the Ancient beasts surrounding her, no matter how much strength they used, they couldn’t move them forward a single inch.
They could all see how bad this was and none hesitated to use their respective magic abilities.
All at once, they fired their most powerful attack at her. Infernal flames as hot as a sun. Light so bright and concentrated it could turn rock to magma at a moment’s notice. Ice that could turn flesh to powder. Lightning that could reduce one to ash etc. Every element except the element of time and space were present.
These Ancient beasts fired all of them at once and could feel the effects of their ally’s powers and had to retreat backward slightly as all of these powers came colliding at a center point. In an instant, they pierced through Fera’s boundary made from gravity and exploded on her body.
Her crystallized body shattered and exploded into thousands upon thousands of pieces, scattering her remains over several miles.
The Ancient beasts all shared a shocked look. They did indeed use all of their abilities at once to take her out but they didn’t really think that her body would be destroyed just like that. A moment of disbelief spread among them but barely a few seconds passed before this disbelief turned to horror.
The ground quickly trembled and shook with a great quake. Stones began to roll across the ground and gather beneath them.
“TO THE SKY! SHE’S TURNING THE ENTIRE GROUND INTO HER BODY!”
A warning came but it was already too late. A mouth mad of rocks formed on the ground and spoke with power.
“GRAVITY!”
The moment Fera said this, all of the Ancient beasts that were trying to fly away suddenly felt their weight increase by a thousand times and then two thousand times and then three.
They felt themselves being pulled toward the ground at a rapid rate. At the same time, the rolling rocks on the ground turned into black crystals and condensed. They then changed once more from black crystals into metal and condensed further, before changing once again into something that resembled a mix of both diamond and metal.
A small female humanoid figure rose up from the ground and opened her eyes revealing a dark green.
All of the beasts saw this and tried to crush Fera with their combined auras but these auras did very little. Taking a single step forward, her body flashed and left a streak of light behind her. She appeared behind one of the beasts as fast as lightning and she raised her hand.
The other Ancient beast saw this and the hair stood up on the back of his neck in fear.
“MOVE AWAY FROM HER!!”
Again this warning was far too late. Fera took her raised hand and chopped down as if she were simply dropping her hand. The moment her hand touched the man’s head, her hand had already passed through his body as if she were a ghostly being.
Another step forward she arrived in front of a tall woman and pushed her hand into the woman’s head and out the other side. The woman’s entire head exploded on contact and as if perfectly timed, the man she had chopped, split in half and fell apart there and then.
The one leading these Ancient beasts was absolutely shocked by this sight.
(Two…Two in an instant!)
As soon as the bodies fell to the ground, the Magical Beast cores within exploded. This though was barely even a bother to Fera. She moved like an untouchable shadow with terrifying speed. The gravity still held the others in place while on her own body it lightened it and allowed her to accelerate so fast that she moved around the exploding force without being affected by it.
Because of this, even though everyone else was moving as fast as possible to avoid the explosion, in her eyes it was as if they were standing still.
The explosion had still not fully reached its apex when she appeared near another two opponents. With both hands, she reached forward and grabbed their heads, and then proceeded to slam the two heads into one another. The two tried to resist with all of their strength and counter with their aura and magic but Fera was simply too overwhelming in both strength and magic. Their bodies were like toys to her and as they slammed into one another, the heads exploded like melons.
“This is taking too long.”
Fera pointed at the sky above and dark clouds formed in an instant.
“Die already!”
Pointing at one of the Ancient beasts, a bolt of lightning came crashing down atop the creature’s head. The beast’s head exploded and she pointed from one person to the next. The lightning followed her point and humped from one person to the next. Each time it struck a head and exploded it before doing the same to the next person and the next.
Several more Beast cores exploded at this time but Fera didn’t care in the least. With the material her body was made of, these explosions would do almost no damage to her. A moment later, she flicked her wrist, and the storms formed from all the excess magical energy were pushed away and cleared.
Looking around, the ground was completely charred and poisoned from both the explosions and pure energy but Fera just looked annoyed.
There were no Ancient beasts left. Fera, in less than one minute, had managed to kill them all from start to finish.
With this done she quickly absorbed all of the pure energy into her body and left none behind. She did not do this because she cared about the continent no instead even this had a purpose.
(If I were to leave all of this energy the Miasma would change course. I can’t have that now can I.)
Fera took to the skies and sensed Etora’s presence.
(The mutt is over there huh?)
A creepy smile formed on her lips before she flew further south at a great speed.
