The voices of the two sword masters overlap with one another as each one activates their respective technique.
「Not done yet! Sword Arts: Trio! Shadow Play! Synchronized Trio!」
「Right back at you! Sword Arts: Septet! Seven Deadly Sins! Seven Sinker!」
Right after the first round of attacks, another one was launched without a moment’s delay. Three swords and seven swords respectively fly in the air, controlled by their respective conductors and start their intended performance. As a result of that, Siegwurm the Heavenly Emperor was first trapped inside of a gravitational cage created by Saiga-100’s Septet, and then his golden body was assaulted by the Shadow Play created by Karoshi’s UQ’s Trio.
It was the kind of a coordinated attack and effort that only two Sword Saints or players similar to that class were able to perform, and surely not without a proper understanding of how their partner’s skills were working exactly.
「Oi! This doesn’t look good! This thing looks like it’s about to explode any moment now! We have to do something, and we have to do that something fast!」
「I’m most terribly sorry, but it looks like we won’t be able to make it in time……!」
「NO! NOT YET! WE CAN STILL DO THIS!!!」
Don’t give up. Not after coming so far. There was simply no way in hell that Akitsu Akane was about to give up at a critical time such as this one here.
There’s a black shadow flying through the morning sky at high speed, reading itself for one final assault while quickly chugging a potion from a glass bottle.
The time left until Siegwurm’s detonation…… five seconds.
The sphere of golden light in front of Siegwurm grew in size even more, and this time when it shot all of its lasers, they had all shot towards Akitsu Akane. Not even a single thread was aiming anywhere else, which meant that at the current moment Siegwurm considered Akitsu Akane to be the highest threat here.
「“SPHERE OF PROTECTION”!!!」
A small creature made out of magic energy flew in the air and positioned itself right in front of Akitsu Akane, reflecting Siegwurm’s laser somewhere else and protecting the Ninja girl from harm at the last possible moment.
The time left until Siegwurm’s detonation…… four seconds.
「“ATLAS BIND”!!!」
The magic skill of the Feng Shui Master who appeared completely out of nowhere gave Akitsu Akane a tremendous boost of speed, sending her forward like a speeding bullet. At the same time, it bound Siegwurm’s arms together behind his back, making him unable to retaliate with a physical attack of his own. Just like that, the Golden Dragon King was rendered virtually defenseless.
The time left until Siegwurm’s detonation…… three seconds.
「I will never forgive you, you hear me!? I will never forgive you for wrecking up my beloved Skull Azuchi Castle like that!」
There was a comically oversized ridge that appeared seemingly out of nowhere in here, and as it flew towards Siegwurm it managed to hit the Golden Dragon King straight to the spine, causing his whole body to jerk in an uncontrollable way and line up perfectly straight.
The time left until Siegwurm’s detonation…… two seconds.
「PREVENT FROM REACHING!!!」
「BLOCK FROM CONNECTING!!!」
In the last desperate attempt at defending himself from the attackers, Siegwurm shakes up his left arm just a little bit, trying to put up the defensive barrier right in front of his vulnerable body. But it was already too late for him to do anything to change his fate.
However, even though Akitsu Akane should be unable to stop anymore at this moment, stopped right in front of the newly erected Siegwurm’s barrier. And just then, Siegwurm managed to break off his arms free and threw it towards the Ninja woman. However, instead of piercing Akitsu Akane’s body, the claw of the Golden Dragon King slipped right through it without causing any damage.
No, it was not that. It was something else entirely. A virtual image. …… An illusion of the moonlight cast on the surface of the still lake. The skill “Utsurou Mikagami”.
The time left until Siegwurm’s detonation…… one second.
「Deadly…… Ninja Art!」
A voice called out those words all of a sudden.
For a brief moment out there, Akitsu Akane’s wings fluttered as she started to step across the void of the sky. And then what came next was the genuine final blow, one that Siegwurm was unable to recognize and against which there was nothing he could have quite possibly done.
Akitsu Akane clasps her hand on the grip of her Vorpal “Sakura” dagger and the blade of the dagger is then wrapped in a bright and mysterious glow. That light then scatters all over the place in the form of bright cherry blossom petals. Then, those petals came to a stop all of a sudden, and then they all shot forward like speeding comets, converging in one singular point.
「“SWIRLING CHERRY BLOSSOMS IN FULL BLOOM ––––––!!!!!!!!!”」
Time left until Siegwurm’s detonation…… Zero seconds.

After that, there was nothing but silence that followed.
The golden light that was emanating from Siegwurm’s body…… finally stopped expanding and even started to retract back into his body.
The Cherry Blossom Dagger forged by the King of the Vorpal Bunnies himself was thrust deep inside of Siegwurm’s reverse scale, ultimately succeeding in crushing it and splitting it into two equal pieces.
But Siegwurm was not dead. At least not yet. Not completely. But the battle was over. It was already over the moment his reverse scale was broken in half and his golden light of domination started to vanish. It was the end of his one final trial that he prepared for humanity to overcome.
「–––––– SUPERB.」
It was but one quiet word, but there was a whole myriad of feelings being locked behind it. In the end, this whole thing is just a game. In the end, Siegwurm is nothing more but a simple program. But that one word spoken by Siegwurm was more than enough for Akitsu Akane’s spine to shake uncontrollably. And in the next moment, her body falls to the ground just like that of a puppet with all of her strings being cut off.
「OH HUMAN! OH DRAGON! I CONGRATULATE YOU ON MANAGING TO DEFEAT ME! YOUR BRILLIANCE…… IT IS GOING TO BE FOREVER BURNED INTO MY EYES! NUMBER ONE WAS TO SPREAD ALL OVER, AND NUMBER TWO TO OPEN UP THE WORLD…… I THINK THAT THE WAY YOU ARE NOW, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RESIST THE INCOMING LIGHT OF THE ORIGIN JUST FINE.」
Since he was unable to unleash it fully onto the world, the golden light of domination was coming back into Siegwurm, alongside with the tremendous amounts of energy it was all containing.
But even though he was already in his dying state, Siegwurm was able to accept all of that light and its energy back inside of his core.
「NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, MINE WAS A LONG, LONG LIFE…… FAR TOO LONG. BUT NOW IT IS FINALLY COMING TO AN END, HUH?」
No one was able to say a word to Siegwurm, whose body was already starting to collapse on itself. Soon enough, the Golden Dragon King started to disappear into golden ashes being scattered alongside the wind.
「Ah! Umm……!」
「–––––– MUH.」
But there was one. There was one person in the whole world who was brave enough to speak to Siegwurm in his final moments.
A jet-black dragon girl, standing with her body all in tatters and shambles. She landed on the ground and looked up to the sky, witnessing the scattering golden particles.
「Umm…… This is……」
Akitsu Akane was unable to find the right words here, wondering why she would even speak up in the first place……? But ultimately, she decided to say out loud the same kind of words she once spoke to Noirlind.
「Umm, you see…… Always fighting the entire world on your own like that…… It was really amazing that you were able to pull something like that off! Thank you so much for that! Thank you so much for all of your hard work! So now…… So now you can finally…… finally……!」
