Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 59
Following the flow of the energy circulating with the dome, with almost pinpoint accuracy, Danny was able to locate several tiny gaps on the surface of the dome.
(Yes!)
While Danny found a small win, the world inside the dome was becoming more and more dangerous. The sky constantly lit up with blinding light from Torzz’s, white blazing flames, followed immediately by Zetrazz’s pitch-black darkness. The air itself vibrated at a high frequency from their every movement, causing mini pockets of energy to form and condense into such an unforgiving state that they would explode with the slightest disturbance.
These condensed pockets of energy formed all throughout the dome and became similar to a minefield. Once one went off, the rest would follow. As the two brothers fought as if the world was ending, this minefield would be affected and would constantly explode outward in every direction. The moment the minefield was no more, the heavy energy from the two Titans above, like an apocalyptic rain, the energy above would grow too heavy and would fall down below. At some point, this energy would again condense and the minefield, within seconds would be reset.
This constant rain of explosions brought another layer of difficulty to Danny. He was already suffering greatly from interacting with the energy from the dome but he also dealt with the explosions. These did not affect his body as his body still resided within the Grand Hall in the base but instead what would happen was that his aura was constantly being destroyed again and again. One side from the dome and the other from the rapid unceasing explosions.
Both Torzz and Zetrazz knew that Danny was trying to do something but to the both of them who could destroy the world, Danny’s presence was insignificant and did not matter. They completely ignored him and continued their battle as though he did not exist.
(Being smothered from all sides as well as having my magic cut off and my aura and soul suppressed, they truly give two fucks. Even if they didn’t know I was here, it would not change the severity of the situation in the least. Still, to purposefully ignore me, and everyone else in the base when if they just stopped for 10-20 seconds at most and opened the dome, we could get everyone out and safely away. These DAMN Titan SCUM BASTARDS!)
Danny wasn’t one to usually get angry but seeing how they knew he was there and continued with no remorse whatsoever, knowing that if they did nothing he would die. If Danny had a real mouth, this would have left a foul aftertaste in it.
(Fine, I don’t need you pieces of shit. I’ve already learned a great deal from both of your energies. I’ll do this myself!)
Back inside the mountain base, the crashing pieces of the mountain rang out louder and clearer than ever.
*BOOOOOOOM!*
Danny kept his senses to this cut-off as he needed to maintain absolute focus. Still, even without his other senses, he knew what was happening. Calling upon his Magic core, he tried repeatedly to draw energy from it.
(In order to open the gaps in the wall of the dome, I require magic. With my soul suppressed though, even with my high focus, I can barely draw a drop of energy forward and that brings pain along with it.)
Danny’s mind recalled several techniques that he had watched Kazuki use many times. Since the two had also exchanged these memories and experiences through their souls, Danny could use them as well. Even if he didn’t gain these skills through Kauzki’s soul, Danny already learned one of them a while ago and the other two he was confident in figuring out himself. Though if he really did have to figure the other two out he wasn’t confident in doing it in this time crunch.
*BAM!*
A few small cracks appeared in the ceiling above everyone’s head.
Even though many people had already accepted the fact that they would die at any moment and had thrown away any and all fear, fear had a funny way of crawling up your leg and back into your mind and heart. Trembling was felt from the shaking room as well as from those around. A few people could no longer take it and screamed out like wild banshees.
*AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
One of these men ran over to the pile of treasures and grabbed a magic sword from the pile. Before anyone could figure out what he was trying to do the man turned the blade on himself and plunged it awkwardly into his chest.
Blood gushed from his wound and poured from his mouth as he spit up with a heavy cough. This cough though was his last as he fell over the very next moment and died.
King Brian quickly took control of the room before anyone else did something so drastic. Many though were no longer even listening and were shell shocked from what they had just witnessed.
At this time, Danny had changed his aura slightly. Using one of Kazuki’s techniques, he folded his aura several times over itself. One layer became two and then two became four and then eight. When he reached this level, he realized how burdensome it actually was to make these seemingly simple folds. After every fold, it did not simply require a bit more concentration, willpower, and energy but instead, the consumption was multiplied several times over.
(Kazuki folded his aura more than a hundred times. How can one man be so heaven-defying.)
Thinking about Kazuki started to bring Danny sadness and he quickly buried those thoughts into the back of his mind. Focusing on the task at hand, Danny tried to fold his aura once more but he couldn’t create a single layer more.
(This will have to do, otherwise…)
Stretching out his aura like a tentacle. It stopped at the edge of the dome. As the minefield of dense energy exploded all around Danny’s aura, he was surprised to see just how well it had endured.
(These extra layers really work.)
Three of his layers had been broken through entirely with the fourth slightly cracked. With a single thought, he quickly repaired all of the layers and went to the next step.
(The second technique he shared.)
The tentacle of aura split into two. Each one now only had four layers of aura. Before the minefield reset and exploded again, Danny had just managed to add two more layers to both tentacles.
*BANG BANG BOOOM BOOOOOM CRACK BANG*
Both tentacles were down to two and three layers respectively. As he had a few seconds before the reset, Danny quickly repaired the layers of aura before starting the third technique.
(It feels like it’s been forever since I last used this.)
The tentacles began to move and change shape in rapid succession. Danny quickly used the ancient hand symbols using his aura. Kazuki had taught Danny how to use the ancient hand symbols several months after they had already been in this world together. Later on when Kazuki developed aura and then learned many things from King Oren down in ape city, this technique to use the ancient language along with aura came much later on. The basis of which though came from King Oren’s lessons.
Of course, Danny was witness to all of this and might have figured this out for himself but he had no time for the difficult road. Besides, why go the long way, when a short path has already been laid before you. Using Kazuki’s memories and experiences, he added layers to his aura, then he split his aura into two and used his aura like actual hands and combined it with the ancient hand symbols.
Very rapidly the power of lightning and wind formed at the end of his two aura tentacles.
Calling out in his mind, he moved the two energies with a thought.
(Storm Tempest!)
The wind slashed in a seemingly unavoidable way and the lighting under Danny’s control joined around the wind forming a small cage of lightning. Danny quickly combined his aura into the cage of lightning and took full control of it. The cage of lightning, if one were to see it right now, would find it laughable as it was no bigger than 7 inches in diameter. From the outside, it looked like a small bit of static electricity was flowing in front of Danny.
To Danny though, this tiny cage of lightning was like a flame in a dark pitch-black cave. It was his beacon of hope. Besides, the size of it was created with a purpose. Controlling the tiny cage, He began to shrink it. At first, it was around 7 inches but that quickly became 5, then 2, 1. He shrank it smaller and smaller. It became the size of a pebble than a small pill. He still wasn’t done.
The size shrank further and further, it became no bigger than a drop of water and then a hair and then smaller and smaller and smaller. Eventually, the tiny cage of lightning could no longer even be seen and was now invisible to the naked eye, and with one more shrinking, finally Danny stopped.
(It’s ready!)
