ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 370 Part 2

ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 370: Dragon King, the Black Dragon Part 2

Sanraku: Probably when the most of the small fries are defeated, the battle shifts into its second stage. It will cover the ground in red liquid which works as the extension of its body.

Katsu: Don’t use the VR System to implement shit like that! Who does that!? Even I would not think of something as twisted as that!

Sanraku: In the second phase, the limbs of the main body become duplicated and it also increases in size. It is unknown if it’s because Eldranza was its main body or if it is its overall characteristic, but it can also dive underground and emerge from below any spot on the arena where the red liquid managed to reach. So you need to watch out for that. Surprise attacks of that nature are especially nasty.

Sanraku: Again. I don’t know about the exact condition of shifting from the second to third phase here, but I would say that it is probable that you just need to hang on for a set amount of time and don’t let yourself be killed.

Sanraku: When the third form comes around, it will first bury itself into the ground, and perform a special action called “Resource Return”.

Sanraku: Oh, no, it’s not that. It’s called differently. It’s actually “Returnal”.

Sanraku: In the third form, all of the red liquid that was previously on the field returns to the main body in order to strengthen it. Also, when you engage the main body in close quarters, it is going to grow additional heads as a defensive mechanism.

Sanraku: What’s more, throughout the third phase, there are going to be blood crystals scattered all over the battle field. If you try to destroy them, additional monsters will come out of them, so you will have to kill them. But if you leave the crystals be, after a set amount of time they are going to break on their own, and the monsters will try to merge with the main body in order to strengthen and heal it. So leaving those crystal unattended is a bad idea.

Sanraku: In other words, the third form is going to be much like the first one, but it is entirely up to you just how big of a challenge this is going to become.

Mold: Wow, the speed at which Sanraku-san is typing is actually amazing in and out of itself……

Sanraku: Later, aside from being more aggressive than before, there will be a red tornado springing out of the boss’s back.

Sanraku: This tornado will shoot out the parts of the monsters that the main body managed to assimilate from the blood crystals in form of bullets.

Sanraku: During the first and second phases, the small fries used by the boss are chimeras combining parts of various monsters’ bodies, but in the third phase the only thing that gets shot at the players are the monster parts, which makes it a little bit difficult to respond to properly.

Katsu: So it will require some fast thinking and possessing a nice reaction time if we do not want to get utterly decimated.

Kyogoku: We could use the sounds as our cue, but I doubt that the battlefield is going to be so quiet as to let us do that.

Sanraku: It is also worthy of note that we do not know just how many possible monster or their parts the boss can create. Also, some of those parts possess enough firepower to turn the boss-level monster into a lump of charcoal with a single blow. So there’s that as well.

Sanraku: On the bright side, it is quite possible that in the third phase the boss inherits some of the physical properties of the monsters that constitutes its body, so it might actually have weaknesses that are the same as the ones that the small fires would have here.

Sanraku: Next bit of info might actually differ if the main body is going to be something else, but in case of the dragon, it had a weak point. It was a small orb that was hidden within its body. So you should focus on locating that and destroying it as fast as possible.

Akitsu Akane: Umm,

Sanraku: As I was saying, after the battle, there is going to be a sphere of blood left on the battlefield. If you plunge your hand inside of this sphere, you will be able to pull items out of it, since this is going to be your reward for clearing the battle.

Sanraku: As for what it will be…… You will have to see for yourself, since it is most likely generated completely at random.

Akitsu Akane: Umm ––

Sanraku: In conclusion, this battle is fairly different from the Unique Monsters battle we had so far. You need a large group of participants, and if you want to be able to play it safe here, I’d say that about thirty people at minimum is what you want to go for.

Sanraku: So? Satisfied? Satisfied, you pricks?

Pencil Warrior: Yeah, but why do I think that there are still things that you are not telling us?

Sanraku: Well then I suppose that you can take those things and stick it up you’re a……

Akitsu Akane: Umm! Guys! There is something I would like to consult with you all!

Sanraku: Consultation? What kind of consultation?

Akitsu Akane: Well, if I had to name it, I would say that it’s a rater major one.

Pencil Warrior: Hmm, as far as I know, those kind of raid battles only tend to grow increasingly more difficult as the time goes on.

Pencil Warrior: Ah, Akitsu Akane-chan! Come on! Don’t be shy! What seems to be the problem?

Akitsu Akane: Right! Actually, there is a group of people that I managed to befriend in ShanFro…… But technically speaking, they are the NPCs!

Akitsu Akane: But I have decided to help them in doing a little quest that they are undertaking!

Katsu: Unique Scenario, perhaps?

Sanraku: Akitsu Akane never fails to find a Unique Scenario when no one is looking! And they are always good ones!

Pencil Warrior: Are you sure that you’re the one who should talk like that here?

Katsu: But still, it’s awesome!

Rust: This conversation is like a train that just keeps on derailing itself more and more.

Akitsu Akane: Honestly speaking, I’m at my wits’ end! Would you be willing to help me with that? If we were to compare it to anything, it was almost like its counterpart form the Bugs Catcher series, but way less balanced.

Sanraku: B-But my…… My Kazagumo PresiDen……

Pencil Warrior: Huh! Imagine that! Sanraku always demands help from others, but when it is his turn to help someone, he is reluctant and is most probably going to refuse! That’s downright horrible!

Katsu: To think that you would refuse to help a fellow guild member when they are in need! Sanraku-kun, I didn’t know that you are so heartless and ruthless of a person!

Sanraku: You know what, fine! What the hell, I’ll do it!

Sanraku: I cannot promise you that I will devote my whole attention to this, but you can be sure that I am going to give it my best to assist you in whatever it is that you are doing!

Akitsu Akane: Wah, thank you so much!

Akitsu Akane: I’m so glad to hear it…… Because you know, I kind of expected that to happen, but I knew that I won’t be able to defeat Siegwurm on my own!

Sanraku: Huh?

Katsu: Hmm?

Pencil Warrior: Oh my!

Rust: Muh

Mold: Ehh?

Kyogoku: Say what now?

Saiga-0: Umm…… I have finally managed to catch up with everyone else, but what is it that you are talking about? And what I wanted to say, umm, the NPCs that I have become friends with……

Akitsu Akane: Yes!

Akitsu Akane: It’s a Unique Scenario called “Clash of Black and Dirty Gold”……

Akitsu Akane: And it actually revolves around helping out the Black Dragon, Noirlind-san in its conquest!

Sanraku: Fueeh……

Pencil Warrior: Fueeh……

Katsu: Fueeh……
