Return of the Fallen Volume 9 Chapter 84
(My magic does nothing but the moment the explosions rang out, the blade slowed. It was only for a split second but with these eyes of mine, it was clear as day.)
Kazuki did not know why this slowed the blade but it was the only thing that worked. He could not use aura, nor did magic energy seem to affect it. The fact that it could cut through the toughest object he could make also showed how powerful it was. Where then was the weakness.
The same idea flooded Kazuki’s mind and he quickly gave it a try. Hundreds of fused fireballs materialized behind him. Fera watched from a distance curiously. For some reason, she had still yet to attack again and was letting her sword do it for her.
Kazuki could sense no magic gathering around her nor any imminent danger. Though there was an odd sensation coming from the ground but he chalked that up to Zetrazz and Torzz repairing and protecting the ground. With Fera not interfering at the moment, Kazuki found it to be the only opportunity to try and find the weak spot.
The moment the white black flames came into being, Kazuki did not send them flying toward the sword. Instead, he waited for the sword to pass by these fireballs before he willed them to explode all at the same time.
*Boom Kaboom Fwsshhh*
(Everything has a weakness. There is no such thing as unbreakable. The explosion my magic created was large but it only slowed the black sword for a fraction of a second.)
Kazuki didn’t even look back nor did he need to. He could sense everything around him and took note of the black blade. It has once again slowed but only for half a second this time. He had used all of those fireballs and it had only brought him half a second. Most would assume this to be a failure but in this half a second, Kazuki had learned something important.
(The vibrations rocked the blade from every direction but there was one place in particular where it was affected.)
The moment his fireballs exploded and the vibrations came from nearly every angle, the weakness of the blade revealed itself or rather it as the hilt that showed the biggest reaction.
(The hilt trembled chaotically the second the vibrations from my explosions hit it. That is the weak point. Now how to focus an attack big enough to fuck it up?)
While the gears in his mind were turning, Fera had also taken note of Kazuki’s attack. The two exchanged a look and Kazuki knew that Fera now knew he had found the blade’s weakness. It was obvious but still, Fera made no move. Whether it was straight-up cockiness and confidence or something entirely different, she seemed to not care. She just stood in the air, waiting, watching.
(Is she looking down on me, underestimating me, or does she truly believe that nothing can break this sword? Good, let me show you what a creative mind can come up with.)
As Kazuki continued to race through the skies, he quickly created large flat sheets of Orichalcum. Using his aura, he quickly carved certain inscriptions on them. Nothing spectacular nor grand. As he continued to fly, the flat pieces of god metal began to curve and the surface became smooth and hard. Very quickly he shaped a large sphere with a small opening at the end shaped like a cone.
The sphere was formed from hundreds of pieces of god metal and on each curved piece, there were small openings. Fera watched this strange construction with a dumbfounded expression.
(What is he trying to accomplish with that weird ball? It doesn’t matter. Only a few more minutes and this battle will be over.)
The strange construction was complete. Kazuki gathered the power of wind all around him before activating the inscriptions on the large sphere. The moment they lit up with silver light, the wind Kazuki had gathered rushed behind him and penetrated the small openings all across the surface of this hollowed-out sphere.
The god metal amplified his magic and wind traveled through the openings and created a high-pitched echo. This echoing sound was like a large piece of metal grinding apart. The pitch was already so loud and terrible that Kazuki and Fera were already affected by it. Not just them but even Zetrazz and Torzz not too far away could feel it.
Kazuki knew this wasn’t the end of it. In an instant, he controlled the flow of his ki and cut off his sense of hearing.
The very next moment, the echoing sound reverberated and finally came coursing through the cone-shaped opening on the other end of the sphere.
*SCRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!*
The power of sound came flooding forth like an endless ocean. As if two metal mountains collided at top speed, the sound was absolutely devastating. Kazuki who was behind it and did not take a direct hit, felt most of his inner organs turn into slush and then liquify. The surface of his skin bubbled and his eyes exploded there and then.
He could feel the blood starting to pour through his pores as veins popped left and right. His body was tough enough to now withstand a blow directly from a Titan but the power of this sound was on a different level. This sound was so forceful, so penetrative that it distorted the air and caused the combined power of Zetrazz and Torzz to temporarily disperse away from the ground.
They felt something inside of themselves tremble and they felt a good portion of their magic was pushed away, physically pushed away from their control. Neither of them had ever experienced such an attack and it took them several seconds to regain their composure.
The vibrations in the sound hit the blade full-on. The entire black sword, flying as fast as lightning, the moment this sound wave hit it, the blade froze in midair. Not only did it stop but from the point of the blade, all the way down to the hilt, the sword flexed and warped as though it was made from rubber. You could precisely see where the sound had struck it first as it moved like from rubber from one end to the other.
The moment the sound got to the hilt, a large crack appeared and spread. Like a spider’s web, the crack split into multiple fissures and entered the hilt’s depth. Larger and larger, wider and wider, these cracks spread like a plague until finally.
*Chht*
The hilt completely broke and fell away. The moment the hilt fell off like dust in the wind, the sword as well came crashing to the ground.
The moment he saw the blade fall uselessly out of the sky, Kazuki didn’t hesitate to turn around and fly directly toward Fera with his greatest speed. He knew that without a warning, the sound would devastate Fera who was completely unaware of what was to come.
Just like he thought, Fera was standing in the air still but both of her eyes were gone. Not just her eyes but she was bleeding all over her body. Eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and just like Kazuki, the veins beneath the surface of her skin had exploded, causing blood to seep through to the surface.
With nearly all of her senses destroyed like this, it would take several seconds for her body to completely recover from such an unexpected attack. Kazuki knew that she would be unprepared for this attack and knew it would be the perfect opportunity to attack. Destroying the sword and taking nearly all of Fera’s senses away, there was no better time.
Even though she could still sense him with her aura, it did not matter. Kazuki had held back his speed to some degree. Fera was faster than him when it came to just the physical side and magic side. Using both, she could move faster than lightning. Kazuki as well could move faster than lightning using his body and magic combined but he was a few hairs off from Fera’s speed.
This though was only true when it came to using magic and his physical strength. With the power of ki, along with aura strengthening, his speed seemed to go beyond what was capable in the lower realm. He held back for this exact moment.
His fist stretched outward and with it, the power of aura, magic, and ki fused together as one. With these three energies coming together, it was as if chaos itself had become a part of Kazuki’s fist. Kazuki’s body vanished and reappeared in front of Fera as if he had teleported. Extending his fist outward, Kazuki roared.
“TOUCH OF DEATH!”
The moment he threw out this devastating punch, A small smile cracked across Fera’s face. The very next instant, Kazuki’s fist was met with the unexpected.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*
“Heheheh, I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist trying to kill me.”
