「VICTORY CONDITION #2: FORCE THE COMMANDER OF THE ENEMY STRONGHOLD TO SURRENDER.」

「VICTORY CONDITION #3: DEFEAT THE COMMANDER OF THE ENEMY STRONGHOLD IN BATTLE.」

「CURRENT COMMANDER OF THE SKULL AZUCHI CASTLE: ANJU.」

「CURRENT COMMANDER OF THE SASOLIS NOMATA STRONGHOLD: KYOGOKU.」

「FOR The DURATION OF THE BATTLE, THE COMMANDERS, MEMBERS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE GUILDS AS WELL AS THE MEMBERS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE PARTIES ARE BEING EXCLUDED FROM THE NORMAL PLAYER KILLING PENALTIES.」

「NOW! LET THE BATTLE…… BEGIN!」

Once the declaration of war between the two structures comes into effect, the “war” state is going to last for about twenty four hours in game time or so. It was finally time for Kyogoku to be able to take a part in the ongoing events, and while stretching her arms and back she emerged from the inside of the Sasolis Nomata…… even though the name might have sounded pretty impressive here, it was nothing more but a desolated shack where two people would find it difficult to be able to squeeze themselves at the same time. But that was basically their home base for the time being.

「Hey there! Is it finally the time for you to go out there and do your thing?」

「Huh? Ahh, you’re with the Library, aren’t you? Yeah, I’m going out to do my thing. I have received the signal, so it’s basically go time.」

The one who has come to pay Kyogoku a visit was none other than the high-ranking member of the Library Guild, Kyoju. She was the one who helped the guild “Wolfgang design and set this place up, giving them some really useful advice alongside the way. However, what could the reason for her visit here be? Was it a pure courtesy? Or maybe something else entirely?

「It seems to me that all that advice we have given you paid off rather nicely, if nothing else.」

「Yeah, and you can be sure that we are going to abuse this system to the fullest here, but…… Is that really okay with you guys? I wonder.」

「Fufufu, you see…… There always comes a time in one’s life where one just wants to have a little bit of chaotic fun without really having to worry about appearances and everyone else around you, you know?」

Seeing Kyoju who smiled in a (seemingly) cute way, Kyogoku wondered if that is how it feels like for a grandparent to spend the time with his/her grandchildren and watching them grow. And then for a moment she even wondered if she could have had such a moment with her late grandfather if he was still alive now.

And then the next thing she started to wonder was if it would be possible for her to use the sword techniques she has learned from her Grandfather in this type of battle? Would that even give her an edge here? Oh well, she was going to find it out in just a moment. It would also serve to see just how much of a realism this game would allow you to perform.

「–––––– Ah, please pardon me. It seems that I am holding your departure from here. I’m just going to say to you what I wanted to say and then I’ll be on my way. I just wanted to assure you that no matter what happens here on this day, our alliance is not going to be affected by it in any sort of way. Therefore, you should give it your best out there and swing that sword of yours with all of your might, not having to worry about anything.」

「Umm…… Yeah, thanks a lot, I guess? Well then, I’m going to be on my way……」

Kyogoku bowed down a little bit before her guest and then headed out, summoning her weapon to her side and walking towards her destination with a really stern smile blooming on her face.

「I don’t really give a damn about if it is good or not. I’m just going to do whatever the hell I want, and the Heavens can sort the rest of this thing out for all that I care……」

While holding her black sword “Kenryu Gokaku” in her hands, Kyogoku easily manges to reach the Skull Azuchi Castle and invade it without issue. All because the Skull Azuchi Castle is open for the general public at all times and there are no restrictions to it as to who can enter it.

After all, as luck would have it…… Skull Azuchi Castle and Saolis Nomata are located just a stone’s throw from one another.

「…… A siege? A siege battle? What’s that? What’s that supposed to be!? I have never even heard about it before! Have you heard about it before, E-Miria?」

Inside of the Skull Azuchi Castle’s tower, E-Miria’s friend seemed to be at the height of visible confusion because of the sudden announcement that they had all witnessed just a moment ago.

A siege battle. It was the first time that E-Miria has ever heard that term. And she does not remember hearing about it from anyone else before. So in a sense it was like going out against the great unknown, both physically and mentally.

On the other hand, when it comes to the current caretaker of Skull Azuchi Castle, Anzu, she could see the window with declaration of war popping out over and over again, aside from the many more system windows, some of which were completely unknown to her. Needless to say, every time she closed the window, it would just pop up again like some sort of a curse, and she would just try to close it again. So far she has done that about twenty times or so.

「Ugh…… This is a mistake. It has to be! It has to be a mistake! You know…… Like at the time when something blocks the assembly line at one point and then the whole thing basically stops! Yeah, just a simple accident like that……」

There was a whole lot that E-Miria wanted to say here, but she chose not to do that. She knew just how much of a stress to deal with that newly born situation must have been.

And as far as the resources designated by the system for the siege battle go…… It was more than certain here: should the Skull Azuchi castle lose the siege battle and its resources be gone, they would not be able to keep the support for the raid battle going any longer. It would be all over.

「Kyogoku…… Kyogoku…… Where have I heard that name before? Ah! The PK’s Kyogoku!! That’s it!」

Kyogoku…… Now the name started to sound familiar. It was certainly the name of the player who took delight in Player Killing, and would practice it in many complex and extremely brutal ways. Not only that, it was the name of someone who most certainly belonged to the former “Ashura-kai” guild.

She is supposed to be a member of some other Guild by now, but…… So why is a player like that declaring war on Skull Azuchi Castle? And why now, of all times?」

「And most importantly, what the hell is this thing? Sasolis Nomata?」

It was the first time that anyone has ever heard a name like that. Tilting their heads in confusion and puzzlement, they opened up the detailed map of the entire surroundings to see if that would accomplish anything here.

They have searched the map all around the frontline base, and they even extended the search beyond that, all the way towards Tier Platen…… and they managed to find nothing. No clues or indicators at all. It’s as if a building like that was not even existing in the first place.

「What the hell!? What the hell is this thing…… Geez!」

「Anju-chan! I have come to have some fun!」

「What the!?」

「I don’t know how, but somehow some strange, dangerously-looking woman with animal ears managed to break inside of the Skull Azuchi Castle! Wouldn’t that make her this whole Kyogoku chick!?」

「HOGYAAAH!?!?」

The scream of Anju could mean only one thing…… The enemy general must have rushed to the enemy base in hopes of settling the battle before it could even start for good. Also, at that time no one would even notice that the name of the enemy stronghold was indeed on the map…… but it was so small and insignificant that no one would even bother to zoom in on the map so much in order to see it.
