ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 462 Part 1
ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 462: Dragon, Oh Dragon! PART 39 Part 1
* * *
Normally, no Binding Skill is going to be good enough to beat any monster that is exceptionally powerful. However, this battle here is not a solo battle of player versus monster, but a raid battle of one monster versus many players. And that changes the perspective entirely.
Not to mention the fact that during raid battles it is exceptionally hard to pinpoint where the enemy might be looking at exactly, since the aggro during this type of battles tends to be all over the place. And Siegwurm turned out to be the perfect example of that.
「Let’s see, the Moon is currently…… Alright, with things like that, I should be able to keep on going for a little while longer……」
The Armor of the Golden Crystal Scorpion, the Exile’s Cross that I’m wearing right now possesses a certain peculiar function: each piece of this set can passively collect the moonlight particles when being exposed to them, converting them into MP. Pretty neat function to have.
When it comes to my Lapistella’s Star Cloak, it has the ability to store the accumulated MP in its jewels, but only in the form of a specific spell. But when it comes to the Exile’s Cross there is no such rule that binds me down, so I am more than allowed to spend this MP however I feel like it. This in turn means that I can use it all in order to power up the Hundred-Legged Centipede Eight Zero Point Five Thousand.
And as long as I am being continuously exposed to the moonlight, I can compensate for any lack of MP even in the middle of the fierce battle. It is precisely because of that very reason why someone like me, who has less than a hundred MP on my avatar, could continue to operate the Hundred-Legged Centipede Eight Zero Point Five Thousand for so long without having to do anything about my MP.
「Holy shit, this is way harder than I initially expected…… Hey, Saiga Older Sister! What about the other clones!? How does it look on your end!?」
「Their attack power seems to be on par with the main body, or even slightly weaker, but it’s the time that works against us here…… We don’t have enough manpower here! And even if those who went to resupply return onto the battlefield, I think that it still might not be nearly enough!」
「Yeah, go figure……! As I expected, forcing the players to fight all of the Colored Dragons at once is a design flaw, and a pretty huge and terrible one at that!」
Damn you, Amachi Ritsu! Damn you to hell!! What the fuck are you trying to pull off in here!? Are you trying your best to turn ShangriLa Frontier into a shitty game as well!? Is that your deal here, huh!?
But I’m not going to let that happen! At least not so easily! But even if it was to become a shitty game, I’m still going to support it! Sure, it might be hard to see a godly game that you have grown so attached to go down the drain like that, but I won’t let that fact stop me from continuing to enjoy it! That being said, we are going to win this thing……!
As if agreeing with that newly found determination of mine, there is a bright ray of light flying through the night sky and hitting Siegwurm straight to the head. Or, to be more exact, that shot managed to hit Siegwurm’s horn perfectly, with no place for error. So far, there were three shots like that that were fired here.
「NUGUH!!! NOT THIS AGAIN……!?」
「…… I know that I might be stating the obvious here, but that thing’s hit rate is something else, indeed.」
「I mean, it would be ideal if we had a jungle here to give us some cover, but even without that I can still do this much and be done with it just fine……」
Of course, if someone was able to score headshot after headshot with a rusty old musket in the middle of the jungle, then it is by no means a surprise that he would be able to be any less accurate here. I mean, with a weapon that looks as though it could have been installed in a freaking battleship, it’s the least you could expect from a guy like him……

「Hmm, I think it might be a good idea to stop aiming at the same spot now, or else the dragon might catch wind of my actions…… So how about changing the angle slightly? About forty points or so?」
CLICK! CLICK! CLICK! After confirming the creation of the new “arrow” in the gun, Yashiro Bird leans back in the gunner’s seat and carefully takes aim with a targeting panel with a red dot in the middle of it. Aiming this thing was actually quite easy and intuitive, but he had to be wary of the Golden Dragon King rampaging in the distance at all times, so a little bit of a variety was in order here.
「But really now…… This is a really solid ship, this Brynhildr Baskerville of yours. It’s name might be a little bit of a mouthful to pronounce, but to have a ballista as a main weapon? Sign me up!」
Of course, the ship and its artillery that Yashiro Bird is talking about is Brynhildr Baskerville, a Conquesting Ship that was primarily designed to be used on the open bodies of water. In fact, the Conquesting Ship primary weapons and designs support the theory that it might be more suited for close quarters combat, with “bladed wings” for paddles and iron-reinforced battering rams at the front. However, even with all that heavy weaponry this ship is also installed with long range combat armaments, such as the ballista Yashiro Bird was sitting in right now.
The ballista happens to be located exactly at the center of the ship’s deck, most probably for the ease of moving it around and aiming carefully without being obstructed by anything else. But truth to be told, it was only thanks to Sanraku’s design choice and the materials that were used in the ship’s creation, paid in enough Lapistella Star Crystal to allow oneself to buy a small city with it. Additionally, some upgrades had been made to the ballista itself, increasing its maneuverability, precision of aiming, and adding energy injectors for increased firepower.
–––––– As for the name of this weapon, its official designation is: Type Six Magical Gun Ballista –Shachihoko Reaperorca –.
This ballista is a high—power magic artillery gun for ships that can be classified as either battleships or even aircraft carriers. It forms its arrows thanks to the focused magic power particles from Lapistella Star Crystals that constitute its core and then it ejects those projectiles with a tremendous amount of both raw power and momentum.
…… As a side note, the name “Shachihoko” is something that Sanraku has personally come up with, and it was supposed to be some sort of homage to the creator of this ballista.
