Return of the Fallen Volume 8 Chapter 78
One of Fera’s fake bodies raced toward Etora and at the same time, Etora raced to meet Fera.
The two were separated by less than a thousand miles and were rapidly approaching one another.
(Hmm, it seems the mutt has brought a few lackeys for me to crush. No matter, once he and his minions are destroyed, the kings and lizard are next.)
Barely a few seconds passed and Etora, along with Kazuki, Danny, Shaila, Tozu, and Sasai all arrived in front of Fera. As soon as they arrived, Fera was speechless for a brief moment as she took in the sight of Kazuki. This was not the brother she knew. His body had changed and he even had aura now. She could sense he was at the Core stage but it surprised her that he held little to no fear for her presence.
“This bastard! The air has been foul for a while. I suspect it’s because you still roam this world.”
Kazuki could already feel his blood boiling. The puppet in front of him was not his real sister’s form but the body still held a fragment of her soul, along with some of her power and all of her nasty personality.
“You speak of foul after all you’ve done. No, everything that you are is foul. The damage you’ve done, the many you’ve harmed. You are an evil bitch pure and simple.”
Fera cracked a smile.
“The feeling is mutual. Simple though you are dead wrong.”
Fera noticed the golden compass around Kazuki’s neck and the gems in her eyes lit up with excitement.
“My compass, you’ve kept it well for me. Give it to me and I’ll kill you quickly, that shall be the only mercy you receive from me. Refuse and I’ll take my time tormenting you, just like in the old days. How’s that sound?”
Fera made it up to here when she sent out her aura to inspect the compass. As soon as she sensed the compass her expression changed in an instant and she became enraged.
“You fucking little weasel! What have you done with the godly aura in the compass!? WHERE IS IT!?”
Kazuki didn’t understand why she was so upset but her fluster caused him joy. Holding the compass out he twirled it playfully.
“Why should I tell an enemy anything?”
Fera could feel Zetrazz’s dark energy inside the compass but the energy was passive leading her to believe Zetrazz was not protecting Kazuki. At the same time, she did some calculations in her head.
(The aura is gone but the compass is still intact. Things were already difficult without the second compass but I already thought of a way around that. Damn, losing the godly aura is a loss but I already managing without it. The compass itself still holds value for me. Once I kill these bastards and retrieve the compass, I’ll be able to move the timeline up.)
Kazuki could see the greed in Fera’s eyes. To him, this compass held sentimental value. It was gifted to him by his adoptive father. His father was a good man but Kazuki didn’t understand how he could have been so blind to his wife and his daughter’s evil deeds. The compass in his hands was basically the only item he really treasured. Yet for some reason this thing that has only been with Kazuki for all of these years, Fera was always interested in it. The question that appeared in his mind was why.
Knowing Fera though, there was no way in the 7 realms of hell that she would tell him and so it was pointless to even try and ask.
“Here’s a counteroffer dearest sister. You leave this continent here and now and never return. Do so and I promise, the day I have the strength, I will personally come and kill you, quickly. Don’t leave and I will still come for you. I’ll still come and kill you quickly because torturing you is simply not worth it. Your mother on the other hand, yes, I could go for some torture when it comes to her. After I kill you once and for all, her head will be next. Wiping both of your existences away, that will be my mercy for the world.”
Fera’s anger began to take over.
“Right, forget tormenting you, you will not live past today.”
As she spoke rocks along the ground rolled into a large pile. Without another word she actually tried to make a second fake body in front of them. Seeing this, how would Kazuki or the others not try and interfere. Kazuki shouted behind him.
“NOW!”
This war call was the start of battle. Etora came rushing forward and tackled Fera to the ground and the two began to brawl. At the same time, the rocks were still piling up and were forming a body.
Kazuki’s eyes shined with emerald light and using both gravity as well as his aura, he was able to stop the rocks dead in their tracks. Fera thought would not be stopped. Her eyes shined as well. Even though she could only use a fragment of her power in this fake body, it was still magic above the 6th stage. Her magic trumped Kazuki’s. The rocks began to move once more.
Shaila, Tozu, and Sasai slammed their aura down atop these rocks and crushed them into fine powder.
Etora’s fist punched into Fera’s chest and exploded out of her back. Fera changed her form and wrapped what was already around Etora’s arm even tighter and lightning came flying from the tips of her fingers directly in Etora’s face. At the same time, she increased the gravity of the entire surrounding area by several thousandfolds.
Kazuki and the others felt their bodies sink down some but they could still freely.
Etora opened his mouth and swallowed the lightning with ease before head-butting Fera. Her head cracked but it quickly repaired. Etora then slammed Fera into the ground crushing her fake body.
The moment she was crushed into the ground, the ground seemed to swallow her entirely as if she fell into water. The very next moment AEtora began to sink downward as well. A huge mouth formed beneath him and attempted to swallow him whole.
“YOU THINK YOU CAN EAT ME!?”
Etora rose a foot up before stomping down with titanic might.
*BANG!*
The continent seemed to quake beneath his feet and the ground fractured and exploded for dozens of miles around. After a moment the ground stopped shaking and the world seemed to grow quiet. Danny was watching this all play out and was observing everything carefully. His senses seeped into the ground and covered a large portion of the sky.
He watched and observed, taking everything in.
As the world grew quiet, Etora’s eyes and senses scanned all around him.
“She’s not done yet. Be on guard! She’ll try and strike from anywhere.”
Shaila, Tozu, and Sasai all formed barriers around themselves in anticipation. Kazuki as well strengthened his body with aura and circulated his ki as fast as possible. His aura spread out, he was ready.
*Crack! Boom!*
Thunder boomed and lightning began to whip and strike in the ever-darkening sky.
Everyone knew what was coming next.
A large face formed in the clouds above and it was shaped as Fera.
“So that was the opening move. You can use a little aura and gravity. Kazuki, is this why you have no fear? You seem to think I need rocks to make a second body.”
As soon as she said that, the large cloud that made up her body suddenly divided into two and made a second body. Both were made of dark storm clouds. Inside lightning constantly cracked, lighting up the inside of her two bodies in an eerily way.
Fera opened both of her mouths and from one came hundreds of lightning bolts and from the other came hurricanes with wind blades hurling within them.
All at once, these powers descended from the sky like the heavens fury.
Etora opened his mouth and activated his devouring ability immediately.
A large suction force formed and he began to swallow massive amounts of lighting and as many hurricanes as possible. Fera knew this would happen but she did not care. She simply increased her attacks.
More lightning more hurricanes. Etora could take these attacks without harm but he could not swallow all of them. As Fera continued to increase her attack, more and more lightning and hurricanes were diverted from Etora’s mouth and came flying at Kazuki and the rest.
Blue flames erupted beneath Kazuki’s feet and he began dodging the lightning and using the drawing force of the hurricanes he allowed himself to be pulled toward them for a fraction of a second to accelerate at a faster speed around them. Shaila and the others did the same but their speed wasn’t as fast as Kauzki’s and so their barriers were struck time and time again.
The magical barriers around them warped every now and again but they were still okay. Danny on the other hand was still observing. Every now and again, a bolt of lightning would strike him but because he could already handle lightning and his body was made from god metal, the lightning-caused no damage to him whatsoever. Not only that but Danny even took control of some of the lightning striking at him. redirecting it, he destroyed any wind blades that came near without second thought.
Danny could feel a slight difference in the way he used lightning and the way Fera was. Something began to form in his mind and he began to understand something.
(Is that how she’s doing it?)
