ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 522 Part 1
ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 522: An Orchestra Just For You PART 4 Part 1
As far as its attacks go, it was just like that time when we fought the genuine article. So not only was it utilizing its whole body to attack, but it was also shooting lasers from its mouth, tails and wings. But fortunately enough, so far I have been managing to avoid all those attacks no problem, without taking any damage.
It should also be more than expected that a monster like that would make an appearance here. After all, it was the Raid Monster that we happened to defeat on a complete miracle, and probably the first ever Raid Boss that made its appearance in this game. So it being here was actually kind of expected on my end.
But there is one huge problem that I’m facing right now: Wezaemon was a Unique Monster who was somewhat required to be solo’d. so it was not all that hard for me to beat it by myself. However, when it comes to the Great Red Devourer, it was in the very nature of this monster to challenge and defeat it alongside a team of high-leveled players. So soloing it should be pretty much impossible at the current moment.
And more than anything else here……
「What kind of procedure did I used to defeat that thing!? Remember! I need to remember that right away……!!!」
No, to tell you the truth, I actually remember that. Or at the very least some bits and pieces. Now, the real problem is how exactly it all happened, and what took place at what time. Without that knowledge I am going to be pretty much toasted.
I mean, oh well? I should have at least some probability of clearing this encounter on my own? Even if that probability is not all that great to begin with? But as long as that probability is not zero, then it should be all good? However, do I even have enough healing items in my inventory to actually be able to pull this off? And I mean, uuuwwwoooaaahhh, that was close! Too close! Stop it with the random lasers, you asshole! What if you actually hit someone with that!? But anyways, shouldn’t the amount of your heads also start to increase soon?
Laser attacks are the worst thing about this whole battle, basically because they are beam attacks that cannot be guarded against via normal means. I mean, I have my Mirror Shield Dis Pater and it should be able to solve that issue for me, but I also have the general flow of the story to consider here.
Besides, Dis Pater may be huge and capable of deflecting laser attacks, but it can only withstand so many attacks, you know? Besides, while reflecting the lasers I would be generally locked in one place, and this is not good here. I don’t want to be a sitting duck for some additional attacks. So using a shield against multiple lasers surely is a tactic that is out of the question right now.
Yes, so even though Dis Pater seems like a perfect strategy right now, it’s better to ditch that strategy and instead focus on avoiding the incoming attacks the old-fashioned way.
「And in addition to that……!!!」
For some strange reason even though the monster that was reanimated by the Orchestra looks exactly like the Great Red Devourer, it is not nearly all that aggressive as I remember it to be. Or at the very least that’s how I remember that fight, where it was an all-out war with very little breathing space to spare. But if we want to reproduce what happened during that fight, some confrontation is going to be unavoidable.
「Alright, just bring it on! No matter what you are going to throw my way, I am going to accept that challenge head on……!!!」
Next, the Orchestra starts to pick up its pace with the music, and somewhere around the audience seats red shades of people can be seen that started to appear.
From all over the place, wind starts to pick up for some bizarre reason and starts to swirl about, becoming a huge mass of swirling air. And then from that swirling typhoon, a strong torso emerges, one that is strong enough to easily support three massive heads.
And just like that, it seems that support has arrived on the scene? At least that’s what I would like to think while I gaze upon the Scarlet version of the “Drakarus DinoCerberus” that manifested itself right in front of me now.
Oh yes, the transformation of the rare monster that took place at that time! I am fairly sure that without the assistance of this monster we would not have been able to defeat the Great Red Devourer at all! Truth to be told, we would never even be close to doing that! So yes, having this thing on my side here is going to be a huge help indeed. After all, turning a battle of Player Versus Monster into Monster Versus Monster where the player just has to finish off the remaining ones is something that makes things a whole lot easier. And even though this battle is only a reproduction, I can’t possibly help it but to feel my tension starting to go up!
「Hey, BGM! How about you start doing your thing and lend us a hand as well, huh?」
Yes, that’s the spirit. Once the Tri-Headed Tyranno makes an appearance, the Orchestra changes its melody and its volume skyrockets, as if trying to underline the tension that this battle was starting to produce.
And the song of the “Diva” followed suit of those new developments, changing the tone as well as matching the lyrics to the currently ongoing situation.
I do not know why this particular battle was called the “Chapter Three” in Orchestra’s system, but I am not going to think too deeply about it all, because right about now there is a little bit too much going on for me to get distracted like that.
「–––––– RED LIGHTS, RED FLAMES!!! A FIERCE FIGHT, THE HERO JOINS FORCES WITH THE THREE HEADED MONSTROSITY, AND THEIR EYES LOOK TOWARDS THE SAME GOAL…… FIGHT! FIGHT! KEEP ON FIGHTING!!!」
It feels as though the song was only increasing the already high tension around this battlefield. And obviously, those lyrics are completely different from the previous two chapters, and their intent on cheering you to do battle is way more obvious than before.
And it might be just my imagination, but I am getting a feeling that the song sung by the “Diva” also serves to motivate the Tri-Headed Tyranno to fight. Nice going, Diva, keep up the good work! But try not to help out the enemy as well, because we really wouldn’t want that now, would we?
「Whoa there!」
Whoa there, this cannot be done! This cannot be done at all! Basically, once the Monster Versus Monster kicks into effect, the players or the ones who are unrelated to that cannot do anything besides sitting around and waiting for the monsters to do their thing and bring it to a close. It is slightly annoying, but I guess it’s just the way it is.
But since the tension on the field has risen so much…… Yeah! There is simply no way I am just going to sit around on my ass and do nothing! I want a piece of the action as well! I want to get aggressive!
「Right now I am a first class attacker! I do believe that I can match any kind of monster when it comes to raw battle potential!」
Running between the legs of the Tri-Headed Tyranno, I cast a quick glance at it and I can see that even though it’s a reproduction, it is a very detailed one, almost as detailed as the original. I wonder if the same can be told about the Great Red Devourer? Or more specifically, is there a “core” being buried deep inside of its chest? I guess that there is no other way for me but to blow that chest open and see for myself!
