ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 306: How Are Things With Saiga Rei Part 1

Sanraku: Ahh, umm, are you alright?

Saiga-0: I am so terribly sorry! Umm, this is, it looks like my VR system is not functioning properly, there was some sort of malfunction……

Sanraku: Yeah, that much I was able to tell myself.

Sanraku; But I mean, is it not kind of dangerous that way? Even if you were to send it for the necessary repairs, there is no way that you are going to make it before tomorrow.

Saiga-0: Yes, I am afraid it’s exactly as you’re saying……

Sanraku: I think that the problem may lie with the VR device’s output system. So you might want to back up your data on your mobile terminal, just in case data transfer will be necessary.

Sanraku: I will ask you this now, just in case: will you be able to buy a new VR system should this one turns out to be beyond saving?

Saiga-0: It’s not like I can’t go and buy the new one right now, but……

And since I have converted all of the data from my old head gear into the chair-type VR system, I have been rarely even taking out the old system. So it was only gathering up dust for the current moment. Normally we would just wait for Rei’s VR system to get back from the repairs, but the ship heading towards the new continent was departing tomorrow. And I absolutely had to be on board of that ship.

Rei said that she would be able to get on board without recommendation, but if she is unable to log in to do that, then it would all be for nothing. So the problem we were both facing here right now was quite severe.

That is exactly why I proposed to Rei that I would lend her the VR system that I had on me, and which I was no longer using.

And that is exactly why even though it was Saturday morning, and the mornings were nowadays quite chilly let me add, I woke up early and with a cardboard box in my hands I went towards Rei’s place in order to see her malfunctioning VR system.

Sanraku: And that is exactly why I can lend to you the VR system that I am not currently using. That way you will still be able to play until your own system comes back from the repairs.

Saiga-0: Are you really sure that’s okay?

Sanraku: Yeah, sure, it’s fine with me. I mean, it’s only sitting in the corner and gathers dust anyway, so why not? I’m not going to be using it anytime soon.

Sanraku: But is it okay with you, Saiga-san? I mean, it is something that a boy has been using for quite a while now. So you don’t need to agree to that if you don’t really want to.

Saiga-0: No problem here! I will take you up on your offer! By all means! So please don’t worry about it!

Saiga-0: So small thing like that is of no problem whatsoever!

Sanraku: S-Sure…… If you say so……

Sanraku: Then I nthat case, let’s meet at Rock Roll and……

Sanraku: Oh, we actually might now be able to do that. I’m pretty sure that “Imperial Avalon 3” hit the shelves yesterday. So this means that the shop is going to be closed for the weekend.

Saiga-0: Imperial…… Avalon……?

Sanraku: It’s a newest installment in the Imperial Avalon series, a famous otome game series. Iwamaki-san was really hyped up about it, so I think he is going to take at least two days off of work to enjoy it thoroughly.

Sanraku: Speaking of which, you live in the same school district as me, right, Saiga-san? So this means that you should live somewhere close by, right?

Sanraku: Then if you would like, I can bring my old VR system directly to your house.

Sanraku: While I am going to be at it, I might take a look at your VR system as well. Who knows? It might be some sort of a simple error, something that can be easily fixed without the need of sending it away for repairs.

Saiga-0: Are you sure about that? Sounds like you would need to put yourself through quite a bit of trouble just for something so insignificant……And I would hate it for you to go out of your way for my sake.

Sanraku: No need to worry about it. Physical fitness have nothing to do with your in-game performance when it comes to VR games, but proper exercise from time to time is something that never hurt anyone. So this actually works in my favor as well. Plus, I could certainly go for a little change of pace right about now.

Saiga-0: In that case, let me send you the address…… But I really think that I should be the one who should come over to visit you. But then, I should tidy up the place at least a little bit……

Sanraku: Let me repeat. Don’t worry about it. It’s fine, really.

Sanraku: Huh? What was that just now?

Saiga-0: It’s nothing. Nothing, really. Please, don’t worry about it.

Saiga-0: I wanted to write something different, but I guess that I must have pressed the auto-correct button by mistake, so it created that message completely at random. That’s why there is no need to worry about it. None whatsoever. I assure you!

Sanraku: Oh, oh well. It doesn’t really matter all that much. Don’t worry about it.

Sanraku: In that case, I’m going to wake up early and eat a quick breakfast. I will let you know when I will be on my way towards your place. Is that alright with you?

Saiga-0: Alright. I will be waiting for your message, then.

Since Sanraku was about to investigate Rei’s malfunctioning VR system, it was only natural for one of them to come over to the house of the other party.
