ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 480 Part 2

ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 480: Gravity Light-Headedness Caused By a Huge Impact Part 2

I see, I see, so that’s how it is, huh? So it’s just like that: once a certain number of golems is taken out of the picture, the ship itself must be deciding to send a new batch in the place of the old one and they start to come out from certain specific places, hm?

I stare somewhere in the distance, thinking that I stare deep into the soul of the Brave Fish. Of course, I do that with the salmon eyes of the mask that I am wearing. Of course, I do realize that it will amount to pretty much nothing, but maybe the Brave Fish will get the hint here? Hmm, I’m not really Pencilgton-level when it comes to charisma, so extracting the information is not really my thing……

「It’s just a hypothesis on my end, but maybe…… just maybe…… if you are foolish and brave enough in conquering the labyrinth, you can actually increase the drop item rate while reducing the number of battles?」

Reinforcements seem to be coming from somewhere up above if you happen to stay in one place for too long, but…… How about approaching that problem from the opposite direction? If you keep on running throughout the whole floor without stopping, there is a far greater probability of encountering more battles.

「On the contrary, if we decide to go “above” the entire labyrinth, we will most probably encounter even more battles that way, but at the very least we will be able to “create” shortcuts for ourselves.」

After all, this area seems to be almost entirely devoid of walls of any kind, so we could theoretically be able to push forward with the best possible view that we could ask for. I mean, since Alva is not used to things like flying around and such, it might actually be a little bit hard for him…… Ah, that’s right. It’s Le Alva now, I must make sure to remember that, yes.

「But it should be just a slight change in the distance, nothing all that drastic, right……? But it might be good to actually research some other method……」

「Here it comes! Isana-chan’s weather forecast~!」

Whoa, what’s the deal with that announcement all of a sudden!? Is that a bug? It has to be a bug of some sort, right!?

There is a holographic image of a young woman that appeared out of nowhere and spun around while making that announcement. Now I have to wonder, how come that with all of their technological advancements the Gods had to worry about weather and such other trivial matters?

「Today, in the first layer we expect some nasty Gravity Rain to come down really hard. This is caused by the lack of proper maintenance for the prolonged amount of time in the facility. Please do be careful where you step and watch your heads!」

「No, listen here! If you know that there is a lack of maintenance in some areas, then do it properly! And if you know that some shit is about to go down, then give us a proper warning ahead of time!」

「P-Please be careful where you step and watch your heads……」

Ahh, yes, yes, that’s right. It’s a compulsory event, isn’t it? Yes, now I understand, now I understand. …… Well, I have no idea what a Gravity Rain is supposed to be, but I guess that it’s not something gravity falling out of the sky like raindrops, right?

SPLOSH

「…… It’s raining gel again?」

All of a sudden, the Techno Magi-Gels start to fall down from the sky, splattering on the floor and splatter drops of gel around. But what speed they started to fall at! …… Wait, was that a natural fall? Or maybe something else?

「…… Ahh, so that’s what it meant. Now I see.」

So, what does that tell me? Could it be that the gravity control units inside of the Leviathan-Class ship were going haywire due to the lack of proper maintenance? So that means that the enemies that would normally be located on top of the ceiling would not be coming down to the floor? And that the floor enemies would go to the ceiling? Is that it?

Or it may very well be that it will be the other way around. Be that as it may, there is only one thing that I can say here for certain:

「Everyone! Let’s get out of here for now!」

Looking up, we can all see a whole lot of gel golems about ready to start falling down, right at our location. And it is not just a few of them, but enough to call them a real golem downpour.

「I think that we might actually be dead here.」

「Le Alva, could you please shut your mouth for a moment?」

「Sigma! Your turn!」

「Roger that, Master! I shall carry this individual to the best of my abilities!」

「Oguuuhhh!!!」

Splosh! Splosh Splosh! Droplets of gel just came crashing down at the very location we were standing at a moment ago. Haha! Dumbasses! Attacks like that are useless when your target is on the move! What can you do now, huh!? That being said, we are going to stay alive as long as we are on the run. Or unless we happen to come across a dead end…… Oh, well wouldn’t you know it? A dead end.

「Kuh…… If I can at least die in battle with a ferocious beast, then I would have no regrets about dying!」

「Hey! Don’t you dare give up on me! We are going to do this! We’re getting out of here!」

What do we do now? Should I order Sigma to just destroy them with her Gatling gun? No, it wouldn’t work here. Unless you destroy the golem’s core, its gel structure would simply regenerate. And now that very same gel is being turned into a weapon of mass murder, coming down at a very fast pace. And I assume that with a mass like that one hit to the wrong place is going to be more than enough to kill you on the spot.

Being hit by the lump of gel and dying because of that is stupid! It’s like being killed by a lump of tofu that someone smacked you across the head with! Same kind of energy!

Again, what should we do? I can intercept some of those droplets, but clearly not all of them…… No wait, but what is going to happen to them if you don’t blow it away? What’s going to happen? How did it come to this in the first place? Gravity works only like this, you either go up, or you go down……

「Don’t tell me……! The floor……!?」

Speaking of dungeon attractions and staples…… Everyone should be familiar with the traps and mazes that activate once you stop on a pressure pad or tile placed on the floor, right?

「Sigma! Break the floor! Quick!」

「But why…… No, roger! Form Change! Hammer Impact! …… Protocol Start!」

Sigma brandishes a small box in her hand and makes a weird move that I have no idea how it was even supposed to work, as if she was trying to change her clothes or something similar to changing what you wear. But as a result of that action, there is now a huge hammer in her hands, one with both booster and weird cylinder attached to it.

「Start the boosters. Begin crushing.」

A delicate body then slams a mallet right into the floor.

A loud roaring sound. A whole lot of cracks starts to run all across the floor, but without actually managing to break it.

ZWOOSH! (the sound of part of the floor suddenly glowing red)

「Huh?」

「Nuoh!?」

「Wah!」

「Brave Fish, you absolute bitch! I’m not going to forget about thisssssssss……!!!」

It appears that the various electronic devices from the Era of the Gods can be fixed by simply slamming your fist in them, but surprisingly enough the floor gets broken just like any normal floor would.

While we were all stepping over the floor, the gravity vector of the floor seemed to have changed and blew us right into the air, accompanied by the whole lot of gel golems that slammed onto the ceiling with mighty force.
