ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 433: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 10 Part 1

The Black Dragon Noirlind and the Golden Dragon Siegwurm were flying in the sky at a speed that was tearing the atmosphere apart, clashing with one another mercilessly.

The Golden Dragon was the one who was chasing after Noirlind here, and the Black Dragon was the one who was desperately trying to put some distance in between them. Noirlind was aware of the fact that if he was to stop even for a moment here, he would receive another one of those Siegwurm sucker punches and that it would end up in him falling out of the sky, maybe even for good. However, it was a matter of pride for Noirlind to stay in tha air. And pride is something that not only those who are at power can possess.

「Umm, excuse me, Noirlind-san! Do you think that you could actually slow down a little bit!? Slow down and try to get behind Siegwurm-san! I think I might have an idea here!」

「DON’T YOU DARE THINKING THAT YOU CAN GO AND ORDER ME AROUND, HUMAN! BESIDES! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH HER FORM THE VERY BEGINNING!」

At that moment Noirlind makes a somersault at full speed, evading chasing Siegwurm and getting right behind its back. They were in that position only for a moment, but without missing that opportunity, Akitsu Akane threw his shuriken at Siegwurm and Noirlind let out another portion of his Black Dragon Breath.

「SOMETHING LIKE THIS WON’T WORK ON ME!」

「YOU BASTARD……!」

「No, Noirlind-san! Look! I think that our attacks may not be working, but only when Siegwurm-san’s horns are shining! See? My physical attack went through without much of an issue!」

「IF IT IS INDEED SO, THEN HOW ABOUT THIS!? I WILL KNOCK YOU DOWN MYSELF IF I HAVE TO!!!」

As it was going to turn out, Akitsu Akane’s view is the correct one here. One of Siegwurm’s special actions, “Shining Dragon King – Tupac-Amal –,” is a strengthening skill that makes Siegwurm resistant to all kinds of attacks for as long as his horns are shining brightly.

That bright shine is actually like a gown made out of highly concentrated magic particles. And wearing that gown makes it possible to weaken the influence or even block altogether the outside influence of any kind of magic attack that may be coming Siegwurm’s way. However, this special action also possesses one critical flaw……Golden fighting spirit has no effect on physical attacks.

There is also a whole another reason as to why Siegwurm’s body does not require additional physical reinforcement, but for now…… At least, for now both Niorlind and Akitsu Akane managed to obtain an important clue: if they were ever hoping to bring Siegwurm down, then physical attacks are a way to go here!

「OH WICKED NOIRLIND, IT SEEMS THAT I HAVE TO TEACH YOU THE VERY BASICS OF FIGHTING…… YOU SEE, CLAWS AND FANGS ARE NOT THE ONLY THINGS THAT YOU CAN USE! YOU ALSO NEED TO UTILIZE YOUR LIMBS AND FISTS PROPERLY!!!」

「WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU, GUUUOOOHHH!?」

When it comes to their very nature, Noirlind is the kind of carnivorous dragon who get about on four limbs. Compared to that, Siegwurm is a bidepal dragon who is way more of a humanoid than the actual monster.

And it was in this moment that Siegwurm used both of his hands to grab Noirlind by his neck, swirling around with him for a couple times before eventually letting of of th Black Dragon and throwing it with all of his might.

「GUUUOOOHHH!?!?!?」

「Wawawawawa…… I knew it would come in handy someday! Secret Art: “Flying Squirrel!!!”」

Akitsu Akane was violently in the air just now. But fortunately enough he was able to reduce the impact and the speed of his fall by spreading the cloth that seemed to be almost parachute—like from under his arms, thus managing to safely land on the ground with not too bad of a harm coming his way.

「Fugyuh!?」

However, even though it was not too bad, it does not mean that it was also zero. Even though Akitsu Akane managed to land on the ground, the fall actually managed to take out a good portion of his HP bar, amounting to almost fifty percent.

「Noirlind-san!? Are you alright!?」

「GUH…… NUUUOOOHHH……」

Noirlind, who was thrown with ease like an amateur martial artist clashing with a seasoned veteran, came crushing down towards the ground. He let out a loud moan filled with pain, upon hearing which Akitsu Akane rushed to his side. It seems that the Black Dragon really left that particular attack.

「…… Hey, so…… What are we supposed to do?」

「I don’t really think that we are going to be able to beat it completely…… But for the time being, should we just try to scrape some of its HP off? You know, bit by bit?」

「No, I mean, wouldn’t that actually put us right on top of Siegwurm’s aggro? Or something else equally as bad as this?」

「I mean, beating the everlasting shit out of it is bound to feel good, you know? But no matter what, it would never be nearly enough to make it pay for destroying the frontline base in the first place.」

At that exact moment, the attention of all the present players turned towards Noirlind.

As it stands out, Noirlind is already pretty much notorious amongst all of the player base because of his previous attack on the frontline base, the one which ended in him basically razing the entire place to the ground. And as luck would have it, the one responsible for that great tragedy was vulnerable to attacks right here right now, unable to defend himself. So even if it was not a condition for clearing the Unique Scenario EX, it was a given that the players would want to risk taking Noirlind down. If not for the quest, it would be for the sole sake of seeking vengeance for the crimes that the Black Dragon has committed.

Up until now, the only reason why the Black Dragon was not being targeted by the players across the battlefield was simply because he was staying outside of the players’ attack range all the time. But right now, when it was finally brought down and it was vulnerable for attacks, it can be said that the players shifting their focus and concentrating everything they have on wiping Noirlind out was the only logical conclusion and course of action that could be taken here at this very moment.

「Whoa there! W-Wait! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! Wait just a moment here, please!!!」

At that time, the players surrounding Noirlind grapsed their weapons and strengthened their resolve, focusing on the task that was laying in front of them. It certainly would not be easy, but they had to do it.

But it was then that the two “individuals” managed to put a stop to this inevitable lynch that the players were about to carry out on Noirlind.
