ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 526 Part 1
ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 526: An Orchestra Just For You PART 8 Part 1
[…… Huh?]
This place…… Am I back right at the entrance to the room leading to the Orchestra theatre?
[Sanraku-san! You’re back! Does that mean that you managed to defeat it!?]
[No, you dimwitted bunny. I got my ass handed to me on a silver platter.]
[EEEEEEHHHHHH!?!?]
Haah…… Seriously now……? I mean, it’s not that I was not expecting something like that to happen at some point, but still…… Haah……
[…… But I guess that the invitation is still on, huh? At least it does not look as if it was about to expire anytime soon.]
The door…… Yeah, for some inexplicable reason they have remained open. So, I guess that I won’t have to actually send an e-mail with my complaints to the management of the game? However, the fact remains that what lies in wait for me behind those doors is completely demonic in nature, and turned out to be way more of a drag than I had initially anticipated. So I guess that if it ends up perfectly copying its opponent, then the meta tactics are going to be even more valuable than I thought they would be.
Because the other “me” is most probably never going to be the first opponent on the list, it means that I must go into battle fully decked out if I want to have a shot at defeating other recreated opponents. And that means that I am always going to be forced to fight the other “me” at its full potential. And the fact that this thing came at me right after I was over with the Great Red Devourer can only mean one thing here……
[It would also seem that the monsters do not appear in chronological order.]
Also, it would appear that the opponents are not chosen in regards to the power level they happen to possess. Because if it was like that, then Gravekeeper Weathermon surely would not appear before the Golden Crystal Scorpion. And before the Great Red Devourer there would have been a few other enemies that were more powerful than Golden Crystal Scorpion, but not nearly as powerful as the Devourer itself.
So, if it’s like that, then I am afraid that there is only one possible scenario that explains it all. And it is the worst possible scenario that could have happened to me in a place like this.
[So in other words it’s something that is completely randomized…… Seriously? Just give me a break already……]
Let’s see, what else can make my life even more miserable here than it already is……? Black Tsuchinoko Goldunine? Siegwurm, the Heavenly Emperor? Kutanid of the Abyss? Giant Centipedes? Fortress Spiders? Those other Crystal Scorpions……? And they all have the chance to be randomly selected? Oh, god damn it all to hell! Why did I have to run around this game like an idiot and accumulate such a rich and busy player log!? If I were to just settle down near Firstia and just plow some ground and be happy as a farmer, I only would have had to combat about four sets of earthworms! And it would have been so much easier that way!
Not to mention that besides the reproduced “me”, this thing would even go as far as to reproduce that absolute pervert of a bastard Deepslaughter just because she was needed for the scenario to unfold. If it rains, it pours, huh?
[Yeah, just how am I going to approach this……?]
I must make sure that next time I go in there, I am going to win this battle for sure! Yeah, if it only was that easy, huh, game? But I guess it will be more like that system where the stronger you get, the harder of a time you are going to have. But…… hmm, yes. This is certainly an interesting little idea. Should I give it a try here?
[Alright, guys! I need to check something real quick! I may be gone for a while, but I’ll surely be back!]
[Have a safe trip, Sanraku-san!]
* * * * * *
For the time being I decided to enter the arena once again and examine it carefully, but just as I thought, it does not seem that there is any stage gimmick in here. But there is that one thing that I am curious about. Namely: that music player that is lodged inside of the wall……
[Yeah, I thought as much. Could it be that it’s the thing related to the Orchestra itself? Or something else like that?]
However, I must not forget here that sometimes even the shabbiest first impressions can hide the most exciting and amazing secrets behind them. So I won’t be satisfied until I have investigated this place to my heart’s content! And who knows? If I do not happen to find anything, then I might as well send that e-mail with complaints that I have been talking about before. And just like that, I tried to touch the walls in different places, knocked on to them, and even tried to pierce or scratch them with my sword. However, not even a single scratch or dent was made on the LCD-like structure.
Next, I tried to poke the music player with my sword, but there was no reaction to that, either. I guess that it was really foolish of me to expect that doing that would yield me any results at all.
[Does that mean that I have to stick to this stupid gimmick? Oh well, for the time being, let’s just try to play it and see what happens.]
Jitter Doll…… Hmm, if my memory serves me correctly, wasn’t that some really important bigshot from the Era of the Gods? Like, the one who created Sigma and the rest of the Conquest Dolls? Or was that someone else, but with the same family name? Or was that name slightly different? Is that it? Or maybe there is some other hint somewhere else here? There is always a possibility like that, but unless I manage to find it, then it won’t be of much help to me. So how am I even going to go about this fight? Does that have something to do with those ghostly Orchestra members? Or maybe it’s related to the replicas themselves? Or should I pay closer attention to the lyrics that the Diva is singing?
[Alright then…… I guess I should get ready to fight the Gravekeeper Wezaemon once more.]
[“THE HEROIC EPIC OF SANRAKU”: FIRST CHAPTER…… THE SWIMMING EMPEROR!]
[Yup! And it’s a completely randomized event! I knew it!]
And judging by that name just now, I have a pretty good idea of what is going to appear in just a moment! Damn it! If you are going to throw something like that my way, you could at least make it drop some rare materials once I defeat it!
[Alright, you stupid orca bastard! Come on out so that I can make a quick work out of you!]
I get my weapons ready just in time to see it materialize in mid-air and swim right at me as if this space was underwater. There it was! The Atlantic Reaperorca!
…
………
……………
Alright, everyone! Please listen up! It’s question time! Does any one of you happen to know the meaning of the word “random”?
…… Yes, yes! That’s right! That is exactly right! It’s all about random numbers! In other words, complete and utter garbage!
[Hah! Shit! Fucking bullshit! The greatest shit stain I have ever seen! Get the fuck out of here this once and never show your ugly ass around these parts ever again!]
Great Red Devourer…… Why do you have to be such a hassle every single time, huh!? And this time the battle lasted even longer than the last time! It will really become quite a problem if it is going to take longer and longer to defeat it with each consecutive attempt!
