ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 411 Part 1

ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 411: Super Bizarre Mega Hunter Part 1

Yeah, just as I thought…… This thing is good for moving around, but surprisingly hard to use in battle against the regular monsters. Critical Speed – Bradion –, that is. I mean, it’s something that you should have expected, since you are reaching a speed that allows you to traverse the half of the continent in the blink of an eye. So it should come as no surprise that it might actually be useless against monsters at short skirmishes and distances.

Speaking of going really fast, there is this specific kind of bugs that are associated with moving around. For example, in one game if you were using fireworks to give yourself a boost in speed and elevation and you died as a result, you would always respawn not in the usual respawn point, but rather at the exact place where your corpse have landed. Then we had things like Interception Divine Punishment, but that thing did not managed to get so popular in Bakumatsu Online. Rather, the random human trap Meteor Devine Punishment became way more popular, for God knows what reasons.

「But as far as this particular area is concerned…… Hmm? Could that be it?」

Although Ray was certainly not a mapping enthusiast, in this particular case she made an exception and had a few of them to spare so that she could have the overall picture of this entire area. And although it was limited, I could narrow down the location to some extent by trying to locate the specific landmarks near the mapped Bugmen village.

「And because this is the desert area, those landmarks are going to stand out even more around here……!」

Double helix cactus? Could that be it? This thing really DOES look like a double helix intertwined with each other…… Actually, it looks really awkward when you get to have a closer look.

But thinking about it logically, this should mean that the village of the Bug People should be just around the corner, right? Rei says it’s an oasis surrounded by rocks…… Oh, so it should be impossible to find it easily if I were watching from above, huh? So, should I land for the time being and continue on foot?

Alright, here is goes: three, two, one…… Now, brace for impact!

「Oh my? What’s this? Why are you coming off the boat?」

「Shut up. Don’t ask, just…… Don’t ask.」

「Wild guess: Master must have died for some reason.」

「Shut up. Don’t say it!」

Alright! Time for a retake! This time I’m going to succeed for sure!

「Mhnph!!」

I don’t want to forget that feeling, just so that things may and up okay, I must not forget a humiliation I have felt in that moment.

By the way, the village of the Bug People should be just a stone’s throw away. Since Emul is currently in Rabbits, it is impossible to make contact with him. Just in case I asked him to keep tabs on the frontline base at least a few times a day, but…… Yeah, taking him with me through the forests and the desert might be too difficult for him to handle at the current moment.

But then, what should I do? Rely on Diale for teleportation? It seems that he is the master of Magic that Emul learned from, so it should only be natural that he should have mastered the spell “Teleportation”.

Except for the first event when I visited Rabbitz, the “Teleportation” spell can only transfer you to places that both the caster and their companion have visited. However, if both Diale and I know a common base such as Rabbitz, it is something that can greatly shortcut the return to Rabbitz and my reunion with Emul.

However, it is unreasonable to accept Rei’s good intentions and use Diale’s help without offering anything in return. So if I want to make use of his abilities, I first need to work to earn the right to do so.

I adjust my aim just a little bit there, and then I head over towards the formation that looked like a Dome of Rocks that was currently visible in the distance. Paying extra attention to my foothold, I land on the sand while making careful steps. Somehow, this rock formation reminded me of the empty elevated platform at Tier Platen, where the Altar of Awakening was located. The former location was naturally defended by trees and thick vines that formed a natural wall, a sort of a safe zone. But this place is naturally protected by the rocks and sand dunes, creating an illusion from the high altitude that nothing actually is there, the best defense mechanism that there could ever be. With that, the only sort of enemies they would have to worry about would be the ones that emerge from deep underground, and that is something that can be fairly limited.

However, the sky is no longer an unexplored territory! The passion of the Pioneers now managed to break through the sky, a previously unavailable territory……!!

「Kukukuku!!!!!! FUAHAHAHAHAHA……!!!!!! Found it! I finally found it! The village of the Bug People…… “Sunanoki”……!!!」

I guess that this mad laughter I was doing at the current moment was more than enough to make up for all the difficulties it took me to actually get in here. And laughing like that was making me feel really good at the current moment.

* * *

「Oh my?」

Why am I now being surrounded by humanoid insects that draw their weapons the first moment they saw me? No, wait, I swear to the Three Gods that I haven’t done anything bad or wrong…… yet! I, Sanraku, do not raise my bad karma values for both professional and residential reasons! I also don’t do anything that would result in my Vorpal Soul levels going exceptionally low or exceptionally high! It can be said that I enjoy engaging is some strong and questionable roleplaying from time to time, but that is about it! Surely it’s nothing wrong? And surely it’s not something that deserves for me to get surrounded by monster wielding so dangerously-looking weapons!

That is why I just casually stepped right inside of the Village of the Bug People as if I owned the place and proclaimed in a loud voice filled with confidence……

「You guys, I have no business with you. Rei…… I mean, bring Saiga-0 here!」

…… Yeah, something like that.

Now that I look around, there is this one guy amongst the Bug People that look exceptionally strong. And his weapon is a little bit different. Could he be the boss around here? It would not hurt to try and communicate, right?

「Im here. To see. My friend. Me not. Scary At. All. No need for. Weapons. At ease.」

「………… Ahh!」

It’s easy for someone dangerous-looking and intimidating to just go and say “Hey there! Let’s get along now!” However, I just can’t help it! When you see a situation like that, you just feel that urge to roleplay! So there is no harm in giving it a try, right?

「………… Hmm? What was that? What did you say there?」
