ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 430: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 7 Part 1
「Talk about being muscular and basically immovable…… With an army of Tanks like that, Massive Dynamite does not have to worry about being targeted or suffering damage anytime soon.」
「Oh my, if it isn’t Pencil-san! Good morning!」
「Umm, is your head alright, Argent Owl-chan-san? You look as though something have bitten off a huge portion of it.」
「Oh, this? Please, don’t worry about it! This is nothing! I just need to power through the pain. After all, Power is Justice!」
Saying that, Argent Owl has torn off a small white dragon that was clinging to her body with nothing more but the strength of her grip alone and slammed the monster against the ground with a loud and wet sound. She then stomped all over it just to make sure that the monster was dead. Needless to say, Argent Owl’s head was covered in almost ungodly amount of red damage effects, but it all started to disappear when the green light of Health Regen was kicked into effect.
Pencilgton was looking at this spectacle with her eyes wide open, but soon enough she regained her composure and started to give instructions to the warriors standing right behind her with previously taught hand signs. It was a troublesome form of communication, but in situations like that it was really handy.
「…… So? I have been wondering about that for a while now, but what are those things behind your back? Because I can pretty much tell that those things are not the Players.」
「Fufufu…… I’m so glad that you asked! I have been waiting for someone to actually ask me that! So, be sure to look closely, because from now on you are going to see something really fun and interesting……!」
With a wide smile on her face, Pencilgton turns around and addressed a command to her squad of warriors in a sharp tone that would suffer no opposition:
「Attention! Mandy’s Heavy Infantry Corps! Ready your weapons!!!」
「「「YAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!」」」
「Oh wow.」
The warriors, who had been silent until just now, suddenly screamed out loud in a way that was by no means human, no matter how you look at it.
It was as if that command was a signal that they have been all waiting for. There were both stems and leaves started to sprout out from the inside their helmet. Then, the fourteen warriors…… Power Type Human Mandragoras armed with the weapons and armor that the blacksmith Imron has made for them, drew their weapons and assumed a battle-ready position.

In addition to the Heavy Infantry Corps, there were also a relatively slender Human Mandragoras here with both bows and arrows in their hands. Human Mandragora is a system that the players can customize as they see fit, just like the Conquista Doll. However, unlike the Conquista Doll, which can only be contracted to one given person at a time, Human Mandragora has no such restrictions.
Therefore, it is possible to take a whole squad of Human Mandragoras and go around with them until the maximum number of participants in one party is reached. And incidentally enough, the maximum number of people per one party in this game is fifteen.
However, it’s not all roses and sunshine. There are of course disadvantages to that specific system as well.
Basically, Mandragoras have a finate lifespan that is exactly seven days. After seven days have passed, Human Mandragora becomes an item called “(Named) Dormant Bulb”. And although the memory of the character is inherited in this exact bulb, its level, its status, and its experience value up to that point are all reset.
And for the bulb to return to the Human Mandragora state, the services of a skilled “Farmer” are once again required.
「And you see, since the occasion was huge this time around, I asked this here Super Farmer to produce a whole lot of those things for me and diverse them a bit. You know, to go all out just for the all-out event like this one.」
「It surely was not an easy request to meet, but I worked extra hard for this one and ended up managing to deliver just the product that my client wanted.」
Said the Super Farmer, and Pencilgton continued after a brief moment of pause, walking forward and passing the Super Farmer by, flashing him some fine ahegao with a double peace sign for all of his hard work and efforts.
「Oh believe me, leveling those guys up was a real bitch, but after overcoming that problem and finding an efficient way to do it, we have managed to pump all of those guys up to level ninety nine no problem! And now the time has come to show the world the power of our little babies!」
「「「YAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!」」」
But in the next moment, the Green Dragon Brockentreed slammed its limbs against the ground, crushing the soil underneath them and sending huge chunks of it flying in every direction like oversized projectiles. Needless to say, a couple of Human Mandragoras were hit by those projectiles and were sent flying because of the impact as well.
「M-Mandy Number Six! Noooo!!! And Mandy Number Eleven! Uuuaaahhh!!! You fucking bastard! That’s it! You wanna fight, a fight you shall get, you fucking asshole!!! I am going to fucking kill you for that! Everyone! Change of plans! Aim for that motherfucking Green Dragon! Make it regret hurting my precious babies like that!!!」
「And what about the original plan!? And where exactly do we have to aim!? It’s head!? Or maybe those strange thorns!?」
「No, no, no! No matter how you look at it, those weird tentacles are the most suspicious here! I am sure that they must be some sort of mechanism that supplies Brockentreed with energy! They must be the thing that sucks out the mana from the ground! It seems that they will regrow or heal over time when you cut or attack them, but that’s not important right now! Let’s approach this with a clear strategy in our heads! Everyone, you pitch in on that attack as well! With me, Zenith Guevara and Super Farmer we should have more than enough firepower under our belts! Let’s act our attacks in stages! This way we won’t leave it that much of an opening for a counterattack!」
