Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 112

Kazuki continued to flit across space leaving behind only flashes of light as he escaped from Fera’s grasp. He could take her blows again and again but if she got a hold of him and ripped his head off, well of course that would be his end.

(Zephris there has to be another way. The energy in space is so thin and scarce, the amount I absorb would only cost me time and more energy to stop and take it in. If I stop teleporting, and Fera keeps up with this instant movement, I won’t be able to escape her grasp. Tell me you have another idea.)

Zephris didn’t know either.

(The only way is to absorb enough magic into your core and then absorb your own magic into your soul tree. If you can’t find a way to do this…We will lose.)

This was not what Kazuki wanted to hear and a strange silence fell between the two.

With no help from Zephris, Kazuki was on his own. A million different ideas flowed through his mind.

(Maybe.)

The moment Kazuki teleported he used the severing tempest with his aura. In a single moment, he sent out thousands of severing tempest into the distance. The very next moment, Fera appeared behind him and reached forward but Kazuki vanished by the time her hand tried to grip his neck. She knew this would happen and wasn’t disappointed. At the rate they were going, it would only be a matter of time before Kazuki’s energy ran out and she would still have plenty in the tank. In this way, whether it took 10 days or a hundred, eventually he would run empty and be caught.

Fera’s eyes continued to glow with purple light. Continuing to sense the flow of Kazuki’s energy she followed after him and teleported away.

Kazuki once more reappeared. The moment he showed up, he could sense the severing tempest he launched ahead of him, catching up from behind.

(Damn it’s slightly too slow. I’ll have to buy a moment if this is going to work.)

Just as he thought this, Fera appeared behind him, her hand reaching out like a fierce and sharp claw as she tried to take his head off with a swift swipe.

She fully expected Kazuki to teleport away once more but to her surprise, he went to block her attack. Kazuki reached out and grabbed Fera’s hand, interlocking his fingers with hers. The moment he caught her hand she tried to break his hand so she could grab his neck or pierce his skull but Aura strengthening flowed into him along with his ki. At the same time, Kazuki forced the oxygen in his blood out through his pores and combined it with his aura, causing aura breath to coat his body.

This could barely lessen Fera’s true strength but with all of this, his hand was not fully crushed under Fera’s might. Several bones did break at this moment but Kazuki still had strength enough to hold onto her hand and not let go. With his near-instant recovery, his hand healed and he gripped hers tighter.

Fera was confused why he didn’t flee but it was only a small curiosity. Rather she preferred he didn’t run, this would save her time. If she couldn’t force this hand off of hers, then she would simply use her other hand. Her left hand came racing to meet Kazuki’s head but Kazuki expected this.

He coated gravity around Fera’s hand, increasing its weight by tens of millions of pounds. Her hand was slowed by a fraction of a second. At the same time, Kazuki’s flames appeared atop Fera’s wrists. With a thought, the flames burned at a terrifying temperature. These flames of course did no damage whatsoever to Fera but they weren’t meant to. With this blazing flame atop her wrists, combined with the insane weight of gravity on her hand, her punch that could rip through planets with ease was actually forced downward at a slight angle and slowed by a few fractions of a second.

This slight delay, allowed Kazuki to catch up to her hand with his own and catch her left hand by her wrists. He now had both of her hands locked in his own. Fera tried to pull Kazuki forward and rip his hands off but Kazuki simply allowed himself to be pulled forward. She then tried to break his hands but again just like before, with all of Kazuki’s defenses, she could only do so much damage before his hands recovered and he kept his grip firmly on her.

(You think holding onto me will keep you alive. You really are a dumb little rat bastard.)

These thoughts could not reach Kazuki but he could tell from her demonic glare that whatever she was thinking was clearly hostile.

It should have been her holding Kazuki in place before killing him but instead, it was he who held onto her, seemingly clinging on to the last of his little life.

Fera went to kick Kazuki but Kazuki made the first move. Both of his legs wrapped around Fera’s waist as if he were a monkey. This was somewhat shameful and embarrassing for Fera but to a desperate Kazuki this was completely fair and when one’s life was on the line, there was no longer such a thing as embarrassment.

(If I’m wrapped around her waist, then she can’t kick me at all. Now I have your hands and your legs are useless in this position, next would naturally be…)

His thoughts came to here before he saw Fera lean her head back. The moment she did this, he knew a headbutt would be coming but again he was a step ahead. As she moved her head back for an attack, he moved his forward and tucked his head directly under her chin. With his head touching her neck, it was both out of the way of her attack and she could not put any force behind her head butt. Even if she could put force behind this attack, because of the way Kazuki was positioned, she wouldn’t be able to hit him anyway.

A strange sight was displayed in the depths of space. If one were to see the two from a distance, it would appear as if a couple was slow dancing or maybe a mother was carrying her overgrown big ass child. Laughable, yes, weird, absolutely, but sometimes that’s how fights were, simply ridiculous.

(What the fuck is this rat doing, why is he holding onto me like a damn monkey?)

Kazuki could still feel that his severing tempests were still not here yet.

(Damn, I teleported too far away and didn’t time it right at all. If she gets any strange ideas and moves away before it arrives, I could lose this opportunity. I need to keep her attention and focus on me and not her surroundings at all costs.)

Kazuki changed the position of his head slightly and opened his mouth as wide as possible.

(Let’s see how you like this!)

Kazuki bit down with his full force. His teeth combined with the strength in his jaws allowed him to just barely pierce Fera’s neck and draw blood.

As soon as he bit into her flesh, Fera’s eyes widened in shock.

She had never been bitten in such a place, especially not by a man and this odd painful feeling caused her to scream out. This scream though reached no one as there was no sound in space. This weird bite was something she had never expected and she quickly struggled in Kazuki’s grip with all she had.

Her muscles coiled like a metallic snake before she flexed them with full force.

(THIS BASTARD! LET ME GOOOO!)

Kazuki could feel his legs loosening slightly as she flexed her hips and the grip on his hands became tighter and tighter. Fera’s eyes looked as if she would explode at any moment as she fought with every ounce of strength. Kazuki expected her to fight back but this fierceness was unexpected and almost threw him off from this alone.

(I just need to hold on a little longer, I can sense, the sword form, it’s nearly here. The moment it gets here I’ll teleport away. The severing tempest should destroy whatever residual energy I leave behind, when that happens Fera shouldn’t be able to track wherever I teleport to.)

Holding onto Fera though would be much harder than Kazuki thought. As she continued to fight with all of her strength, her nails elongated by several inches before she squeezed down on Kazuki’s hands with them. The nails pierced his flesh before stopping once they met bone. Fera’s fingers then proceeded to dance as if she were playing the piano, allowing her to shred the inside of Kazuki’s hand.

His nerves and other parts were cut, causing his hand to go limp for a split second. This though was only a minor setback. Kazuki manipulated his bones as he had done so many times in the past, causing the broken bones in his hand to wrap around Fera’s fingers. In an instant, they healed and once more Fera was locked up.

(Here it comes.)
