Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 46
The Moment Kazuki was struck, he used his aura breath, aura strengthening, and ki to increase his defense severalfold. Not only that, he used his aura as a shield. Folding it atop of itself dozens of times, these many layers, combined with the god metal armor he wore, gave him just enough protection to survive a strike from a being that was at the 7th stage.
As Kazuki was hammered into the ground, he went through several miles of rock. When he finally came to a stop, most of his body had been destroyed. If he didn’t change his ki circulation from one of strength to one of healing right after he was struck, he would have died instantly. On top of switching his ki from strengthing he also used his gordonia magic to rapidly regenerate his most vital organs, keeping his lifeline just barely open.
Kazuki’s entire body was trembling at this moment as he lay deep underground.
The armor he had just made was completely obliterated.
(Too close…Far too close.)
Kazuki did not rush back to the surface as he knew what was coming next and he didn’t want to get caught up in it.
“Zephris your idea was spot on.”
(I wouldn’t exactly say it’s my idea. Actually, this was a trick that Zetrazz himself employed when he tried to get your adoptive mother to destroy the land. If he knew that we used his trick, do you think he’d laugh or cry?)
—————————————————————————-
Up above, King Azar knew for sure he had just crushed Kazuki. There was no way a human could survive such a blow after all. Not just him but Glacious and Etora believed this to be true as well.
Glacious felt his rage erupt within him. Kazuki had just given him a new chance, he would not let his death be in vain. Glacious dove toward King Azar, his claws extended ready to rip out the lion’s throat.
King Azar roared and got into a fighting stance.
“Just because you’ve recovered a little strength means nothing. I’ll kill you just the same I did that human.”
Glacious eyes bulged as if he was going insane. He raced forward but just before the two clashed, powerful dark energy came crashing down on King Azar from above. King Azar barely had time to even utter a word before Zetrazz crushed him into meat paste.
It had all happened too suddenly and King Azar was dead just like that. The Magic beast core within him immediately exploded but even the collateral damage from this explosion, Zetrazz would not let him have that either. His dark energy wrapped around the explosion instantly and suppressed it as if it were nothing. Just like that, in a single second, one of the beast kings had fallen.
Zetrazz was still pissed.
“How many times must you beasts be warned to not destroy the continent. To think you would not see through Kazuki’s ploy.”
Zetrazz now understood why Kazuki was ignoring him. It turns out he had a plan. In order to get Zetrazz to step in, Kazuki first opened a hole in his dome, then Kazuki gave energy to Glacious, in this way it would clearly antagonize King Azar.
Then Kazuki simply needed to receive the king’s attack. Kazuki would crash through the very hole he opened up and the land beneath it would be destroyed. However, it wasn’t Kazuki who initiated the attack but King Azar so it would be him that Zetrazz blamed. Just as he thought, the moment he was lying at the bottom of this underground, Zetrazz didn’t hesitate to destroy King Azar in one fell swoop.
As soon as King Azar was dead, Glacious didn’t question it. He changed directions and aimed at King Berus, who was still in Etora’s bear-like grip. Claws extended, Glacious decapitated Berus in an instant.
Berus’s Beast core exploded outward but Zetrazz did nothing to stop it as king Berus had nothing to do with destroying the continent. Because of this, Glacious and Etora, who were already exhausted could only take this explosion head-on and get thrown backward like rag dolls.
As the dust settled, Kazuki finally made his move. Flying out of the underground, he landed beside Glacious and gave him more healing ki. Glacious had no words and was truly shocked at this moment.
“Glacious, I need you to trust me right now and do something for me. There’s no time to explain the situation.”
The moment Kazuki told him what to do, Glacious made his move. Kazuki had given him a little bit of magical energy and with it, Glacious gripped at the air in front of him. The power of space folded and a small crack formed in front of him. The very next moment, a small object fell down in front of them. As soon as Kazuki saw it he recognized it from Zephris’s memories.
(The crown!)
Kazuki didn’t hesitate to raise a leg and stomp down with everything he had.
*CRACK*
This one stomp though wasn’t enough and simply left a few small cracks fissuring along it. Kazuki lifted his foot again but Glacious simply reached forward and pinched the crown between his two fingers.
*CHHH*
The crown shattered under Glacious’s overwhelming power.
(Even when he’s completely exhausted, his strength still outweighs mine by thousands of times.)
Fera and Torzz did not see this. However, what they did see, was that Kazuki was still alive. Fera knew she was running out of time.
“TORZZ! OPEN THE DOME!”
Torzz didn’t move right away. Were he to use his power on his brother, then there would be no way to go back.
“Torzz, my brother is healing Glacious and soon he will heal Etora as well. If they gain their strength back, I will not be able to take them out with these fake bodies. I must kill them now while they are still weakened!”
Torzz and Zetrazz exchanged a look.
“Big brother, don’t you dare. You interfere with my things, we will forever be enemies.”
“Zetrazz, that’s always been your problem. Entertainments always been more important to you than the nasty plague of mortals crawling all over the world and spreading their diseases and greed. In the end, we will never agree.”
Torzz gathered his power in an instant and slammed it into Zetrazz’s dome breaking it then and there.
The dome shattered soundlessly and all three of Fera’s fake bodies were in. The moment they stepped foot inside, all three did not go for each of them individually. Instead, Fera aimed her everything at A blind Etora. Attacking from three different angles, she pierced through his chest, back, and head. Etora had no time to react and died right there and then.
This was a complete shock to Glacious and Kazuki. Never did they expect Torzz to actually outright declare war with this move.
Fera then changed targets and appeared in front of Glacious and Kazuki in an instant. All three of her fake bodies attacked Kazuki. Kazuki was frozen in shock. Even if he wasn’t, Fera’s speed was far too great. This was not something he could avoid even if he were a hundred times faster. Kazuki felt his heart stop and his life flashed before his very eyes.
(This is it?)
Just as he thought this, Glacious moved in front of Kazuki and took all of her attacks head-on. Fera pierced Glacious twice through the chest and once through the head.
Pulling her hands from his body, she laughed.
“I knew you would try and protect him. Had I gone straight for you, you would have been on the defensive, but because I went after my stupid brother, you moved without thinking and took everything head-on. Fool.”
Fera looked at Kazuki. A sort of glee in her expression.
“Finally, no more games, no more waiting. It’s time you die.”
“YOU DARE!”
Zetrazz’s dark energy slammed down on top of Fera’s fake bodies destroying them in totality.
“To kill my rival, you really used underhanded means. FERA, IF YOU EVER STEP FOOT ON FEYA AGAIN, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE PEACE. ONLY INFINITE DARKNESS, MY DARKNESS!”
Torzz seeing the deed complete was now satisfied and disappeared.
Kazuki felt his heart ache at this moment.
“Glacious, Etora, no.”
*Cough hack cough*
Glacious coughed up several mouthfuls of blood. His eyes were bleary and dizzied.
“Glacious! Hang on, I’ll heal you right away.”
Kazuki immediately began injecting ki along with the element of gordonia into Glacious’s wounds.
Zetrazz saw this and became excited.
“I knew you weren’t dead just yet. It takes much more than that to kill someone who’s considered my rival.”
As Zetrazz was thrilled, Kazuki was not in the least. Even though he was doing everything in his power to heal Glacious, it wasn’t working.
“What’s going on, why why isn’t it working.”
“That’s probably my fault.”
“Glacious, it’s gonna be ok. I just need more time.”
Glacious shook his head.
“No, I’m at the end of the line. These scales, covering my body, they give me an incredible almost invincible defense but they also have a heavy draw. They drain away at my life force. The moment Fera gave me a fatal blow, my fate was sealed. These wounds, they cannot be healed.”
“No, that’s not true. You are Glacious the dragon slayer. How can my rival die from wounds like these? I refuse to believe it.”
“Dammit Zetrazz, even in my final moments will you not let me have an ounce of peace.”
Kazuki’s mind began to run at a million miles an hour as he tried to come up with something, anything he could to save Glacious.
“Glacious, I may not be able to save your body but I can save your soul and place it in a Golem. That might not sound great but it’s a solution for now.”
“No, I’ve lived in this world for far too long without my husband and now that I have the opportunity to go and be by his side, you would rob me of that.”
This was gut-wrenching to hear. Even though there was a different way he could be saved, Glacious was resigned to his fate.
“Is…Is there anything I can do for you?”
Glacious slowly touched his forehead and drew out a magic blood orb.
“I want you to take this and benefit from my knowledge. Use it to destroy your enemies and use it to protect Nunully and the everyone else important to you. Also, take care of my tiny world in the mountains. It would be such a waste for paradise to go unatte…
Glacious words fell short as he went limp in Kazuki’s arms, he was no more.
