ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 501 Part 1

ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 501: Inflationary Winds Are Always Fast to Come Part 1

When it comes to military conflicts, it is always speed that is a deciding factor, and speed is exactly what I need right about now. So, my choice went to a strange vehicle with two tires attached to a board where both feet could barely have any space…… I was riding a so-called balance scooter and exploding in Chaos City where panic already started to spread.

No, as I was realizing that face a little bit too late, Twinkle Pixie’s physique is not the one that is capable of handling any sort of mechanical vehicle. Also, even if I wanted to try out the previous strategy of kindly asking for the free ride, there was an NPC in the vicinity to which I could turn in my hour of need. So I gave up on that idea and started to search on my own until I found this thing. At the very least it beats up having to run around town on foot.

「God damn it…… This calls for a sudden change of schedule. I must hurry it up and go with a surprise attack as soon as possible!」

However, what initially seemed like a good idea soon started to be rather troublesome. It seems that the Gods of RNG are still rather fickle, or maybe downright evil gods after all. Or maybe not at all. Maybe it was just a matter of simple fifty-fifty and nothing else.

「At this rate if I don’t start doing something, nothing is even going to change……!」

After the initial release of Galaxia Heroes: Chaos, it certainly took the gamers some time, but eventually for every character available in the game there was something like a standard combat strategy that was developed. And among those strategies, there are two main strategies when it comes to the absolute powerhouse that is Cursed Prison.

The first one is called the “Ichihara Strategy”. It basically revolves around making all sorts of morphological changes to Cursed Prison, but there is literally no need to list all of them here. Bike Type, Car Type, Helicopter Type…… It’s the kind of strategy that is the closest to the original Cursed Prison and excels at tactics that make use of his strong points the most. And since those elements were all pretty common in this city, it was easy for the Cursed Prison players to grow in power quickly and dominate the early stages of the game. It’s a really simplistic strategy, but nevertheless it was not something that should be underestimated. It is also something that is really important for the potential power surge of “Prison Break”, so the synergy in between those two elements was rather high.

By the way, probably the most bizarre thing that I have ever encountered while researching various strategies was the so-called “Counter—Hack” strategy. But it’s something that focuses mainly on the AI battles and comparing the results with other players.

「So I guess the only good course of action here would be to try and prevent her from changing forms as much as possible……」

And the other type of the most popular battle strategy is the one called “Dress-Up Type”. The cornerstone of this strategy is utilizing the objects that are scattered all around you in order to enhance your performance with anything that you would want at the current moment. It is a strategy that can be said to be the most common for Cursed Prison players, one that makes full use of the characteristics of the cursed suit of armor, a feature that was originally to be a disadvantage.

Needless to say, the most troublesome characteristic of this particular character is its diversity. Cursed Prison can change its battle style depending on the situation and the equipment that it currently has on itself, and every time he absorbs new elements, each other part of the equipment gets restored to its original durability level.

And it would be stupid and ridiculous on my end to expect that Amelia Sullivan, the Number Two in the entire United States, would come here without actually being suitably prepared.

That is why I need my TQC, Twinkle Quarters Combat, to counter anything that she might have prepared for me. I need to make that battle super quick and fast-paced, or else I won’t be able to get anywhere with it.

TQC is a close quarters combat style that I happened to develop while researching the best tactics for Twinkle Pixie and then combining them all with all the previous knowledge about CQC that I might have had from my previous fighting games experience. Or that’s the gist of it, in a really big nutshell.

And I might be calling this fighting style a CQC, but in reality it all amounts to approaching the target, yanking a huge portion of Pixie Dust into their face and beating the shit out of them while they are still disoriented from the powder’s effects. Then it’s just rinse and repeat, until you run out of Dust to spread around.

Now, when it comes to the name of this super fast-paced TQC style that I managed to invent, it goes a little something like this:

「Eat shit and die, Twinkle ☆!」

「So, you have finally decided to show yourself!? Very well! This means that round two is on!」

「Eat shit and die, Twinkle ☆!」

「Kuh, could you stop modulating your voice like that! It’s annoying! And honestly, it’s actually kind of creepy!」

「Eat shit and die, Twinkle ☆!」

…… And I admit, this battle style is kind of brain dead, but what can you do, huh? Sometimes you just have to deal with things like that and just carry on.

The eight-legged Cursed Prison who was trying to replenish his gauge by defeating the small fry enemies of “Mechanitan Group”, saw me and its body moved to intercept me, but it was then when I sprayed my Pixie Powder all around us, aiming to break the glass in the nearby windows and try to launch a surprise attack whenever it would be possible.

「Let’s go! Super-Fast Paced Battle! Right from the get-go!」

When it comes to the TQC super rapid battle, the method to make it happen is actually very easy! Throw away all of the reasoning, simplify your thoughts, and then just go to town with your fists! Just hit them, hit them, hit them, and then just hit them some more!

It is easy to think that Twinkle Pixie’s main means of attacking her opponents depends on Tinkle ☆ Wand, but in fact, the firepower of simple bare hands is also very high for this particular character. Specifically, the power of the punch grows even more powerful if Twinkle Pixie finds herself within the shroud of the Pixie Dust. In addition, it has the ability to jump in the air and float for a few seconds, although its jumping power and speed are not as good as those of Meetias. But that’s perfectly fine with me.
