ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 506: Super Alloy Machine Motion Fist Part 1

When it comes to Cursed Prison, you can say that there is an entire society built around it.

For you see, for some people the super boost in performance that Cursed Prison gets after using his “Prison Break” move is not nearly enough for this character to be “sold” to them. Or rather, “Prison Break” is not something that is going to give you a tremendous advantage if you are not already good at playing that character. It’s kind of like in ShangriLa Frontier: one needs to possess the adequate amount of skill in order to be able to properly utilize the tools that they are given.

Then, the more people started to actually play Cursed Prison, the more strategies, approaches and experiments with that character were being conducted, such as the layers of the armor…… and because of all that, a certain fact has been discovered, seemingly out of the blue.

「A special form of Cursed Prison…… having double the arms and double the legs?」

「Yes, apparently there is a special type of synergy that Cursed Prison seems to have in the game. Apparently someone has been digging through the source files and they discovered that there is a special kind of effect when you go and combine Cursed Prison with a specific group of machine soldiers.」

This approach to building Cursed Prison focuses on something as basic as armor. Or armor stacking, to be more exact. However, even though normally absorbing things into it would only cause more things to appear all over its body, if you were going to absorb some very specific elements, an exceptional mutation would occur in Cursed Prison. It would change its shape from a human-like form into a non-human form.

Perhaps there were instances in the past that Cursed Prison was assuming some sort of special forms, but not that I am aware of those. Was it something that was extra powerful but its mobility sucked ass? Or maybe possessed exceptional movement speed, but had little to no weapons installed? But whatever it might have been, I am pretty sure that it couldn’t even hold the candle to the form that my Cursed Prison assumed right now. The one obtained after absorbing the parts of the special mechanical enemies.

In a nutshell, it is something that completely forsakes adding extra weapons for the sake of increasing armor and horsepower performance.

Also, I probably don’t have to mention this at all, but with the power of the energy drink concoction that I have ingested into myself before the match, I was sure that my performance here would be elevated to even greater heights!

「Hmm, but I wonder if I am going to be able to utilize it all properly here?」

「What? Could it be that the lion has all but forgotten how to use its fangs and claws?」

Oh, mocking the lions now, are we? Well, let’s just show you how big of a mistake that can be. Besides, lions are fairly overrated, in my opinion.

「Hey there, kid! You’d do well to go and hide somewhere, and stay there for a while. This is about to get really nasty.」

「You don’t have to tell me that!」

At the current moment the enemies that my Cursed Prison absorbed into itself are the Colonel and General. Of course, on their own those two are not all that serious of a threat, but since they are Targeted Enemies and you get their parts and abilities and combine them together, then you are going to find out that your performance is increasing quite a lot in here. Besides, if you keep on absorbing the enemies of the specific type some more, those abilities will be boosted even further, which would eventually allow you to hold your ground against other enemies even if your HP is low. And that is something that can make quite a bit of difference on the battlefield.

However,

「Shame and regret of one’s past actions should all stay in the past! The present is everything that counts right now!」

If I’d let the shame and regrets from my past to govern my present, then I would never really have a future! That is why I’m not going to wallow in the past and I’ll keep on looking forward instead!

First, there are the parts that were taken from the Colonel. I took arms armor from it, and it was now sitting on my arms and shoulders, boosting the additional visual effect in the form of sparks running all over my arms and shoulders. Originally those parts belonged to some sort of a particle gun, and sometimes they could cause a static charge to go off and immobilize the enemies for a short moment, but I would not be betting my money on this effect saving my skin here. So I guess it was more of a purely visual flavor, since I was going to focus on mobility here.

Next we have the elements that were taken from the mechanical soldiers of Mechanitian’s army! They were originally bird-shaped and once I added them to my armor it basically changed the way in which my lower body looked. I received two additional legs, and all legs of mine were now ending around the knee-level, and instead of the feet I had float devices extending from them, which was keeping me in the constant state of hovering in mid—air.

And thanks to some additional jet propellers that I had installed around my waist and legs, I was able to attain the speed that would allow me to make instant dodge moves and close the distance between me and my opponents in an instant, while also retaining maximum amount of precision and control! You would never even think that a huge lump of metal armor like Cursed Prison could move so fast! And it should allow me to move even at sharp angles, not only in linear movements.

「I’m going to crush you into fine dust!」

But still, my opponent here is the Number Two player in the entire United States of America. In other words, she has fought against that freaking human machine Silvia Goldberg on numerous occasions and was able to keep up with her. If I am going to lower my guard even for a moment here, I am going to be met with a merciless counter and receive a beating unlike any I have ever experienced before.

But still.

I have no other way but to do this, right……!?

「Super! Heavyweight! Mobility! Pack! I may look fat and immobile, but you’ll be surprised just how fast I can move with this!」

「Guuuh!?」

With about twelve engines and propellers added to myself, I had a sort of freedom in adding as much armor to myself as I wanted. But that being said, the places where the armor is attached are more like the upper part of my body, otherwise the superior mobility that I was aiming towards would be extremely hard to achieve.

「…… What the!? What the hell is this armor!?」

「Pretty nice, huh? Wow, the things that you can find in safety deposits behind closed doors, am I right?」

The moment I knew that Amelia Sullivan was going to aim towards settling the matters with a heavyweight character, I even brought with me a heavy duty shield that would be able to withstand the impact of a missile, if she wanted to use one as a trump card. You could even say that even before this round had begun, I already had a battle style and plan ready in my mind.

Plus, there is one more thing that you need to be aware of at all times: Cursed Prison has a certain limit, or capacity, when it comes to what you can add to it. Now, there are many people with different approaches to said limitations. Some people choose to go with mobility, some choose to go with firepower, and others seem to go with general utility. However, there seems to be a consensus here: once you manage to build your Cursed Prison the way you wanted it to, just stack on weapons until you hit the capacity limit. There is also another approach that states that you should get three kinds of weapons, two sets of armor and one mobility unit, and that should make you all set. And that is all good…… However! Why would you even want to sacrifice one element for the sake of another, like power for mobility, when you can have the best of both worlds here!?

「Witness this! This blow is going to be filled with the ancient wisdom called physics!」

「Guh…… OOOHHH!?」

The end result here is somewhat similar to that motorbike thing that I managed to pull off during the battle with Silvia Goldberg, but this time around I was even heavier and even faster than that time around.
