ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 508: Climax Burning Part 1

There would be no more hammers on my end in this battle. I was also forced to discard some minor parts, mainly because otherwise I would have been unable to properly keep up with my opponent during this final battle.

「Man, I would really love to have some shrimp to eat right about now. Shrimp is good……」

Honestly speaking, I have no idea where that comment about shrimps came from, but I came out of my mouth alright. And fortunately enough, I managed to find a small group of machines that happened to look just like a bunch of shrimps just around the corner. What a stroke of luck!

「Shrimp? Hmm, is it just me, or are those machines more like lobsters? They sure do not look shrimp-y to me, let me tell you. Besides, lobsters taste way better than shrimps, and I’ll fight you for that.」

「I mean, how should I know? Maybe they both taste good, but I wouldn’t be able to tell. I am really not all that fond of insect-like creatures and food based on them in the first place.」

「Dude, insect-like? No matter how you look at them, they are clearly crustacean. And that makes a HUGE difference.」

CRUNCH! All of a sudden there is a huge chunk of meat that emerges from under the asphalt road, sending chunks of the road and dirt all over the place, emerging to the surface. I can’t shake off the feeling that this thing managed to answer my prayers in some way. It looks around for a bit, and once it finally notices me, it lets out a mighty roar!

This creature is called Xenoselgus, and it just so happens that it is one of Galaxia Heroes: Chaos’s heaviest and slowest characters, a character traversing the category of Heavyweight and going into the category of Super-Heavyweight…… As for its design, it looks pretty much like an oversized flesh doll that looks really repulsing, and acts in an even more repulsive way. Also, because of its characteristics I do believe that one of the very first things that were thrown into the trash can during its development phase was the concept of it being able to evade enemy attacks. Like, at all. Which is not all that surprising here.

It’s really slow when it comes to movements. It’s really heavy as long as the weight is concerned. …… And what naturally comes with those characteristics is the fact that it is also unusually tough and possesses an abnormally large HP pool.

If the normal set of rules were to be applied here, I would not hesitate to just go for the low effort win through obtaining the Chaos Cube, because the opponent like that was practically begging to be cheesed like that. However, since the Chaos Cube would not be showing here and the only way to win here is through knocking your opponent out, there is no other way to do this but to clash with the opponent and let the violence escalate.

「Okay, so…… Since this is basically the final round, do you have anything that you would like to say here? Because if you won’t say it right now, you might not get the chance to do it later, once things start to heat up.」

「Right so since you are the one who proposed this, then let me ask you this one thing just so that we are perfectly clear…… You bastard, why would you go for hiding away on the field with that ability?」

Why? Is that really the question you wanted to ask here the most? Why? Hmm, why……? Why, indeed……

「To have fun, I guess? I mean, I just think that age doesn’t really matter all that much here, but…… if you have a hobby that you would like to devote your whole life to, then just go ahead and just do it? So that you won’t regret it down the line?」

「I see. I understand.」

When it comes to my opponent, she is what you would call a genuine monster. Just the sheer amount of muscle on her arms alone would be enough to make one or maybe even two bodybuilders feel jealous. With so many muscles covering its whole body normally it would be impossible for it to move around or even fight. However, its lower body was hovering just slightly, which was the only attempt that was made in order to give it at least some amount of dexterity. But even with that its movements were really slow, so there was no way that it would have been able to close the distance between itself and its opponent if the situation really required it.

But still, it was coming ever so closer, closing the distance.

I activate the boosters on the sub legs of my Cursed Prison and as they start up, sparks begin to fly from underneath them in all directions.

BULGE, BULGE, BULGE! Xenoselgus’s muscles begin to swell and grow as power starts to course through its entire body, making it even larger and more muscular than before. Right about now it was just that: a literal mountain of muscle.

For a moment we just stand there and glare at one another. But then…… somewhere in the distance, there is a loud sound of explosion going on. That sound breaks the silence and gives us a signal to get this show on the road.

「「DIE, YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!!」」

The opening act is just about the same as the one last time, just a cross counter directly to the face using our fists. Just now it won’t be much of a problem, but if I let that keep up all the time, then I might be in for trouble in the long run.

Because of that, my punch might have been something that was made using the wet noodles. I should even consider myself lucky that I did not break any of my fingers when my punch connected with its jaw.

On the other hand, my opponent’s punch is similar to a hit made with a jack hammer…… If that jack hammer was its fist, and its wrist, elbow and the whole arm were just a pneumatic piston that only served to power up the punch to an even more ridiculous level. Also, jack hammers don’t usually make squeaking and growling noises. Also, there is one more thing here. This “jack hammer” is like a ticking time bomb, accumulating power all the time and constantly hanging on the verge of exploding. Now, the only thing that was needed here was the visual confirmation from the “eyes” and the approval of the “head”.

「Target within range.」

Now it’s the time for a super fast jab punch, aimed directly at the nose! Hopefully it will be enough to squash it into a bloody paste or some more like that!

But at the same time the lock that was holding the jack hammer in place has been released, and as a result a tremendous amount of energy has been released towards me all at once.

BANG! Roughly at the same time as that, a fist flies towards the face of Xenoselgus so fast that it seems like a hazy blur and nothing more, slamming directly into its nose and making a loud metallic sound while being at it.
