ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 434: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 11 Part 1
The moment after the two attacks managed to clash with one another and ultimately canceled each other out.
The Golden Dragon Siegwurm goes a little bit forward before slowing down and turning its golden body on the spot. Even though it was the simple action of coming to a stop in mid-air after losing his speed, judging by the fact who was doing that made it increasingly more spectacular to watch.
As for Sanraku, he brandished his greatsword once more before eventually separating it into two distinct swords. Then he swung the “Kinshou” down while “Meiki” was waiting lowered towards the ground, awaiting its opportunity to strike.
「–––––– NOW I MUST SAY, I AM GENUINELY QUITE SURPRISED HERE WITH HOW THINGS TURNED OUT.」
Even though the Dragon Disaster War was being waged in full swing in here at the current moment, the battlefield in its entirety fell surprisingly silent. But now, only the voice of Siegwurm could be heard, brimming with shock and surprise.
「MY “MADNESS AREA – JAZZY ZONE –“ IS AN AREA OF EFFECT SKILL THAT IS MEANT TO UPSET THE MANA BALANCE INSIDE OF THE BODIES OF EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING THAT IS CAUGHT IN IN, ULTIMATELY RESULTING IN DEATH. BUT YOU…… TRULY FASCINATING……! YOUR EYES REMAINED FOCUSED! YOUR LEGS WERE TREMBLING, BUT STILL…… YOU MANAGED TO SLASH ME……! ME, OF ALL POSSIBLE CREATURES……!!!」
「…… Oh shit, I thought that it might be something alongside those lines, but…… I honestly thought I would be able to negate its effect or at least weaken it to some extent. I guess it won’t be that easy, huh……!」
In the next moment, the left side of Sanraku’s face exploded in a fountain of red pixels, followed up by the right side of his body all the way towards the right hip. At the same time, Siegwurm’s body shook and swayed, the left side of his body being covered in bright red damage effects and his left wing bursting almost to the point where it looked about ready to fall off.
「WHAT AN ASTOUNDING AMOUNT OF DESTRUCTIVE POWER! AND I WAS ALMOST UNABLE TO PERCIEVE IT!!! WHAT IS THIS……!?」
「This is the power… of going completely all-out…… all at once……!!」
Even though Sanraku’s body was turning into a bloody mess and he was having trouble holding his swords in his hands, he was still laughing. Same with Seigwurm: the felf side of his body was beginning to be covered in crystals, but he still managed to stand his ground and not fall down.
Sanraku was laughing because he was happy to have survived that attack, and Siegwurm was starting to feel overjoyed that there was finally someone who was able to inflict an injury like that on him after so long.
「MY GRAVITATIONAL SPHEARE SHALL SING PRAISES TO YOU, OH BRAVE HERO! OH BRAVE SANRAKU, WARRIOR MARKED BY THE WOLF! THOSE WORDS OF PRAISES SHALL BE RECORDED AND PRESERVED FOR POSTERITY, NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN!」
「So in a sense, even when your HP reaches zero, you would never truly “die” die, huh……?」
Sanraku says that while staggering, and eventually he falls down onto his knees. Then he looked at something with the only eye that was left intact for him, the other one being a bloody mess of torn flesh and gushing damage effects, creating a rather grizzly visial effect here. Then…… Then Sanraku pointed his finger at something. Or rather, he pointed his finger at someone.
Behind Siegwurm’s back, at the place that Sanraku was pointing at, there was the Black Dragon Noirlind. He managed to regain its composure and took off into the sky once more, with Akitsu Akane riding along with him on his back.
「–––––– Besides, I’m not the real Protagonist in here. Those guys are. You’d do well not to forget about that fact……」
「YES! THAT’S IT! WONDERFUL JOB! SPLENDIDLY DONE!」
It lasts for a few more moments, but eventually the red damage effects gushing out of Sanraku’s body slow down and eventually come to a stop. Feeling weak, Sanraku could feel his consciousness gradually leaving his body as it was about to fall over and hit the ground. But just before he could even feel the impact of hitting the ground, his whole body shattered to pieces in a myriad of white polygons.
「OOOH, PITIFUL HUMANS! AND PIONEERS, ALIKE! I COMMAND YOU FOR SHINING SO BRIGHLY HERE! I COMMAND YOU FOR TRYING TO OPPOSSE ME LIKE THAT! BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU< EVERYONE ELSE? COME ON, STAND UP! STAND UP AND SHOW ME JUST HOW BRILLIANT YOU CAN TRULY BE! BECAUSE IF YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO STAND YOUR GROND HERE AND OVERCOME ME, THEN HOW DO YOU EVEN WISH TO OPPOSE THE LIGHT OF ORIGIN THAT IS ABOUT TO AKAKEN ONCE MORE!?」
There was no one else. No one else here would be mad enough to try and go challenge Siegwurm one on one right now, not after witnessing what he is capable of in actual serious combat. Seeing the might of the Golden Dragon King, all other players were struck with fear and were unable to move even an inch. After all, how can they possibly hope to defeat a monster who is capable of nullifying the magic attacks that are being cast his way, but also invalidating the effects of the players’ skills? For the Vst majority of the players, it was actually a wall that would certainly be way too tall to overcome at this very moment.
That being said, there are those amongst the players who still believe that the victory would be possible here. However, it is a victory that would have to be achieved as a joined effort, not a solo fight. As far as one on one duels are concerned, no one in here believes that they would be able to show Siegwurm “even more” then that lone player just now was able to accomplish.
「…… VERY WELL, THEN. HAVE IT YOUR WAY. I SHALL WAIT.」
Seeing that none of the players who were left here was going to step up and go to challenge him, Siegwurm apparently lost the last shreds of interest he had in the players and turned away to go away. Siegwurm already had another target in mind. Looking at both Noirlind and Akitsu Akane who were already in the air, the Golden Dragon King smiled in a ferocious way.
「IN THAT CASE, I HAVE A DIFFERENT MATTER TO ATTEND TO. MAYBE THOSE TWO WILL FINALLY BE ABLE TO SHOW ME THE BRILLIANCE OF THE HERO THAT I HAVE BEEN LONGING FOR FOR SO LONG……」
Saying that, the crystals that were eating away at the left side of Siegwurm’s body shatter with a loud cracking sound, revealing a new layer of golden scales and skin that was underneath. It looked as though the damage that Sanraku managed to inflict was no completely negated and healed.
With this alone, the battle between the Black Dragon and the Golden Dragon King could resume once more.

The results of this quick showdown were not all that cost-effective as one might have hoped for, but they were still within the range of what could basically be classified as “acceptable”.
「…… Alright, it’s time to continue this thing.」
