「Ehhh…… Egueeh…… Uuuhhh…… Ooohhh……」

There is a cry echoing throughout the cavesounding nothing like something that a beautiful girl would do, being more primal and animalistic than anything else.

「Umm, look, I’m terribly sorry for this…… Look, I had no idea that this Piece of Junk is going to take it this far……」

As a form of punishment I have imposed on the stupid Piece of Junk, I ordered it to start digging holes in the ground only to have it fill it back in with dirt over and over again. I mean, it was always talking about Intelligence and all that stuff, so some stupid manual labor should be more than fitting form of a punishment here, right? Perfectly humiliating.

「Jelly is scary…… Jelly is scary…… I’m not going to forgive it…… I’m not going to forgive it for as long as I live…… Of that you can be sure……」

「Umm, look, I know that this does not make it right, but would you like to eat some meat? Look, it’s so juicy and chewy?」

「Just…… Just let me sleep, please…… I need… some rest right about now……」

Umm, well, yeah, I…… I guess that it cannot be helped all that much here. Anyway, in the meantime, why don’t we install some furniture onto our boat? Since I have baught so much of it and all that stuff! Yeah!

I grabbed Emul by the neck and shook him strongly about a couple of times. Then I had a look around the reshaped cave once more while Emul staggered elsewhere. That should be more than enough to make him watch his manners for a while.

「But man, there are sure discrepancies at the civilizational level here, I won’t lie.」

「Oi, Piece of Junk, have you finished filling up the hole?」

「Affirmative Yes, Master.」

「Good. Now go and dig up another one.」

「Lamentation: At this rate, my precious Intelligence is going to be completely wasted……!」

Quite your whining and get to work! The process of leveling up requires a huge amount of work to be put into it! Mind work is not everything in this world, you know?

If you want to take part in the hardest of battles, you need toughness to be able to withstand them all. And toughness can be built by repeating the same mundane tasks over and over again. Those who cannot accomplish something as simple as that will never truly improve. Don’t let your heart break, just numb out the pain and power through it. If you don’t make a few compromises alongside the way to your goal, you will never become one of the very best fighters this world has to offer.

「However, be that as it may, I can see that your level has been going up quite nicely as of late……」

Level seventy nine, huh? For the content of the new continent this can be still considered to be quite garbage, but when we take a look at it from the Power Leveling perspective, this growth is quite exceptional if I do say so myself. At least this should be way more efficient here than repeatedly knocking off some scorpions off a freaking cliff.

「So, what kind of method you decided on?」

「Answer: for the past while I have been deliberately guiding the vast amount of male Armillet Gargantuas into this cave, defeating them one by one since the narrowness of the passage does not allow them to utilize their numbers properly. They can only go one at a time through here, Master.」

Ah, I see. It makes sense. I mean, I was wondering why was the passage widened and was made higher just a little bit there. So that’s the reason.

「Then I collected the jelly material from them, forced Wimp to ingest all of it, start the battle again, force her to ingest it again and so on and so forth, over and over again……」

「I…… I see?」

That strategy was certainly self-sufficient. It was also certainly effective. But with all of that being said, it also seems kind of bad. Oh well, if I don’t see it for myself, I will never know. So let’s do just that.

「Alright! Bring it on, you bastards! I’ll take you all head on!!!」

So I assume the position in the middle of the tunnel and start slashing away at the incoming Armillet Gargantuas. And because they come in a nice line one after another, there is no end of fresh targets that are fairly easy to dispatch…… And then there is a huge explosion at the very back of the line, coming all the way to the front like a chain reaction……

「Whoa there, that’s a little bit……」

Even though you may dispose of the monsters as fast as you possibly can, the backline is always going to get pretty much clogged at this rate. So, does that mean that a chain explosion like that is always going to occur here……?

「Gubeah!?」

I kick one of the spiders and cause it to bounce backwards and crush into the spiders that were waiting in line behind it. And needless to say, the explosion that resulted from that was strong enough to blow me away and send me flying backwards……

「………」

I crawl out of the boat in complete and utter silence.

「Affirmation: Armillet Gargantua’s self-destruction behavior can be chained like that. Once they have all self-destructed, Master is going to have a rather cool time…… That being said, do you wish to continue, Master?」

「You call this thing cool!? You bastard!?」

Come on, you stupid spiders! By the way…… no matter if you are a spider, a centipede, a scorpion or anything else in between! As long as you come from this place, I’m going to kill you all and turn you into a nice pile of materials!

Even if people are forced to walk all day without a break, as long as their hearts are not discouraged, it won’t be considered a hindrance or an obstacle. However, if people’s hearts are discouraged and thrown into despair, walking for even a hundred meters is going to feel like nothing more but a hindrance and a drag.

It can be said that walking through life follow the same basic principle. No matter what sort of obstacle one encounters throughout the journey called life, it is always possible to overcome them with a bright and cheerful heart.

It’s amazing when Takeda-san talked about this with a tone filled with confidence like that! At least that’s what I thought, but when I tried to remember those words and feeling associated with them later, the only thing I managed to bring up was the feeling that those lines might have been a little bit cringey at best.

In other words, it’s better to have fun doing all the work, though it’s more efficient to put your mind in a suspended state while you are being at it.
