ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 438: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 15 Part 1
「Alright! For the time being let us do this! I want to try something out and have a chance of hitting that thing at least once! Then we should know what we are dealing with here!」
「While you are being at it, try to make it as flashy and obvious as you possibly can. Maybe we will be able to find Rust that way. Or at the very least I hope so.」
「Alright, I get it. But what about you? Are you going? Or are you waiting for them to come to you?」
「I won’t lie here, it would certainly be helpful if you would decide to come along with us. The more the merrier, right? Or rather, the more the greater firepower.」
The process of exchanging information in between ourselves took no longer than five seconds. And once that was all but done, Katsu rushed out of the siege net of the small white dragons, following after Sigma wearing the “Raging Waterfall” set and making a hole in the enemy’s lines with her assault lance.
「Umm, if I do remember things correctly, those two should have stumbled across a flag event related to the Demon Dragon Blood or something else like that, right……?」
And then we have the Demon Lord Pencilgton going against the Green Dragon Brockentreed for reasons only known to her…… But I guess that she is only pretending to be helpful the players around here…… Pencilgton would not be her if she was not carrying some sort of a hidden agenda of her own. That’s just how she is.
As for the seeds that were carefully planted by the Demon Lord herself, those were finally about to start growing at a rapid pace and bear fruit as well. As for Katsu, he was helping out in carrying those seeds and forwarding the plan maybe even without knowing about it, but that’s not the issue here right now. Because right now we could finally push forward our own plan. Finally, after having it postponed for so long, now it was about ready to switch into its next phase.
「Hey, but what if we actually fail in finding them? What are we going to do then? This situation is obviously way more than we can handle on our own.」
I mean, just how many people do you think are there at the current moment? Normally that number would not have been so great, but right now the frontline base has changed into a literal warzone! We can go through the battle field in hope of actually stumbling on the people that we are looking for, but I would say that under the current circumstance we would have bigger chances of finding Rust and Mold by picking up a stone and throwing it into the crowd, hoping that one of the two (preferably Mold) would get hit to the head with it……
「No, but if they are not sticking close to those afflicted with the Demon Dragon Blood…… Then where the hell could they be……?」
I think about it for a moment, but nothing was really able to come to my mind. Then it occurs to me: at the current moment the only thing we can do here is to simply ask other players if they did not notice players or NPCs like that. It might be a wasted effort, or we might learn something important. You never know……
「NGUUOOOHHH!? YOU LITTLE SHIT! SOMEONE LIKE ME…… SOMEONE LIKE ME CANNOT SIMPLY DIE IN A PLACE LIKE THIS……!!!」
「Umm……」
There was an oddly-shaped red dragon that was spewing flames and red damage effects from all over its body that was coming this way. And even though it was chased by the players and there was nothing intimidating about it any longer, it was still trying to pretend that it was strong and mighty, even though it was not.
「Whaaaaaa!?!?」
「WHAAAAAA!?!?」
Seeing this, Katsu jumps to the side with all of his might, letting out a loud scream roughly at the same time as the White Dragon did.
However, the giant Red Dragon Red Howl who rushed right into the White Dragon, could not possibly hope to be able to react in such a swift and agile way. The two dragons basically rammed into one another, rolled over the field while trampling over a number of small white dragons. Needless to say, even though the White Dragon was knocked off balance, it was still producing the small white dragons from its body without a moment’s rest.
「T-THAT’S RIGHT! I AM NOT THE ONE WHO IS GOING TO BE DEAD HERE!!! YOU INSCETS ARE GOING TO DROP DEAD AND DIE INSTEAD!!!」
「YOU…… WHY YOU LITTLE……!!!」
Apparently, when the Red Dragon Red Howl got cornered by the players it decided to make a run from them, trying to push the players’ aggression all towards the White Dragon and save itself from a certain death that way.
And surely, turning towards the two Dragons you could clearly see that the Red one was hiding behind the White one, most probably intending to use it as a shield if the things were to go south even more.
「Ah, Katsu-san! It’s you!」
「Oh, Saiga-0-san? Ahh, now I see it……」
When Katsu turned around, he immediately understood why the Red Dragon was running away as if its life depended on it. Seeing the person chasing after it, it was becoming way too obvious.
As per usual, Saiga-0 was wearing a set of heavy armor and a big sword to come along with it. And as per usual, there was an aura of danger and power oozing out her entire avatar. But she was not the only one to be giving chase after the Red Dragon. There were other members of “Black Sword” chasing after the Red Dragon, some of them wearing armors and brandishing weapons that were making them look more like humanoid monster more than human players. In addition to that, a number of players wearing the equipment varying in looks and levels was following closely after them, most probably being the original players who were fighting against the Red Dragon and did not wanted to let it escape from them that easily.
(Why do I get the feeling that the Red Dragon is the one who is getting bullied by the players the most here? The White one is still going strong, the Green one is being delayed by Pencilgton’s actions…… Does that mean that the Red Dragon is going to be the first one to fall on this battlefield?)
No, even though the idea like that was present in Katsu’s head for a while, he quickly dismissed such possibility.
It was still too early to write the Red Dragon off as being defeated. Yes, it was the one that was focusing the most of players’ aggro for the time being, but that’s about it. When it comes to battles like that, there are a whole lot more of issues and factors that one needs to consider at all times. And that is to say without taking into account those factors that constantly change and cannot be measured normally.
「Not to mention the castle buffs…… Talk about troublesome.」
