Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 106

While Kazuki was lost in Fera’s words, Detra had another opinion.

“Maybe your right but have you considered the consequences if you’re wrong? Let’s say it was your father that’s been observing through Kazuki’s compass all this time. What would the point of it all be? Just to see Kazuki’s death, it makes no sense. Besides, I’ve met your father long ago. It was brief, a mere few minutes at most but I never forget one’s energy after I’ve felt it and that aura coming from the compass, it does not belong to the same person. It does not belong to your father.”

Once again Kazuki was thrown for a loop.

(Not my father…then who, why?)

Fera as well had not considered this a possibility. She personally witnessed the day her father handed that compass to Kazuki and later when she found out her mother and father were gods, it only made sense that the godly aura within Kazuki’s compass was her father’s. At the same time, she had no way to confirm if it really was her fathers. After all, she was a child when she learned of her father’s status and could not sense or feel such powerful energies. She had no real way of telling if the aura coming from Kazuki’s compass was in fact her father’s or not.

Still, even if the energy within came from a different person, why should that matter to her. This god has done nothing but watch. Her point still stood.

“So what. If it’s father or someone else, who fucking cares. In the end, Kazuki is still all alone. No one is coming to help and no one cares whether he lives. Now if you are done spouting bullshit, take your weak useless sons with you and get out of my way before I make you get out of my way.”

Detra smirked at Fera and went nowhere. Instead, she approached Kazuki and straight-up asked him.

“Do you wish for help, Kazuki?”

Fera flew in front of her, eyes bulging and power gathering.

“So you’ve shown your true colors. Fine, let’s do this.”

Detra waved her hand and time which stood still for all except Fera, suddenly inexplicably slowed. Fera’s movements, her entirety moved at half her original speed and she was now affected by time.

This was completely unexpected and left her terrified.

All at once, her defensive measures were raised as she expected Detra’s onslaught but it didn’t come. Instead, Detra was focused on Kazuki as she asked him once again.

“Do you want help or maybe you have things worked out and I’m simply being a nuisance?”

Kazuki snapped out of it but he couldn’t understand Detra’s motives. She was the most powerful being he had ever met and she could destroy Fera, yet she didn’t, she wouldn’t and was instead asking if he wanted help.

(Why would she offer me help when she could handle all of this here and now?)

Detra flicked Kazuki on the forehead to get his attention, her voice becoming cold.

“Are you ignoring me? I asked you a question, answer me or I’ll assume you need nothing and leave.”

Fera’s eyes widened in absolute rage.

“Are you not afraid of my family? Even if I can’t beat you, my mother and our side will end you and this little world.”

Again Fera was ignored and Kazuki seeing a small sliver of hope return, finally answered.

“Yes. I…Please help!”

Detra smirked once more.

“And what would you do for the one who helped?”

Kazuki was in no place to negotiate nor would he try in such a desperate situation.

“Anything you wish!”

Detra expected this.

“You don’t know this but I saved all of your little friends earlier, so you already owe me one. With this, you will owe me two favors. Favors that cannot simply be repaid in blood, sweat, and tears. Do you understand my words Kazuki?”

With Fera focusing on defense, her power around Kazuki weakened greatly and he could move once more. In this predicament, all he could do is nod.

“I understand, I will owe you all that you ask and more. So please…Help.”

At first, he didn’t understand where the other favor came from but she did mention saving his friends, so he put that together. He didn’t know how he would repay a Titan, after all, what could he give or do for a Titan that they themselves couldn’t. In the end though, this was his only lifeline and without hesitation, he grabbed hold of it with everything he had.

Detra nodded.

“Very well Kazuki.”

Fera exploded in anger.

“You think you’ll get away with this! You think you can just get in the way anytime you wish. You spoke of consequences for me but shouldn’t you listen to your own words?”

Detra wagged her finger.

“When did I get in the way. Have I stopped you from killing Kazuki? Have I stopped you from ascending or did I merely come here and take away my sons and have a small conversation? I made a deal with Kazuki and offered help but I never said where such help would come from. As it stands, I’ve been true to my word so calm yourself child or I might really have to step in and show you how a real lady works.”

Fera couldn’t argue with Detra as she had yet to actually do anything but her rage was not something that could be settled with logic. Fera wished to destroy Detra right there and then but she now understood she was not her match, at least not yet. She eyed the remaining giant Azirian’s. Under Detra’s power, the godly aura within the two giants had froze. In order to gain their power and reach a level where she could finally look down upon Detra, she needed Detra to withdraw so time would start up again.

So for her own sake, Fera for once bit her tongue and only glared death at Detra.

(Once this whore is gone, I’ll absorb the rest of the souls in the Azirian’s and become a Demigod. After I kill Kazuki, I’ll personally murder both Zetrazz and Torzz in front of you, nice and slow. Once I’ve broken you and taken everything you’ve ever cared for and destroyed it, finally, I’ll release you from this lower realm and scatter your soul to the lowest realm of hell.)

A demonic smile spread across Fera’s face but Detra didn’t care. Detra snapped her fingers and a rift appeared behind her. Grabbing her sons, she tossed them into the rift as if they were trash. The two could not resist in the least or rather, were happy to go after everything was said and done. The two had originally gotten involved for their own selfish reasons but when things started to threaten their lives, the both of them realized what was on the line and actually felt fear. All they wanted was to leave this place.

So when they were finally tossed inside this portal to who knows where the two both felt a wave of relief wash over them.

Kazuki on the other hand did not share this feeling of joy or relief. Detra had said she would help but at this moment, she was walking into her rift to leave.

“DETRA!”

Kazuki couldn’t help but call out. Detra turned to him and her eyes glowed with bright purple light for but an instant. The very next second they dimmed and she simply gave Kazuki a wink before stepping into her portal and vanishing into thin air.

Fera saw this and became excited.

(So she really left, well somewhat.)

Fera could feel Detra’s power remaining all around. It surrounded the area for a few hundred miles. Just as Fera had made a domain to block Kazuki from using the power of space, Detra now did the same but it was more than that. Not only would using the power of space be incredibly difficult in this area but destroying this domain of space would be impossible unless one was stronger than Detra herself.

The domain covered the land and sky and covered the place. In this way, the world would be protected from Fera and Kazuki’s battle.

(So she does nothing but watches this entire time and now she decides to protect the world from me by covering this place with her power. Did she foresee this and do this on purpose. After her sons basically exhausted themselves because they thought there would be no help from her. In doing so, when she finally does show up, she can easily subdue them both and take them away without complaints. Is this the power of a mother, hmph.)

Fera tried to use space magic and found it incredibly difficult to do.

(Why isn’t she restarting time yet.)

As if to answer her own question, a new rift appeared in the sky above. The moment this tear in space opened, time restarted.

A familiar voice echoed out from the tear.

“Fera, that was quite nasty of you. Not that I’d expect any different from such a vile woman.”

Fera became annoyed sensing this familiar presence.

“ZEPHRIS! YOU DON’T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT!”
